Chapter 172 Reencounter with the Pei Brothers, Gathering Information (2/2)

The boy sighed helplessly, "Alright, I'll indulge you for one more day. But you can't cheat tomorrow, or I'll drag you into the carriage."

Riding in a carriage isn't like driving horses, so what's the big deal if your hand is injured? The boy just didn't bother to point it out.

As I strolled along, I ended up at another intersection and ended up on Changqing Street.

I saw a food stall with a long queue of customers, it was very lively.

Pei Shijiu's eyes lit up.

"Brother, the food there must be delicious." He said, quickening his pace.

When the two arrived at the stall, they were surprised to see that the person setting it up was the same little girl they had met the previous morning.

The little girl was preparing the ingredients, her hands and feet moving quickly and efficiently, without stopping for a moment.

She kept her head down and didn't see them.

Pei Shijiu was about to greet him.

"Please, gentlemen, line up at the back of the queue. First come, first served," Qiao Zhizhi said politely with a smile.

Pei Zhujin pulled Pei Shijiu and walked behind the group.

The boy stared at the snacks he had never seen before on the stall, watching the people who bought them eat them with relish, and his mouth watered involuntarily.

"Brother, I've never seen this kind of food before."

"Yes, the South is rich in resources, so it's normal not to have seen them before."

When it was finally their turn to line up, Qiao Lian'er looked up and saw them face to face.

Qiao Lian'er was stunned for a moment, but the two of them seemed to have seen her beforehand.

"Hey little girl, hello there! You didn't expect to see me again, did you?"

Pei Shijiu raised his hand to greet him, revealing his hands covered in scars, which were only symbolically wrapped in two thin strips of cloth.

Pei Zhujin, with his elegant and handsome appearance, smiled and nodded at Qiao Lian'er.

"I thought I'd never see you again. Now that you're at my stall, take whatever you want to eat." Qiao Lian'er took out some oil paper and packed a little bit of each kind of food for them.

"Little girl, are you feeding us for free?" Pei Shijiu asked.

“It’s fate that we met. You rarely come here, and it would be too unfair of me to ask you for money,” Qiao Lian’er said.

After all, I just got twenty taels from them yesterday.

When the two brothers heard her say that, they began to consider her a friend.

The two received the food, tasted it, and found it to be delicious.

"Miss Qiao, I wonder where these things your family sells are grown?" Pei Zhujin asked.

“These are not available in our Daze Kingdom; we import them from foreign merchants.”

"What foreign merchant are you from?"

“From Danqu Kingdom,” Qiao Lian’er said naturally.

Pei Zhujin nodded. The country of Danqu has a wide variety of crops, many of which are unnamed. Only a few of them have been introduced to Dazeguo so far.

Being able to eat here is a blessing.

They ate slowly, talking to Qiao Lian'er as they ate, showing no intention of leaving immediately.

Finally, Qiao Lian'er replaced their plates with plates, and they all sat down at the table.

The two brothers greatly admired Qiao Lian'er's talent, and since he was leaving tomorrow and might not see him again for a long time, they couldn't help but want to say a few more words.

Qiao Lian'er recalled what the uncle had said not long ago.

As if asking casually, "Is everything peaceful in the north, in the capital?"

Pei Zhujin glanced at her, seemingly not quite understanding why she asked that question.
