Chapter 1 Going to the Countryside

There are no trains stopping in Lu'an County, so this group of educated youth traveled a long distance by train and then by bus.

This bus, which departed from the provincial capital, is about to arrive at its final destination, Lu'an County.

The driver reminded the passengers that they could get off the bus, and the bus began to stir and become noisy.

Xue Fu woke up in this environment.

She had never experienced this environment before. Confused, she opened her watery eyes, her beautiful fox-like eyes filled with bewilderment and incomprehension.

Where is this?

She stared at the yellowish glass window and the blue-gray curtains, lost in thought.

The next second, a long string of memories was forced into my mind.

She felt like her head was throbbing for a long time, but it only lasted a moment before she felt better.

Xue Fu realized something big.

She seems to...

It seems so...

Time travel?

She had transmigrated into the novel she had been reading before bed last night, a period drama titled "Sweetly Pampered Educated Youth in the 1970s."

The character she, Xue Fu, played was the same villainous supporting character, Xue Fu, who shared the same name as her.

She felt uneasy when she saw this supporting actress last night.

However, because her friend said that this novel was really good and addictive, especially the tug-of-war between the male and female protagonists in the later part, Xue Fu still forced herself to read on despite her embarrassment.

The male and female leads are indeed very sweet, but she gets goosebumps every time she sees the name Xue Fu in the text.

This vicious female supporting character, to call her vicious, she's just too love-struck; all those vicious tricks were taught to her by others.

This made Xue Fu feel even more aggrieved.

So before going to bed, I couldn't help but post a book review saying that the female supporting character was stupid, but the truly vicious one was someone else.

And then, just like that, she transmigrated into the book?

Xue Fu had a headache and went over the plot of the book in her mind again.

The female protagonist of this book is named Li Jing, and she is an educated youth sent to the countryside.

Li Jing is gentle, well-educated, and has a charming personality; everyone in the educated youth settlement likes her.

This includes Sun Yu, the male educated youth whom the female supporting character secretly admires.

Sun Yu rejected the original owner's confession and instead confessed to Li Jing, but was rejected by Li Jing as well.

But not long after, Li Jing and He Luosheng, the son of the village secretary, came together because of their shared aspirations.

The female supporting character is jealous of the female lead.

The female supporting character's logic is also quite peculiar. She thinks that Sun Yu is so outstanding, how could Li Jing reject the male supporting character?

Sun Yu exploited the female supporting character's mentality, causing her to cause trouble and ruin the relationship.

So the female supporting character listened to him and hired thugs to harass Li Jing, hoping Sun Yu would play the hero and rescue her. But the male lead, He Luosheng, saw through their scheme, and the plot was exposed.

Sun Yu shifted all the blame onto the female supporting character, who was eventually taken to the police station and imprisoned.

Xue Fu pressed her temples, continuing to recall the final fate of the female supporting character in the book.

The book says that many years later, when the female supporting character was released from prison, the male lead, He Luosheng, who had become a big shot, was afraid that this ant would continue to cause trouble, so he deliberately set a trap and made the female supporting character commit theft and go to prison again.

Xue Fu felt a throbbing pain in her temples.

She was pampered from a young age. Her father was a professor, gentle and refined, and her mother was a domineering female CEO, decisive and efficient.

She was an only child, raised with the love of her mother and father, getting whatever she wanted and living like a princess. Her life was smooth sailing for eighteen years, without encountering any setbacks.

Heaven gave her such a good family background, and Nuwa even sculpted a face for her worthy of a graduation project.

Xue Fu lived up to her name, possessing a face as beautiful as a lotus emerging from water—pure, fair, delicate, and noble. Yet, she also had a pair of alluring fox-like eyes, adding a touch of charm and passion to her otherwise beautiful features.

How could such a thing have happened?

Xue Fu really hoped this was just a nightmare.

But the sensations in her body, the images she saw, the sounds she heard, and the objects she touched all told her that she had truly traveled through time, and this was not a dream.

This was in the 1970s.

Xue Fu wanted to go home. But she didn't know how to get back.

She stared blankly ahead, appearing lost in thought to those around her.

So Zheng Peipei, a female educated youth next to her, kindly patted Xue Fu on the shoulder. Seeing that Xue Fu was still in a daze and didn't react after the bus arrived at the station, she reminded her to take her things and get off the bus: "We're getting off the bus soon, hurry up and pack your things."

Xue Fu finally came to her senses, glanced around at her surroundings again, and nodded to the girl next to her who had been talking to her: "Okay, thank you."

Xue Fu remembered that the original owner's luggage was placed on the overhead luggage rack.

A suitcase, a rarity for this era, and a bundle containing blankets.

Xue Fu remembered the female supporting character's family background.

The female supporting character is from Beijing. Her father is a researcher at a research institute, and her mother is the head of the propaganda department of a newspaper.

The female supporting character is also an only child, a child who grew up in a compound.

Logically speaking, the female supporting character shouldn't have had to go to the countryside at all.

But the female supporting character is love-struck; she went to the countryside entirely because she was chasing after the male supporting character she had a crush on.

The male supporting character, Sun Yu, is her high school classmate.

Xue Fu disliked this male supporting character from the moment she read the book.

A cowardly, indecisive man. No wonder Li Jing looks down on him.

As she recalled these fragments, which continued to replay in her mind, Xue Fu discovered another blind spot—

In this world, Xue Fu's parents look exactly like her mom and dad.

She misses her parents.

She transmigrated here. What happened to the original 'Xue Fu'? Did the original 'Xue Fu' go to her world?

Xue Fu began to wonder if this was actually a parallel universe.

Everyone else had left the car, leaving only Xue Fu. The driver looked in the rearview mirror and loudly urged her on.

"Miss, you're getting off the bus, you're getting off."

Xue Fu then realized that no one was around, and quickly took her luggage down from the shelf.

But a box and a large bundle were a bit too much for her.

After struggling to get off the bus and finally landing on solid ground, Xue Fu felt wronged and bewildered.

She silently chanted "golden finger" several times in her mind.

In transmigration novels, don't the female protagonists who transmigrate into books usually have cheat codes?

She called out many times, but there was no response.

Xue Fu was even more frustrated.

Can she really survive alone in this era?

At the station entrance, because today was the day to pick up educated youth, oxcarts from the eight production teams of Hongxing Brigade lined up in a row.

The team leaders took turns drawing lots in front of the brigade leader. Whichever educated youth they drew, their name would be called out and they would be sent to sit on the oxcart.

Zhou Jianguo, the production team leader of Qingtang Village, grabbed the last piece of paper and unfolded it.

Zhou Jianguo first furrowed his thick eyebrows, then sighed before calling out the name above.

"Xue Fu, Comrade Xue Fu, is an educated youth from our Qingtang Village."

After a long while, none of the last few educated youths, including a woman named Xue Fu, stepped forward.

The brigade leader frowned; it wouldn't do if the number of educated youths didn't match up and they ran away.

The atmosphere became slightly serious due to the lack of response.

Zheng Peipei, who was also assigned to Qingtang Village, looked around and suddenly spoke up: "Comrade Xue Fu may have been lost. She's in the car, sitting next to me."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Jianguo propped his pipe up on the oxcart.

"Gu Chong, it's just the two of us today. I can't leave here. Could you please help me go in and find this Xue Zhiqing?"

Gu Chong didn't come with Zhou Jianguo today; he just wanted to ride back to the village in an oxcart, so he waited here with Zhou Jianguo.

The captain's words made sense, and he couldn't refuse.

Gu Chong nodded with a stern face.

He got off the oxcart and prepared to walk into the station.

Fearing he wouldn't recognize Xue Fu, Zheng Peipei added a comment as she watched him hurriedly leave.

"Comrade Xue Fu, the most beautiful one in the crowd is Comrade Xue Fu!"

Gu Chong still clearly caught this sentence even in the crowd.

But he didn't take it seriously at the time.
