Chapter 312 Questioning (1/2)

General Guan stared intently at Qiao Lian'er, his dignified face twitching violently, his lips moving several times, but he couldn't utter a single word.

He couldn't see any trace of the girl lying.

How he wished she was lying, was being silly.

This concerns the well-being of his only daughter and the happiness of his two grandchildren.

Although he couldn't accept Song Yuanyi at first, feeling that there seemed to be a scheming look in his eyes and suspecting that he had some purpose in getting close to Guan Yuqin, and that their family backgrounds were too different.

Later, Guan Yuqin became pregnant, and the news gradually spread throughout the army. It was impossible to keep it a secret, so he had no choice but to grant their wish.

Over the years, Song Laosan has been honest and respectful to him. He knows that Song Laosan's approach to Guan Yuqin is partly due to his own selfish motives. Who doesn't love fame and fortune? But as long as he knows what's important, treats his daughter well, and raises his children with care, he has nothing to say.

Little did I know, it was all a deception from the very beginning.

General Guan closed his eyes, trying hard to calm the surging emotions in his heart.

Guan Yuqin's hands gripped the door frame weakly, and her body slid down.

Two old women immediately came over and helped her to the inner room to rest.

“If even one word you say is false, I will not hesitate to punish your family as well, just because you are young, because they failed to properly discipline you.”

"If I utter a single false word, may I be struck by lightning, die a horrible death, and may my whole family go to hell."

Qiao Lian'er's words were firm and resolute, her resolve unwavering.

General Guan's heart skipped a beat.

The horses reached the gate and then entered the camp.

Two horses were dragging two people. Their hands were tied, and they were walking unsteadily, looking disheveled. There were drag marks on their bodies, their clothes were torn, the ropes were tied very tightly, their wrists were bleeding from struggling, and their faces were also injured.

Qiao Lian'er turned around and looked at this scene. A rare hint of scarlet appeared in her dark and calm eyes.

Her family was humiliated and trampled upon in this way.

Song Laosan, your death is near!

Qiao Lian'er slowly clenched her fingers into her palm and gritted her teeth.

This was the first time she had felt such resentment since coming into this world.

Song Laosan sensed that something was wrong and subconsciously looked up. He saw a small figure kneeling in front of the main camp, but it was not Qiao Lian'er.

General Guan's face, however, seemed to be frozen with millennia-old ice, terrifyingly dark and cold.

Song Laosan's face changed instantly, a sense of crisis rushing to his chest.

"Take the man to the camp's prison," Song Laosan ordered, and rode off on his horse.

Two soldiers strode toward him, followed by several elite soldiers.

They gripped the swords at their waists, exuding an aura of readiness.

"Captain, General Guan has ordered that you bring the two of them to us."

Song Laosan felt a hand gripping his heart, tightening its grip and causing him intense unease.

He steadied himself, his expression a mix of coldness and authority.

“These two are villagers from the neighborhood. They offended me, so I’m going to lock them up in jail to teach them a lesson. It’s a small matter, so there’s no need for General Guan to worry about it.”

One of the soldiers smiled and said, "Captain, General Guan said that we must take him with us. You'd better not disobey General Guan's orders."

Song Laosan had no choice but to obey. With a wave of his hand, the soldiers escorted Qiao Yunni and Qiao Laosan to the main camp.

He just hoped it wouldn't be the situation he was guessing; otherwise, he feared he would be doomed.

General Guan looked at Qiao Yunni. Although she was a village woman, she was beautiful. Compared to her, his daughter was very ordinary.

But Song Laosan abandoned this woman and got close to Guan Yuqin. How much of his sincerity was there in this?
