Chapter 387 The Little Hero Has Arrived (1/2)

For Wei Chi, the only good news was that his cousin had been found; nothing else mattered.

So there was no expectation on his face; he just thought Gao Shuying was joking.

His body was limp, and being carried by her like this felt like being trapped in the hands of a female eagle.

Looking at those familiar features, that face that had appeared countless times in his dreams, Wei Chi's gaze became lazy, his expression somewhat detached, and he showed no intention of resisting at all.

You could even be a little more capricious.

"So you're finally planning to leave the state government? That's a good thing."

Finding my cousin now is impossible. If there's anything good happening, it's this one.

He truly didn't want her to be constantly toiling away in unknown dangers.

Gao Shuying looked at Wei Chi with disdain, then loosened her grip. With a heavy thud, Wei Chi slumped into the chair, as if two of his bones were broken, wincing in pain.

"Miss Chu has been found."

Gao Shuying sat down opposite her.

A casual remark made Wei Chi jump up immediately: "What? Say it again."

Gao Shuying poured herself a glass of wine and leisurely took a sip.

"I found it, the girl came to tell me the good news late at night."

"Tomorrow, we'll take Uncle Chu and Aunt Chu to meet their relatives."

That girl is quite capable; Wei Chi found it believable that she was the one who found the person.

"If it's true, my aunt and uncle won't have to go through so much trouble," Wei Chi murmured, a huge weight lifted from his heart, though not completely.

He's been searching for so many years and still hasn't found her. What if that girl thinks she's found her but has actually found the wrong person? Even though he has a portrait and a birthmark, it would be too fast to find her now.

“My sister is a local strategist at such a young age. She’s reliable and won’t say anything she’s not sure about.” Gao Shuying basically believed her completely.

"With a portrait and a birthmark, the person might be within her acquaintance range, and a match could easily be made."

Gao Shuying is getting closer and closer to the "truth".

"Perhaps." Wei Chi nodded.

"I'll go find my aunt and uncle right now."

He stood up, a glint of light in his eyes. This had to be true; after all these years, it was time for this matter to come to an end.

As he passed by Gao Shuying, a surge of fervent emotion welled up within him.

He stopped, bent down, and quickly placed a kiss on her forehead.

Then they left in a hurry.

Gao Shuying's face flushed instantly, and as she watched Wei Chi's disappearing figure, her eyes welled up with tears.

This wasn't the first time something like this had happened; it happened when she was fifteen.

Later, Wei Chi entered the state government office and devoted himself to that mission, seemingly a lifelong, endless task.

Does his current action indicate that all of this is coming to an end?

Gao Shuying placed her hand on her heart, her heart pounding. How she wished that this time, she wouldn't be disappointed.

The next day, after breakfast, Qiao Lian'er asked Da Cheng to wait for her at the inn, as she was going to visit the Chu family.

Compared to its usual quietness, the Chu family courtyard was unusually lively.

"Brother-in-law, these are my most capable and elite soldiers. They will all go and protect you."
