Chapter 25 Xiao Mingcheng

Chapter 25 Xiao Mingcheng

It was quite quiet in the carriage. Yue Li turned around blankly and saw the man leaning on a soft pillow, glancing at her with a half-smile.

"Jiaojiao, what are you looking at so intently?" He Yanchen hooked his arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms. "You got the wrong person. It's too late to regret now."

He had excellent hearing, so he could hear clearly what Ji Ming had just said to her.

Besides, he remembered the first time they met in Jiangning.

At that time, he went to the banquet without revealing his identity, so the prefect only thought that Xiao Mingcheng and his son had the highest status, and Xiao Mingcheng had just made military achievements and was very popular.

At the banquet, the prefect said that he had a beauty to present to Xiao Mingcheng. He Yanchen scoffed at this. During the days when he was in Jiangnan, officials from all walks of life had tried their best to send him women, saying that Jiangnan was full of beauties, but when they really met, they were just so-so.

He was bored sitting at the table, so he went out to get some fresh air to get rid of the smell of alcohol.

During this trip, he actually met a beauty.

Afterwards he found out that this woman was the beauty that the Jiangning prefect intended to present to Xiao Mingcheng.

Yueli had a one-night stand with him and was afraid that he would leave without her. She tugged at his clothes pitifully and cried, saying that she fell in love with him at first sight and didn't want to serve that old and ugly general.

He Yanchen knew at that moment that she had recognized the wrong person. Although Xiao Mingcheng's appearance was not as good as hers, he could also be considered handsome, tall and brave.

Old and ugly? I'm afraid he's talking about Shou'an Hou.

After all, what people in the capital talked about most about Shou'an Hou was his strange appearance, which looked like a crescent moon.

He Yanchen did not explain to Yue Li, but took the person directly to the palace.

Now, she realized that she had recognized the wrong person.

The man curled his lips, but the smile didn't reach his eyes: "Jiaojiao, tell me, what do you think of General Xiao?"

Yueli blinked, and suddenly buried her head in his arms, trying to act coquettishly and get away with it: "I can't see it."

"I only have eyes for Your Majesty, how can I see anyone else?"

He Yanchen pinched her chin and rubbed it gently with his fingertips: "Can't you see?"

He suddenly grabbed the woman's waist and turned her around, pressing her from behind against the window with a diamond pattern. He personally brushed aside the curtains and pointed at her: "Do you see it now?"

Not far away, Xiao Mingcheng was riding on a horse in military uniform. Perhaps because of years of marching, his skin was darker and his figure was taller and more powerful than that of ordinary men.

Yueli said: "I saw it..."

"Then Jiaojiao, you can tell me, between me and him, who is more to your liking?"

The man's hard chest and abdomen were pressed against her back, and his fingers were still stroking her waist, as if he wanted her to give an explanation.

Yue Li didn't dare to say anything else. She turned her head and kissed the man on the side of his cheek: "Of course, Your Majesty, I fell in love with Your Majesty at first sight. Your Majesty must not doubt me!"

"And has your Majesty forgotten? Last time, Xiao Mingyue bullied me. They are siblings, and I hold a grudge."

He Yanchen laughed softly, pulled down the curtain and sat back.

Yueli bit her lip and slowly moved closer: "I like Your Majesty like this."

She was telling the truth. He Yanchen was handsome, powerful, and willing to give her money. He was exactly the man of her dreams.

She wants to be a concubine!

He is just Xiao Mingcheng. Can the Xiao family be as rich and prosperous as the imperial palace?

She doesn't want it.

"Your Majesty~" Yueli gradually softened in the man's arms and tried to change the subject awkwardly. "When we get to the paddocks, Your Majesty, can you teach me how to ride?"

"They all know how to do it, but I, the concubine, don't."

The "they" she was referring to were naturally the concubines who were accompanying them. Yue Li didn't really want to learn much, she just wanted to monopolize He Yanchen and prevent him from watching other women riding horses.

"There are stable boys in the paddock."

Yueli immediately drooped her eyes gloomily: "I want Your Majesty to teach me."

The man stroked her soft black hair and raised his eyebrows slowly, saying, "I'm free?"

"Forget it then. You all go hunting and leave me to die of suffocation in the tent."

She got into a bad mood and spoke without restraint.

He Yanchen frowned and pinched her cheek: "Your temper is getting worse and worse. Who spoiled you?"

"Your Majesty, aren't you asking this despite knowing the answer?" Yue Li pursed her lips. "Are you going to teach me or not?"

"It depends on my mood."

After saying that, he put Yueli aside and picked up a book to read.

Yueli teased him for a long time but he didn't respond, which made her even more frustrated.

An hour later, the Holy Chariot arrived at the enclosure.

Yueli was still sitting on the cushion sulking, looking at him with particularly pitiful eyes.

He Yanchen tapped her forehead, his voice filled with joy: "Get out of the car."

Yueli grabbed his sleeve and asked, "Your Majesty, have you agreed to teach me?"

"I'll find you a good master." He Yanchen thought seriously, "How about Xiao Mingcheng?"

Yueli angrily said, "Your Majesty is deliberately trying to irritate me."

He Yanchen then laughed out loud.

The tents in the camp have been set up. Yueli's tent is very close to the royal tent. People in the palace are all adaptable to the situation. Knowing that she is favored, they naturally reserve the best position for her.

He Yanchen disappeared after getting off the imperial carriage. It seemed that he was busy with something, so Yue Li had to return to her tent, wash up briefly, and seeing that it was not dark yet, she took Lian Qiao out for a walk.

The camp was very large, with the emperor living in the south and his courtiers in the north, but the guards were obviously not as strict as those in the palace.

The air was filled with the fragrance of green grass and the faint cries of animals could be heard.

A small stream flows from the foot of the mountain into the camp, and the sound of the gurgling water is soothing.

Yueli was walking along the stream when she unexpectedly saw an "acquaintance" coming towards her.

Xiao Mingcheng led his troops on an inspection and saw the emperor's new favorite Yu Ronghua from afar.

He stopped and bowed.

Yue Li didn't dare to have any contact with him. She nodded and quickly slipped away.

The woman passed by him, and the faint scent of pear blossoms mixed in the wind. He couldn't help but blush on his dark face.

Xiao Mingcheng couldn't help but look back at her.

She probably had forgotten him long ago.

Xiao Mingcheng suddenly recalled that year in Jiangning, when his colleagues said they would take him to the most prosperous place in Jiangning. When he arrived, he found out it was actually the red-light district. However, Xiao Mingcheng never went after prostitutes, so he left immediately.

He was walking back with his head down when suddenly a pear blossom fell from above and hit him on the head.

After he picked it up, he looked up and saw a woman sitting by the window in the attic next to him, holding a few flowers in her hands.

The woman caught a glimpse of his embarrassment and smiled with her hands covering her lips.

Her slender jade fingers hooked the black hair on her temples and tied it behind her ears. Her autumn-water eyes swept across her, and she was instantly charming and alluring.

Xiao Mingcheng remained there in a daze until the window was closed.

Later he found out that it was Miss Yueli, the top beau of Chunfeng Pavilion.

He had no interest in the banquet hosted by the Jiangning prefect, but when he heard that the prefect had bought Miss Yueli to give to him, Xiao Mingcheng went there for some unknown reason.

Unfortunately, the person didn’t see it, and Your Majesty got there first.
