Wanruo blinked and said, "I have practiced, but I haven't made much progress."
"Then you try it."
Wanruo swallowed and moved to the side of the piano, but Xie Xianyu showed no intention of giving up his seat.
She was about to speak when he grabbed her wrist, gently pulled her into his arms, and sat her on his lap.
"Play it, I'll watch."
Wanruo was very annoyed. Who was it that said that students were not allowed to seduce the teacher in the last class?
It seems that all the rules are set by him.
But she didn't dare to object. She raised her hand to touch the strings and reluctantly tried to use the fingering he taught her last time.
Then, the piano that had just been ticking suddenly made a sharp explosion.
She felt guilty and didn't dare look at him. His low voice rang in her ears: "Is this a lack of progress, or is it that you haven't practiced at all?"
Wanruo hurriedly defended herself: "I practiced, but no one taught me, so I forgot the feeling while playing."
Her eyes were wide open and she looked at him devoutly, afraid that he would not believe her.
His warm lips pressed against her ear, making her feel numb all over, but he held her in his arms, leaving her no way to escape.
In such an ambiguous atmosphere, his voice was chilling: "Really?"
Wanruo froze, lowered her head in frustration, and confessed honestly: "I forgot to practice."
But the aura around him still did not weaken. His long fingers casually plucked the strings of the zither, and his voice was calm: "The headmaster of the clan school said that Madam Xu wanted to take Xu Shujin out?"
Wanruo's expression changed slightly. He knew it so quickly?
Even for such a small matter, the headmaster had to ask him for instructions. He pretended to stare at Ajin.
"One day, when Ah Jin came back from the clan school, I found him covered in wounds. I then realized he had been bullied by the students there. He was afraid I would worry, so he never told me, nor would he complain to the teacher, for fear of causing trouble."
"I was so angry that I went to Madam Yi to seek justice. Madam Yi was kindhearted and felt sorry for Ajin, so she suggested that we send Ajin to the Maoshan Academy run by her uncle. The students accepted by that academy are mostly commoners, and Ajin would have a better study experience there."
When Wanruo thought of the injuries on Ajin's body, her throat became dry and she really wanted to cry, and tears rolled down her face unexpectedly.
Xie Xianyu frowned slightly, looking at her tearful eyes, his heart seemed to be pulled.
"Why don't you come to me?"
Wanruo sniffed. "What's the point of you standing up for Ajin? If people find out about our relationship, they might curse Ajin even more harshly in private."
"Besides, this isn't about teaching a few kids a lesson. Ajin comes from a humble background and doesn't fit in with the Xie clan. Even though you've stood up for him and prevented others from bullying him openly, they still look down on him in their hearts. I don't want him to always feel inferior."
He raised his hand to wipe her tears: "Maoshan is so far away, are you willing to send him there?"
"Boys have to be independent. Besides, I want him to be happy more than I want him to be closer to me."
Her eyes were red, tears still lingered on her face, and she leaned on his arms, "Brother Xianyu, you are all I have."
His heart seemed to suddenly go numb. Ever since she fell into the water, she had become even more clingy to him, but for some reason, he felt even more empty inside.
He pinched her chin, forced her to look up, and looked into her watery eyes: "Wanwan, do you dare to lie to me?"
