Chapter 60 Are the hostages just for show?
Bai Fengqi's gaze towards Du Ruoxia could only be described as that of a devoted fanboy; this Fan Ke really gave off the feeling of being their boss!
Zhou Mengrou glared fiercely at Du Ruoxia, but Du Ruoxia ignored her.
"Go find a loudspeaker, the kind that old man carries around with him, the bigger the better," Du Ruoxia instructed Bai Fengqi.
Bai Fengqi still refused to leave, and Du Ruoxia shook her head helplessly, "Do you think this hostage is just for show?"
Bai Fengqi realized there was another Zhou Mengrou, and he obediently jumped out of the window.
After Bai Fengqi left, Du Ruoxia ignored Zhou Mengrou and looked out the window to check the layout of the Zhou family's residence.
There aren't many places to hide in the Zhou family's basement, and with so many people searching the yard, that's out of the question. So, the only option is inside the house.
Even they couldn't find it, so the entrance must be too well hidden.
Du Ruoxia suddenly realized that it would be much more convenient to have police dogs.
Du Ruoxia wasn't going to sit idly by and wait for her fate; she had to go down and search.
With a single chop to the neck, she knocked Zhou Mengrou unconscious and grabbed a piece of clothing from the room to tie her up.
Du Ruoxia ran into Zhao Jiajun, whom she had met before, as she came downstairs.
"Hello, sister-in-law!" The men looked at Du Ruoxia with admiration.
Peng Guobin looked very uncomfortable; he didn't dare to look at Du Ruoxia.
"Where is Yang Zeyan?" Du Ruoxia searched the area but didn't see him.
The group exchanged glances, but dared not tell Du Ruoxia.
They were shocked and relieved that Du Ruoxia was there to help Yang Zeyan get injured.
"Where did he go?" Du Ruoxia looked at them with a smile again, seemingly without any displeasure.
Peng Guobin rolled his eyes and coughed, "Yingzi, go and check around Baxiantai."
Yingzi was the person closest to Du Ruoxia. He was wondering how to escape when Peng Guobin opened the door for him.
"Hey, hey, I'll go see right away!" Eagle immediately exclaimed excitedly, urging someone to go check.
Du Ruoxia glanced at Peng Guobin, then walked over to the sofa and sat down to wait without saying hello.
Du Ruoxia watched Yingzi and the others circling the Eight Immortals Platform, seemingly lost in thought. The candlesticks on the platform caught her attention.
The Zhou family is not like ordinary families. Even though their average standard of living is average now, the Zhou family's internal affairs are very luxurious and strict. This is why Du Ruoxia has been waiting for them to come and find her.
Because the Zhou family was a mysterious place that could not be entered casually, he showed no unusual behavior when someone came to investigate.
According to Bai Fengqi, when they came in, they only caught a few useless servants.
Du Ruoxia looked at the candlestick with some peeling paint; it looked distinctly different from the others.
Du Ruoxia walked over with a focused expression, "Shh~".
Peng Guobin and Yingzi composed themselves and followed Du Ruoxia's gaze to the candlestick, their expressions suddenly changing.
Everyone looked at each other, and then Peng Guobin directed people to take Du Ruoxia out.
Du Ruoxia frowned, strongly disagreeing with Peng Guobin's plan.
"We can't force our way in," Du Ruoxia said softly.
Peng Guobin frowned and glared at Yingzi, who immediately tried to take her out.
“We have weapons.” Du Ruoxia looked at Peng Guobin seriously.
Although Zhou Mengrou, that rich young lady, was annoying, she had one good point: she couldn't hide her emotions. The expression on her face when talking about her family's weapons confirmed that the Zhou family had an armory.
"Commander Sheng, what should we do now?" Yingzi was undecided.
Peng Guobin was also deep in thought. With Yang Zeyan not around, he couldn't make up his mind for the time being.
"Sister-in-law, the things have arrived!"
Bai Fengqi's voice came over, and the group looked over to see that Bai Fengqi was holding a large tape recorder.
"This thing still belongs to that young lady from the Zhou family; we can't find another one for the time being," Bai Fengqi explained sheepishly.
"No, Bai Fengqi, what are you doing with this? Don't you know what's going on?" Peng Guobin glanced at Du Ruoxia and said unhappily.
"I had him find it. Bai Fengqi, come with me." Du Ruoxia led the way out.
Peng Guobin watched the two walk out with a face full of anger, and Yingzi didn't dare to say a word.
Du Ruoxia returned shortly after leaving and pointed to the Eight Immortals Platform.
"Leave it there, play it at maximum volume!"
Everyone was puzzled. Peng Guobin, with a dark face, was about to go over and stop him when Bai Fengqi quickly placed the machine on the Eight Immortals Platform.
[Listen up, people inside! You only have three minutes. This building contains dangerous materials and must be destroyed immediately. Set it on fire in three minutes!]
[Everyone in the vicinity has been evacuated. The bomb will be detonated in three minutes!]
The radio played Bai Fengqi's recorded voice, but it sounded different from the actual recording.
Two sentences kept playing in the hall, leaving everyone present bewildered. It took them a while to realize what was going on.
Peng Guobin's expression improved, and the others smiled, but Du Ruoxia remained calm.
"Let's go outside," Du Ruoxia said.
As soon as she spoke, everyone moved. Without Peng Guobin needing to say anything, Peng Guobin, looking embarrassed, also followed her out.
It was already dark, and Du Ruoxia asked someone to turn off the lights in the courtyard.
Upon arriving at the courtyard, Bai Fengqi looked at Du Ruoxia with an expression of adoration.
"Sister-in-law, you're amazing! I never expected you to be so ruthless!" Bai Fengqi said, becoming more and more excited.
Du Ruoxia disagreed, "This isn't a 'truth,' it's just a tactic. With this kind of person, you have to catch them off guard and strike when they're not prepared."
Peng Guobin watched from inside without making a sound, but everyone else was waiting for Du Ruoxia to come up with another plan.
"Why are you all surrounding me? Are you lying in wait?" Du Ruoxia urged.
They then remembered that the people inside had weapons!
Du Ruoxia found a spot to hide, a corner next to the main gate, where she could see inside through the window.
Bai Fengqi disagreed, but Du Ruoxia gestured for him to be quiet, and Bai Fengqi squatted down as well.
The tape recorder was still playing, but there was more noise coming from it.
Boss Zhou's woman came out with several henchmen, all of whom were carrying guns, and were cautiously peeking into the hall.
Looking left and right and seeing no one, they first looked puzzled before coming out.
"Why is everyone all naked?" the second brother asked, puzzled.
They had protection, and they managed to escape by quickly hiding inside after receiving the news.
“It’s so quiet outside, boss. I think they’re planning to blow this place up,” said the second-in-command’s henchman.
"Sister-in-law, they're going to blow us up here!" the second brother said anxiously.
"They're crazy! There's so much explosives in here!" The woman was terrified.
"They'd rather destroy everything than miss out. If they go out, they'll be caught; if they don't, they'll die. What do you suggest we do?" the second son asked in a panic.
The woman remained silent in the empty hall.
Du Ruoxia nudged Bai Fengqi, who looked at her questioningly.
Du Ruoxia pointed inside, then pointed to her feet and hands, and finally made a shooting motion towards her own head.
Bai Fengqi received the message and quietly left, leaving Du Ruoxia alone.
Du Ruoxia could take care of one of them, provided the other side didn't try to steal it, but unfortunately they're armed with firearms now.
Less than two minutes later, the person inside started squealing like a pig, and the weapon in their hand fell to the ground.
"Done!" Du Ruoxia clapped her hands and walked out.
She swaggered into the living room, and the people inside were shocked to see her. Du Ruoxia sneered and then squatted down.
