Chapter 458 Mistakenly Taking His Sister-in-Law's Handkerchief as a Token of Connection (2/2)

She took a few quick steps when she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. She instinctively pressed her stomach, her facial features contorting in pain.

After calming down a bit, I was about to pick up the blanket.

Just then, a voice suddenly echoed in my mind: "Sister-in-law."

It looks familiar, like Lian'er? Lian'er is back? Ling Yin looked around, but didn't see Qiao Lian'er.

“Sister-in-law, did you hear that? Don’t be surprised, I’m in the capital, and I’m using a special method to talk to you,” Qiao Lian’er said again.

Lingyin was still very surprised. Such a thing was too unbelievable. However, thinking about Lian'er, there were so many inexplicable things about her. The Qiao family all understood the situation without saying a word.

She tentatively asked, "Lian'er, is it really you? That's wonderful, it's great to be able to talk to you like this. Are you doing well in the capital?"

As she spoke, she reached for her blanket. She was happy to be able to talk to Lian'er like this, but unfortunately, it wasn't the right time.

Qiao Lian'er could tell that Ling Yin's voice was a little stiff and seemed to be trembling. Could it be that she was frightened?

It's unlikely; Lingyin wouldn't be that timid.

She had a keen sense that something was wrong.

"I'm fine, sister-in-law. What happened?" Her tone was a little lower.

Sure enough, her reaction didn't fool Lian'er, even though she had tried her best to restrain herself.

Lingyin's tears flowed instantly. Just now she felt terrified and helpless, but now, it was as if she had found someone to rely on.

She could keep quiet about this matter with the Qiao family for now, lest it cause chaos, but Lian'er is different. Lian'er is resourceful and capable of resolving issues.

"Lian'er, Lian'er, something's happened! Your brother Dayong is in trouble!" she said in a trembling voice, her voice trembling with sobs.

"Sister-in-law, don't rush, tell me slowly," Qiao Lian'er said. "As long as the sky hasn't fallen, I'll hold it up."

So Lingyin told him everything she had just heard.

"Your brother Dayong, you're in such a terrible state. You've been stabbed so many times, even your intestines are—" She couldn't finish her sentence; she couldn't even bear to imagine what it was like.

Qiao Lian'er frowned: "Were those two people who passed by the side wall from the village?"

"It should be. The voice sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it."

"They left right after they finished speaking, and I didn't see them."

“I didn’t dare tell my family. When I heard you talking, I was laying something down, preparing to climb out of the window to see what was going on. Those two people even gave me a specific address. I can find your brother Dayong, but I don’t know if he has been moved to the new location yet.”

Qiao Lian'er pondered, "Sister-in-law, perhaps it's a trap."

"A trap?" Lingyin was taken aback.

"That's right, they described Brother Dayong's miserable condition and even gave his address. They also happened to be passing by your window. The details are too perfect. Is it really that much of a coincidence?"

Qiao Lian'er sneered. She had just received a letter from the Guan family that the troops had already set off and she needed to go to the Emperor's presence.

Several members of the Qiao family were sent to the capital, and some people, either the Shen family or the Song family, were eager to make a move.

My sister-in-law is heavily pregnant. If she goes out alone, she will be like a fish on a chopping block, and her loved ones will be saddened while her enemies will rejoice.

"Keep calm and do as I say. You'll soon find out whether it's true or not."

"Okay, Lian'er, you tell me, I'm ready."
