Chapter 103 Taking Down Two Strong Men and Tying Them Up (1/2)

Qiao Yunni was not completely at ease, but with heavy timber on her shoulders and everyone hurrying along for fear of falling behind, she couldn't help but follow along, quickly giving them instructions.

"Then be careful. If anything seems wrong, run to a restaurant or teahouse; there are lots of people there."

Qiao Lian'er originally thought that the two people might go with her third uncle and the others, but they actually stayed and lingered not far from her.

It seems they really are after her.

She casually strolled through the shops and stalls, eventually finding a shop selling miscellaneous items.

"Young lady, what are you looking to buy?" the shopkeeper asked as he approached.

"I need the strongest ropes, the thickest ones, two of them," Qiao Lian'er said.

"Okay, I'll get it for you." The shopkeeper thought to himself, "A little girl, asking for the strongest rope right off the bat."

However, judging from how thin and small she is, she probably wasn't going to do anything bad.

The boss took the rope off the shelf, and Qiao Lian'er tried it out; it was indeed very resilient.

However, these ropes are quite expensive; one rope costs fifty coins.

After paying the money and putting the rope in his sleeve, Qiao Lian'er came out.

She silently observed for a moment. The two men were still not far away and were walking towards her with long strides, making no attempt to conceal themselves.

To kill her in broad daylight to silence her—is it legal to commit murder in the street these days?

Qiao Lian'er quickened her pace, turning her head slightly to the side, and the two of them quickened their pace as well.

She simply started running.

"Hey—" It sounded like those two people were calling her.

Qiao Lian'er's legs seemed to have wheels of fire, and with all her might, she ran to the alley where she fetched water and disappeared into the dilapidated house.

There were two people working inside, sitting by the well drinking water, when Qiao Lian'er dashed into the bushes.

"Another one here to relieve himself. He's probably in a real hurry. What a buzzkill. Let's get out of here, the stench will start soon."

"Yeah, isn't anyone in charge of this? It's outrageous. People, cats, and dogs are all shoving into the water dispenser."

"That's true, but if you're in a real hurry and the outhouse is far away, would you come here?" The man in front laughed.

"Well, well, that's hard to say."

The two of them talked and then quickly walked out.

Qiao Lian'er was covered in sweat. She was surprised that so many people thought she was urinating or defecating in the grass.

Hearing heavy footsteps outside, it was clear that the two people had arrived.

Qiao Lian'er also quickly made preparations.

"They must be hiding inside, brother. We're not that scary, are we?"

"She actually found out! That little girl is quick-witted." Old Yang, with his dark face, laughed.

The two men's tone of voice did not convey any sense of danger, but the more they did so, the more terrifying it was, because in the face of their power, Qiao Lian'er was like an ant that could be easily crushed.

They searched inside the house and in the yard.

"He's not here, brother. Could he have gone somewhere else?"

“I can feel the presence of people. Let’s look in the bushes,” said Old Yang.

This kind of thatch does not grow upright; instead, it bends down and intertwines when it reaches about half a person's height, forming knots. Therefore, even two tall people cannot see what is happening inside the thicket.

They bent down and parted the thatch.
