Chapter 27 Did She Serve Him in vain? (1/2)

Wan Ruo said in a deep voice, "That abandoned Zen room is near the mountain stream. Go to the bushes behind and start a fire to make the fire bigger."

Su Yue nodded immediately: "Yes!"

Su Yue went to do it immediately, while Wan Ruo hurried out of the Zen room, where a group of servants were playing dice on the grass.

As soon as she glanced around, Qing'an noticed her and immediately trotted over: "Cousin, do you have any instructions?"

Xie Xianyu went to the palace, so Qing'an naturally couldn't follow him in. Xie Xianyu asked him to stay in the house to take care of his cousin. Originally, he didn't need to come with him to work today, but since his cousin came, he came anyway.

Wanruo looked a little anxious: "I want to ask you to do me a favor."

Qingan said without hesitation: "Just give your orders, young lady!"

Su Yue acted quickly. Now the fire had started on the east side of the mountain behind. People who had wanted to go in to watch the excitement hesitated and dared not go in when they saw the sudden fire. They stood outside pointing and talking.

"Why did the fire start out of nowhere? Wasn't there someone having an affair in there?"

"This fire isn't about an affair, it's about suicide!"

"Is this news true or false? I feel like they're trying to trick us into coming here and burn us to death."

"No way?"

"Then why don't you go in and take a look?"

"You're crazy! Who knows if you can get out after you go in?"

At this moment, Qing'an rushed out with two guards and two maids carrying buckets of water: "Make way, make way."

Everyone immediately made way for the servants to rush in and put out the fire.

Wanruo stood outside the crowd, looking anxious.

"Fortunately, we arrived in time. They were stopped outside by the fire and dared not get close. Don't worry, young lady. There is a mountain stream behind this Zen room, which makes it very convenient to put out the fire." Su Yue comforted.

Wanruo was not worried about the fire, but was only worried that it was really Xie Xiulin inside.

After waiting anxiously for a long time, he finally saw the servants who had rushed in to put out the fire come out again. Two old women were holding a man who had fainted from smoke inhalation. His face was covered in black soot and he was wearing a servant's clothes.

No one noticed anything unusual, they just thought that the boy was weak and fainted from the smoke when he rushed in to put out the fire.

Wanruo recognized him at a glance, it was Xie Xiulin.

"Take her back first and don't alarm anyone." Wanruo gave an order, and the two old women immediately carried the person away.

Wanruo waited for a while and saw Qing'an helping a man out of the burning Zen room.

The crowd erupted in disappointment again: "What? It turns out they were two men having an affair with a woman?"

"Oh, they're all rumors. I waited for nothing. It was so boring."

"That's right. Who among the noble ladies would do such a thing?"

Wanruo glanced at the fainted man who was helped out by Qing'an. Who else could it be but Prince Zheng?

Qing'an threw Prince Zheng onto the open ground and then hurried to Wan Ruo's side.

"Miss, Xiao Ye just led people in and saw Miss Seven..."

Qing'an paused for a moment and whispered, "The disheveled man was hugging that Zheng Shizi. My uncle, following the young lady's instructions, knocked them both unconscious and had the maid change Miss Seven's clothes before carrying her out."

"Thank you very much."

"What's the big deal? I'm strong, so I'll just do this. You can do whatever you want, girl!"

"Please don't make this public."

"Of course! Don't worry, young lady. These are all the eldest son's wives. They are very tight-lipped and dare not say anything careless."

Qing An paused, then smiled wryly, "I still have to say something to the eldest young master."

Wanruo pursed her lips. She wasn't surprised. After all, Qing'an was his lover. How could she possibly hide it from him?

But Xie Xianyu knew that it was better than having everyone in the world know about it. She had no one else to choose from in the Xie family, so at this juncture she could only choose him.

Wanruo returned to the meditation room. Xie Xiulin had regained consciousness. When she saw Wanruo, she fearfully grabbed her hand and said, "Sister Wanruo, I, I..."

But he couldn't come up with a single word to defend himself.

Wan Ruo said in a deep voice: "How could you be so foolish as to even dare to have an affair in a temple? Do you know that if this were to become known, your life would be ruined!"

Xie Xiulin couldn't stop crying: "I didn't, I didn't have an affair. It was Zheng Shizi who heard me talk about my tragic life story, felt sorry for me, and comforted me. I was crying so hard at the time, I, I didn't know..."

Xie Xiulin and Prince Zheng had originally agreed to meet in private after they went to the temple to burn incense today. After they met, Prince Zheng was very gentle to her. Xie Xiulin cried and complained about the grievances she had suffered over the years. Later, Prince Zheng coaxed and tricked her into taking her to the Zen room.

"Sister Wanruo, please don't tell anyone, otherwise the Third Madam will beat me to death..."
