"Hmph, you've already sold your house and land, what else do you have to pay back? Pay back with your hands."
The boss, used to this, waved his hand, and the henchman's machete fell, instantly severing several of the man's fingers, causing blood to spurt.
"Ah, ahhhhh!" He screamed in agony, his eyelids rolled back, and he fainted.
"Next."
The boss beckoned, and his underling brought in another trembling man, who was then subjected to another round of questioning.
The Song brothers watched, swallowing hard, their faces turning pale.
"Brother, let's forget about it."
"Hmph, you're obviously incompetent. Don't ruin my grand plan."
The eldest son kicked the second son. Despite his fear, the second son mustered his courage and cautiously walked over.
He cursed inwardly, "What a brother! He's just using me as a scapegoat."
Meanwhile, Old Song, with his shifty eyes, followed behind. If anything seemed amiss, he would immediately turn tail and run.
Song Lao Er bowed and greeted the boss.
"What is it? You want to borrow money at exorbitant interest rates too?" The boss glanced at him contemptuously, remaining motionless.
"No, no." Song Lao Er quickly waved his hand, bent down, and lowered his voice.
"I want to ask the boss if there are any people from the Kui Niu Kingdom here."
They asked a few people, but relations between the two countries are a bit tense. When they asked the people of Daze, they were met with disdain, and some even wanted to hit them.
Instead of conspiring together, they might as well just ask the boss directly.
This boss has a fierce face and a burly build. He's ruthless and doesn't hesitate to rip people off, making people tremble with fear.
The boss glanced at him sideways and patted his chest: "I'm from the Kui Niu Kingdom. What do you want? Speak."
The Song brothers exchanged a glance, their eyes lighting up.
Boss Song stepped forward and whispered to the boss, "Boss, we have a big job here that can only be done by people from the Kui Niu Kingdom. You look like someone who can do great things."
Upon hearing this, the boss looked them up and down, and seeing that they were timid and hesitant, and couldn't discern any skill in them, he snorted and felt annoyed at being tricked.
He suddenly sat up straight, stretched out his hands, grabbed the two men respectively, and shoved them together. Their foreheads collided, and they felt dizzy and almost fainted.
"You two bastards, what great skills could you possibly have? Are you itching for a beating, deliberately coming to my doorstep to get a beating?"
Boss Song rubbed his dizzy forehead and gave a smile that looked more like a grimace: "No, boss, it really is a big job. If we were lying to you, may we be struck by lightning."
"Yes, we have come from over a hundred miles away to find you, our destined one. This matter can only proceed to the next step if you are from the Kui Niu Kingdom."
"Boss, there are too many people and too much chatter here, could you please do me a favor?"
The boss stared at their faces, and seeing that they really seemed serious, he casually tossed the person forward.
He stood up and walked towards the back room: "Come with me."
The two men were thrown to the ground, grimacing and in pain, thinking bitterly, "That bastard is really strong."
But they dared not show their dissatisfaction, so they quickly dusted themselves off and limped after them.
Unlike the brightly lit front hall, the back room was dimly lit by only two candles. The flickering light cast a strange, eerie green glow on the face of the Kui Niu Kingdom boss.
The Song brothers knelt in front of their boss.
"That's right, a military unit from the Kui Niu Kingdom has secretly entered the border area of the Great Swamp Kingdom—"
Before Song Laoda could finish speaking, the Kui Niu Kingdom boss's expression suddenly changed. He grabbed Song Laoda's collar and pulled him up in front of him.
