Chapter 9 Jedi Counterattack (2/2)

"Where is Ajin?" Wanruo asked.

"Young Master? He is studying at home and hasn't come out." Su Yue was stunned.

Wanruo breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good."

It was because she was concerned that she was confused. She had clearly told Ajin not to go out and join in the fun today, but to stay at home and study hard. Ajin has always been obedient and would not run around.

Su Yue asked anxiously: "Miss, what happened?"

Wanruo's eyes turned cold: "The Third Madam used Ajin to trick me into coming here, and wanted to sell me to Yuan Zhao."

Su Yue's expression changed instantly: "What?! That girl, you..."

Wanruo took out a small medicine bag from her sleeve and said, "I carry this medicine powder with me, so he can't get close to me."

Wanruo had started to recognize medicinal herbs when she could still read. Growing up among piles of medicinal herbs, it was not difficult for her to prepare this kind of medicine.

Ever since the disaster at home, she has always felt insecure and always carries this powder with her for self-defense.

This powder is sprinkled on people's faces. Once the eyes get any of it on them, they will feel extremely stinging, unable to see, and completely lose the ability to move. It will take at least three days to recover.

She had deliberately shown weakness to lower Yuan Zhao's guard and make him think that she was completely unable to resist. This allowed her to sprinkle the powder on his face the moment he got close to her and launch a desperate counterattack.

Su Yue asked hurriedly: "What about the Third Madam?"

Wanruo shook her head slightly and just looked at the closed gate of Wutongxuan.

After a while, there was a loud slap, and the third master cursed: "Bitch!"

Su Yue was terrified: "This, this is..."

Wanruo raised the corners of her lips slightly: "Let's go, the banquet has started, it's time for us to go over."

Su Yue was stunned for a moment: "Yes."

The banquet was held on a cool terrace outside Taoyuan.

Wanruo came to the banquet and found the most inconspicuous seat to sit down.

Xie Xiulin quickly pulled her aside and asked, "I heard there was a thief in the backyard. Were you the one who caught him? Were you hurt?"

Wanruo smiled and said, "No, as soon as I shouted, someone came to catch the thief."

"You're so brave! How dare you shout for help? You should stay away from him. It would be troublesome if you get caught by that thief."

Wanruo took her hand and said, "I don't have any."

Wanruo glanced and saw a worried-looking Mr. Lanshan standing far away in the woods. It was Lin Han.

Wanruo squeezed Xie Xiulin's hand and said, "I'm going to change clothes first and come back to accompany you later."

"good."

Wanruo stood up and walked into the woods.

"Mr. Lin." Wanruo bowed.

Lin Han hurriedly said, "I just heard that there was a thief in the mansion, and you ran into him. Did you do anything?"

There was such a big commotion just now, so we have to have an explanation. Just tell everyone that there was a thief.

Wanruo smiled and said, "I'm fine. Thank you for your concern, sir."

"You are a weak woman. If you encounter such a person, you'd better stay away from him. What if the thief is a cruel person? He might ask you to pay with your life!" Lin Han's eyes were full of worry.

Wanruo nodded gently: "I was in a hurry and didn't care about many things. I'll remember it next time."

Lin Han sighed: "You are still too kind-hearted."

Wanruo smiled but shook her head in her heart, no, she was not kind-hearted, she was vindictive and scheming, and had done countless bad things.

At this moment, there was another commotion at the banquet.

"The eldest master is here!" the maid came happily to announce.

The eldest lady happily put down her chopsticks. After a whole day of chaos, there was finally some good news.

"Xian'er is here."

Xie Xianyu strode in and bowed, "Mother."

"Child, no matter how urgent the case is, you should remember to hold a banquet for you at home today. With so many guests coming, how can you be absent?"

Xie Xianyu responded, "I didn't think it through."

His eyes swept through the garden without leaving a trace. There were twenty tables in the garden, with male and female guests sitting separately. There was only a screen in the middle, which was just a symbolic barrier.

He didn't see who he was looking for, and his brows unconsciously frowned slightly.

The eldest lady didn't notice, but was beaming as she pulled Jiang Xuejun closer: "Xian'er, this is Miss Jiang. You met her at the Dragon Boat Festival banquet last year."

Xie Xianyu glanced at the woman beside her and said indifferently, "Miss Jiang."

Jiang Xuejun's cheeks flushed, and she bowed: "Thank you, sir."

The eldest lady smiled and said, "It's been a long time, and Xuejun has grown up. This child has been outstanding since she was young, and her literary talent is very good. It's not an exaggeration to say that she is the top daughter in the family."

Jiang Xuejun lowered her head in embarrassment: "Aunt, please stop making fun of me. How can I be considered the top scholar? Master Xie is the real top scholar."

Xie Xianyu glanced at the peach forest nearby and suddenly saw a man and a woman standing facing each other in the forest.
