A slap landed hard on Song Ruier's face.
"Where did this little brat sneak in from? Trying to kill someone in broad daylight! You're too vicious for your age."
He cursed and then slapped her again.
Song Ruier's face quickly became red and swollen. He could see clearly that she was a girl of about fifteen or sixteen years old, whom he had never seen before, and she was looking very angry.
Hearing the noise, Qiao Dayong opened his eyes and saw Ling Yin holding Song Ruier down and slapping her face.
On the ground lay a brick, a food box, and a broken bowl, with meat porridge spilled all over the floor.
Adding to what Lingyin said, Qiao Dayong had a vague idea of what had happened.
That little bastard, how could he be so treacherous? I knew he wasn't good, but I never imagined he could be this wicked.
Watching Ling Yin hit Song Ruier, Qiao Dayong's lips curled up slightly.
This girl is going crazy for him.
He neither stopped them nor made a sound, but watched quietly.
"Who you are is none of your business. Mind your own business. Do you think you're doing a good deed? Do you think you're so great?"
When Lingyin got tired of hitting her, Song Ruier had a little break and, panting, cursed angrily.
My face was burning with pain; it was almost numb from being slapped so hard.
"It's my business, it's my business!" Ling Yin stood up and started punching and kicking Song Ruier.
She was filled with fear. If she had arrived even a second later, that brick would have already smashed down, cracking Qiao Dayong's head open. A ten-year-old child is quite strong.
"What happened?" The doctors rushed in as well.
A sense of crisis appeared on Song Ruier's face. If he couldn't escape in time, he would definitely be sent to the county government office. Even a ten-year-old child would have to serve a prison sentence for premeditated murder.
Those who have served time in prison are not allowed to participate in scientific examinations.
In that case, his life would be completely ruined.
He suddenly shouted and used all his strength to push Lingyin away. Then he ran to the window, climbed out, and escaped.
Because he moved too fast, he tripped and fell when he jumped down, but he immediately got up and bravely crossed the street and ran into the alley.
The doctors looked at the fleeing people, then at the mess on the ground, their faces full of confusion.
Lingyin then realized how crazy she had been when she hit someone. Her palms throbbed with pain, and her hair was all disheveled.
But she still felt it wasn't enough; that little hooligan should be sent to the yamen (government office).
"I came to check on Brother Dayong and brought him some porridge and rice. I happened to see that kid holding up a brick, standing by the bed, about to smash Brother Dayong's head."
"What? Such a thing actually happened?" The doctors were astonished.
They looked at Qiao Dayong again and saw that he was completely unharmed, which put their minds at ease. Otherwise, how could they explain this to the Qiao family?
The doctor in front said, "That young man said he was the injured man's cousin, so I let him in. It turns out he actually wanted to kill someone."
Dr. Chen's face was serious: "We can't catch that kid. We can only be more vigilant and have everyone check on him in the ward from time to time to prevent this from happening again."
After calming Qiao Dayong down for a while, the doctors went out, closed the windows tightly, barricaded them with something, and called a servant to stand guard at the door.
Lingyin's hair was messy, and she was a little embarrassed to face Qiao Dayong, so she turned her back and used her fingers to comb it and re-tied her hair into a bun.
Qiao Dayong watched her figure, picked up the wooden hairpin she had placed to the side. It was carved with a simple little flower, and it was old and worn, with a faint fragrance of a woman.
He decided to do something.
