"Assassin! There's an assassin!"
The guard shouted.
More and more soldiers surrounded the figure, chasing after it.
"Father, Father!" Qiao Lian'er shouted as she ran.
"Father, please spare my mother. She is innocent."
In the main hall of the White Building, Guan Yuqin was having snacks with her two children.
When General Guan returned from an hour of training, his face was covered in a thin layer of sweat.
Seeing this heartwarming scene of his daughter and two grandchildren, a look of contentment appeared on his face. Although he was initially reluctant to come here, with his daughter and grandchildren by his side, home is home no matter where he is.
"Yuan Yi is still going to collect taxes?" Guan Yuqin frowned. "I heard that some people are protesting against him because of the tax collection. Maybe we shouldn't go."
"There's nothing we can do about it. No tax collection is done without offending people. He's lowered the standards now, so things should ease up a bit. Yuan Yi was too harsh. I told him to correct himself a long time ago. I hope he learns a lesson. As a general, protecting the country is his duty. He can't push the people too far."
As General Guan spoke, he pulled Guan Xue into his arms and tickled her with his beard.

Guan Song put down his chopsticks and said, "I'm done eating. I'm going to train now."

As Guan Song was heading towards the weapons rack, he saw a young girl running towards him. She was disheveled, covered in sweat, and looked rather disheveled, with soldiers chasing after her.

The soldier leading the chase quickly said.

"An assassin? Who has the audacity to attempt an assassination in the camp?" General Guan slammed his fist on the table and strode out.
Guan Yuqin also carried Guan Xue out of the hall.
Sure enough, a little girl was seen running towards them, unaware and fearless.
“He doesn’t seem like an assassin. He’s so young and doesn’t even have a weapon.” Guan Yuqin shook her head.
"We must not let our guard down. What if he's hiding weapons, or he's a dwarf?" General Guan said with a wary expression.
He immediately drew the sword from his waist.
"You all hide behind me."
As the girl drew closer, General Guan slowly raised his sword.
But when the girl got close, she suddenly knelt down.
"Whose child are you? What are you doing?" General Guan asked, frowning.
"I've come to find my father."
Qiao Lian'er raised her head, looking pitiful: "General, I've come to find my father."
"Nonsense! You've gone mad, kid. What's your father doing here?"
Even soldiers with family members would not easily allow their families to visit the camp, as this would be a violation of regulations, or even trespassing, which could result in execution.
“My father is here, but he doesn’t recognize me anymore. I also have a younger brother, but my father doesn’t want him either.”
"Waaaaah, my brother and I are so miserable."
Guan Yuqin, who also has a brother and sister, felt compassion for her upon seeing her like this: "Having both a son and a daughter is a perfect life. Why doesn't your father acknowledge you?"
“My father, my father became a general, and he looked down on my brother and me, and on my mother.” Qiao Lian’er lowered her head and pressed her sleeve to her eyes.
