"Wei Chi?" Shi Nanfu thought carefully. "I've never heard of this person. Is there anything wrong with him?"
"He brought a portrait of a child and wanted an adult to draw what the child would look like when he grew up."
Shi Nanfu frowned, clearly displeased, and his voice carried a hint of sternness.
"Who told them?"
"We subordinates have kept our mouths shut, and we don't know how the news leaked out. It's possible that this person inquired around and found out about you, sir."
Qiao Lian'er felt that the atmosphere in the private room suddenly became oppressive. She didn't know if it was because it had gotten colder outside, but a gust of wind entered through the doors and windows, and a chill crept into her body.
She subconsciously looked at Shi Nanfu, whose pair of bright blue eyes were already filled with a chilling aura.
Shi Nanfu's long, slender fingers tapped slowly on the table, emanating an imposing aura.
He uttered a sentence that startled Qiao Lian'er.
"Kill this person."
"Lord Shi, you mustn't!" Qiao Lian'er quickly interjected.
Shi Nanfu then realized that Qiao Lian'er was still there. He suppressed his oppressive aura and sighed softly.
“Miss Qiao, I have a natural talent for drawing a person’s appearance based on physical descriptions or behavioral habits. I can usually achieve a 70-80% accurate representation.”
"But only my two closest subordinates, as well as Young Master Pei and Young Master Pei, know about this ability. I kept this secret because it is of great use. I never expected that it would be known by someone whose name I have never even heard of."
“Besides him, anyone who revealed this to him must also be executed. Only then can the two young masters and I feel at ease.”
The Pei family used this ability of his to identify and deal with those who were at odds with them without making any contact, leaving no trace.
"Lord Shi, I don't know exactly what role your ability played, but I know this person, and I hope you will spare his life."
"You know him?" Shi Nanfu asked, somewhat surprised.
"Yes, I have a good older sister and a good friend. He is my older sister's lover. If he dies, my older sister will be heartbroken."
Shi Nanfu paused for a moment: "The person you want to protect certainly won't cause me any trouble."
He greeted the person outside, "Please come in."
Qiao Lian'er understood Shi Nanfu's meaning: Wei Chi should keep this secret, otherwise it would be difficult for him to handle the situation.
Wei Chi entered the private room. Perhaps because of the cold weather, he looked a little more haggard than the last time I saw him, but he stood tall and exuded a sense of neatness.
He was a little surprised to see Qiao Lian'er there, and then looked at Shi Nanfu, wondering if he had come to the wrong place.
"Brother Wei, please sit down. I know Lord Shi." Qiao Lian'er brought over a cup and poured him a cup of tea.
"Okay, thanks." Wei Chi finally realized what was going on.
A steaming cup of tea was pushed in front of him, and a hint of emotion flickered in his eyes.
He was cold to her last time, but this little girl didn't mind at all.
Despite the dead of winter, Wei Chi was still dressed in a tight-fitting outfit, only wearing a thin cloak. After taking a sip of tea, he felt much warmer.
Shi Nanfu silently observed the man opposite him, his eyes filled with vigilance.
He seems to be a stubborn person; once he's made up his mind, he won't easily change it, so there's not too much to worry about.
"Lord Shi, if you can help me, I will reward you handsomely." Wei Chi took out a painting from his pocket, unfolded it, and placed it on the table.
They stated their purpose directly.
