Chapter 2 Mother, I'll go with you (2/2)

Mrs. Qiao raised her two children alone while living as a widow, yet she ended up in this predicament.

Sigh, let's just say she's had a tough life.

The eldest brother, Song, spoke again: "I have two sons, and I just need a caring daughter. My second brother has two daughters, and he just needs a son to take care of him in his old age. Don't worry, they will all be fine."

If we raise her for another two or three years, Song Lian'er can get married and we can get a dowry. This girl is quite pretty, so we can ask for a higher dowry to help his two sons find wives.

Now that the child is sensible, there's not much need to discipline him, which is great.

She was behaving rather rudely just now; I need to give her a good scolding later and correct her behavior.

Qiao Yunni pulled Song Lian'er in front of her, and then pulled Song Rui'er, who was sitting on a small stool with her head down, up.

"Lian'er, Rui'er, Mother is leaving. From now on, Lian'er will call your eldest uncle and aunt 'father and mother,' and Rui'er will call your second uncle and aunt 'father and mother.' Mother is going to a very far place. Don't miss Mother or look for her. Just live a good life with your eldest and second uncles."

As she spoke, Qiao Yunni felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She tried her best to hold back, but tears still streamed down her face.

What difference is there between this feeling and this scene, and actually cutting a piece of flesh from her heart?

She turned her face away, not wanting her two children to see her tears.

Seeing her mother in such a state, Song Lian'er, though not the original owner of this body, was still filled with anger.

She didn't stop Qiao Yunni. Was there any point in staying in a home like this?

She rolled up her sleeves to wipe her mother's tears, and Qiao Yunni could no longer hold back. She hugged her two siblings and burst into tears.

Song Ruier frowned and struggled slightly, but Qiao Yunni was holding him too tightly, and he couldn't break free for a moment.

"Alright, alright, stop crying. I've packed your things, so hurry up and leave."

Shen walked out of Qiao Yunni's room and threw a tattered bag at her feet.

Inside were nothing more than two worn-out clothes that Shen had changed and washed repeatedly.

Qiao Yunni couldn't bear to part with them and hugged her two children even tighter.

Especially this daughter, who stood up for her and argued for her rights, at least to some extent restored her reputation, so that she wouldn't be despised when her body was left exposed in the wild.

"Don't keep crying and wailing at home. You're not a child anymore. Don't you know it's shameful to cry in front of so many people?" Old Mrs. Song urged, "Get out of here."

Qiao Yunni felt a pang of pain in her heart when she saw how heartless her mother-in-law could be, but there was no point in saying anything more now.

She reluctantly let go of the two siblings, cupping their faces and stroking them. In her heart, she thought, "Don't forget your mother," but what she said was, "Don't worry about your mother."

Urged impatiently by the Song family, Qiao Yunni picked up her luggage from the ground, slung it over her shoulder, and, leaning on her crutch, limped towards the door.

Song Lian'er watched her mother's figure grow smaller and smaller, so thin and pitiful.

“Mother!” Song Lian’er called out loudly.

Qiao Yunni resisted the urge to turn around, afraid that if she did, she would feel reluctant to leave and would be unable to resist kneeling before Old Madam Song.

"Mother." Song Lian'er's voice rose several decibels.

Qiao Yunni turned around subconsciously.

Song Lian'er's expression was firm as she said, word by word, "Mother, I'll go with you."
