Chapter 92 Du Ruoxia is not a saint
Song Shifeng hadn't expected that their meal would be over before a new problem arose.
Just as Du Ruoxia had thought, the grain was not enough; the villagers' appetites had grown!
In this way, the soldiers were the ones who ended up with nothing to eat, as the food was given to the villagers first!
Song Shifeng looked at the hungry soldiers with a sense of helplessness. They would have to go hungry for one night. He hoped that Dean Liu could send food over soon.

Song Shifeng nodded. They couldn't keep guarding these villagers like this forever; they were too difficult to deal with!
When the helicopter delivered food in the morning, Song Shifeng asked his assistant to leave, and he also asked Du Ruoxia to leave, while he stayed behind to keep watch.
Du Ruoxia was still worried about Xiao Gao's situation; she had to go and check on him to feel at ease.
The other doctors wanted to leave after seeing Du Ruoxia leave, but a single look from Song Shifeng deterred them.
As Du Ruoxia watched the small pile of people on the mountaintop gradually shrink, she couldn't help but think about the purpose of her visit. Finally, she felt she had done right by her conscience!
"I hope they can grow from this experience," Du Ruoxia murmured to herself as she looked at them.
The underground floodwaters have already reached the foot of the mountain, and the water level is even higher than it was two days ago. It won't recede anytime soon.
When Du Ruoxia arrived at the hospital, she saw Yang Zeyan.
"You're all out?" Du Ruoxia exclaimed in amazement at Yang Zeyan's speed.
He went downstream to look for the person and rescued them so quickly!
As soon as Yang Zeyan saw Du Ruoxia, he walked over quickly. He pulled her aside and only felt relieved after making sure she was alright.
"Why didn't you let Wang Hu come with you? I can manage on my own!" Yang Zeyan's tone was reproachful.
Du Ruoxia patted his hand, "Relax, I'm not going anywhere on the mountaintop. Wang Hu can only be useful if he's with you!"
Yang Zeyan couldn't persuade Du Ruoxia otherwise. He wanted to say something more, but someone was looking for him on the other end!
Du Ruoxia watched Yang Zeyan walk towards that person. What a small world! It turned out to be Section Chief Zhao.
Section Chief Zhao walked anxiously up to Yang Zeyan and said something. Yang Zeyan's expression also darkened, and he immediately followed Section Chief Zhao.
Du Ruoxia followed them all the way to the operating room.
Outside were Section Chief Zhao's wife and daughter, and surprisingly, his mother was also there, but his son was nowhere to be seen.
"Commander Yang, could you apply to the army to send a doctor from Kyoto to perform surgery on my child?" Section Chief Zhao looked at Yang Zeyan with a pleading expression.
Yang Zeyan looked very unwell; clearly, this matter was not going to be handled well.
He paced back and forth, while Du Ruoxia watched them quietly, especially Section Chief Zhao's mother.
The old lady's remorseful look made Du Ruoxia suspect that this situation was her doing. However, she obviously did not realize the seriousness of the matter and just followed her son to beg Yang Zeyan.
Du Ruoxia was also curious as to why Section Chief Zhao, a dignified section chief of the Kyoto Meteorological Bureau, needed Yang Zeyan's help when he could easily find connections to accomplish this himself.
Just then, Dean Liu came out, and Du Ruoxia turned to the side so that Dean Liu could not see her.
"Sigh, the injury is too severe; I can't perform this thoracic surgery," Dean Liu said, shaking his head.
Upon hearing this, Section Chief Zhao's elderly wife collapsed to the ground, crying, "No, no, my grandson only bled a little, how could he not be saved!"
Section Chief Zhao's wife went to help the old lady up, but the old lady pushed her away and walked to Yang Zeyan.
"You're the commander, go and talk to the hospital in Kyoto, and ask them to send a doctor to save my grandson!"
"Hurry up, go make the call now!"
As the old lady spoke, she pushed Yang Zeyan, but Yang Zeyan did not budge.
"Alas, if Comrade Du from our hospital had been here the other day, there might have been a glimmer of hope. It's a pity she went to the countryside for disaster relief!" Dean Liu said to Section Chief Zhao with a regretful expression.
"What Comrade Du? Where is she? Go find her quickly!" Section Chief Zhao's face immediately filled with fighting spirit.
"She went to Gaojiazhuang for rescue work. Once she went in, she couldn't come out. We airdropped all the food to her."
"Besides, your child can't wait that long!" Dean Liu said with a helpless expression.
Their faces turned even more ashen upon hearing this, and they immediately turned their hopeful gaze to Yang Zeyan.
Du Ruoxia listened quietly to their conversation, and when she heard Dean Liu mention her, she wanted to cover his mouth!
Hearing the dean's words, Yang Zeyan's eyes flickered. "What's the child's condition now?"
"Major bleeding, the blood vessels in the chest are thin and difficult to treat, the bleeding cannot be stopped, I estimate..." Dean Liu didn't finish his sentence, but the meaning was clear.
Yang Zeyan nodded and looked at Section Chief Zhao, "Even if someone from Kyoto came, they might not be able to make it in time."
It takes two hours to fly from Kyoto to Nishiran City.
"Where is Comrade Du, whom Dean Liu mentioned? We'll send a plane to find him!" Section Chief Zhao said excitedly, grabbing Yang Zeyan's hand.
"That plane has already left to deliver food to the disaster area!" Dean Liu sighed.

Seeing his mother was too agitated, Section Chief Zhao had no choice but to pull her away. He kept comforting her, "Mom, don't worry, I will definitely find that doctor!"
"I'll contact Kyoto." Yang Zeyan said, turning and leaving without even glancing at Section Chief Zhao.
He was already quite dissatisfied with Section Chief Zhao because of his improper command of the rescue efforts in the north. Now, he could not condone the behavior of abandoning the people for the sake of his own child.
Yang Zeyan walked back to the other end with a gloomy expression, where Du Ruoxia was still waiting for him.
"I'm going to make a call to the dean. Will you come with me?" Yang Zeyan asked her.
Du Ruoxia shook her head, "I'll wait for you here!"
She didn't want to meet with Dean Liu, that big mouth, and she didn't want to get involved in that big trouble!
After what happened in Gaojiazhuang, she has come to terms with it. Du Ruoxia is not a saint. She can save people, but she values her life even more!
Given Old Mrs. Zhao's personality, if anything were to happen to her precious grandson, it would be her responsibility. She'd rather not get involved in such trouble!
As Yang Zeyan left, he took a deep look at Du Ruoxia and gave her a reassuring gaze at the end.
After Yang Zeyan left, Du Ruoxia went to the outside of the operating room. Dean Liu was no longer there; only Section Chief Zhao and his family remained.
The family sat dejectedly outside waiting, while doctors came out every now and then to inquire about their decision.
There's really no point in asking questions. If they can't save him, they'll have to give up. If he's lucky, he might survive.
Dean Liu had disappeared, and the doctors who remained were completely lost.
