Chapter 302 Wow, money is falling from the sky! (2/2)

"Now that the grain has been requisitioned, honesty and integrity are even less valuable."

"A bunch of idiots."

"Only a clever person like me will be blessed by God."

As Lu the Cripple was speaking, he felt a flash of silver light before his eyes. He thought he saw something on the ground, rubbed his eyes, and looked down. His eyes widened in surprise.

That was a large ingot of silver, at least ten taels.

Lu the Cripple looked around immediately, and seeing no one in sight, he almost knelt down in surprise.

“Good fortune comes as soon as you say it, God, you are so good to me, Cripple Lü.”

As he spoke, he nimbly ran over, picked up the silver, wiped it with his sleeve, and then took a solid bite out of it.

It's true.

Lu the Cripple quickly stuffed it into his clothes.

"Oh dear, where can I find my silver? Where did I lose my silver?" came an anxious voice.

Lu the Cripple saw a little girl turn the corner from the side and search the ground.

The girl looked at him and asked, "Uncle, have you found a piece of silver here?"

"No, no, if you really lost your silver, someone else would have picked it up long ago. How could it be my turn?"

As he spoke, Lu the Cripple clutched his chest tightly.

Qiao Lian'er looked at his hand: "Uncle, you're hiding it like that. You didn't find it, did you? We've been taught since we were little to be honest and moral. If we find something that belongs to someone else, we have to return it. Otherwise, it's illegal income and it doesn't count."

Lu the Cripple felt that the girl's eyes held a certain insight, and he suddenly felt a little flustered.

"No, don't talk nonsense. You're just a little girl. See your fists the size of sandbags? You dare to slander your grandpa? I'll beat you until you're begging for your parents."

As he spoke, he brandished his fist.

Qiao Lian'er looked at the fist, which resembled Lu the Cripple's left leg—shrunken and underdeveloped, not much bigger than hers—and couldn't help but burst out laughing. She immediately regained her serious expression.

“I’m sure I lost my silver here, and I’ve only walked a few steps, so it’s impossible for anyone else to have found it.”

"Whether you found it or not, just show me what you're carrying. My silver has a special mark that makes it easy to identify."

Qiao Lian'er took two steps toward Lü the Cripple, her movements conveying a sense of closing in.

For some reason, even though he was facing a little girl, Lu the Cripple felt a chill in his heart and couldn't help but back away.

But when he thought about how she was just a young girl, he figured he could pick her up with one hand and swing her far away, so what was there to be afraid of?

He immediately became full of energy.

"I said I didn't find it, so I didn't find it. You little brat, how dare you question me? If you don't get out of my sight, I'll take your life." Lu the Cripple revealed a fierce look.

"You won't show me the thing because you're guilty." Qiao Lian'er continued walking towards Lü the Cripple, her eyes flashing with a cold light.

In one hand, a dagger flashed out in a flash, capable of severing a hair with a single blow, its cold light piercing to the bone.

She raised the dagger.

"No, don't come any closer."

Lu the Cripple became frightened again. His stronger left hand pressed against the silver in his pocket, while his other hand was no match for the man with the knife, and his leg was lame.

In a moment of panic, he quickly freed his left hand, and as he did so, a large coin fell from his pocket.
