"To put it simply, there are some things I'm not quite clear about and would like to ask you about them. I wonder if you would be willing to do me the favor?" Uncle Yin leaned forward with a smile, giving off an indescribable sense of pressure.
"Uncle, you don't need to be so polite with me. It's just that there are many things I don't know, and I'm afraid I'll disappoint you." Dansuo tried his best to be honest, and in fact, he wasn't lying.
"Just tell me what you know." Uncle Yin picked up his teacup and took a sip, then leaned back as if casually asking, "Today, people from the Jiang and Lu families from Daze Kingdom came and went to Miss Shui's mountain. Did they come to buy stones from Miss Shui?"
Although Uncle In seemed to be just chatting out of curiosity, his eyes were fixed on Danso, exerting invisible pressure.
“Yes,” Danso admitted immediately. “They took the stones with them.”
Uncle Yin was satisfied with his attitude and slowly tapped his fingers on the table: "It's just that so few people have come, unlike before. What are they thinking by doing this?"
But after thinking about it carefully, I realized, "I was far away at the time and didn't hear what they were saying clearly, but I did hear the word 'discount,' which seemed to be the Water Maiden giving them a discount."
He felt that this could be explained, since the Jiang and Lu families must have had a reason for buying the stone; only a discount could make them willing to abandon other warehouse areas and choose Water Girl.
"The discount is one reason, but I've cooperated with the Jiang and Lu families many times, and their demands are quite high. The stones from Miss Shui's mine aren't very good, so if we lower the price, they'll be eager to buy them. If we bring back such goods, the head of the family won't be happy."
Uncle Yin's lips curled up, his eyes flashing with a sharp, insightful light.
"Could it be that Miss Shui has a very valuable stone?"
Seeing Uncle Yin pressing him step by step, Dan Su broke out in a cold sweat. He was only fourteen years old, and the only reason he was able to hold his ground was because he had often dealt with these kinds of people before and had seen a lot of storms and the world.
He swallowed silently, his mind racing: "It's not surprising that you can find some good stones in the mine, especially since Uncle Yin's mine has even more good stones."
Uncle Yin stared at him for a few seconds, then suddenly laughed. His laughter seemed to hide a hint of cruelty, but Suo couldn't help but shudder.
Suddenly, Uncle Yin stood up, walked to Danso's side, and slapped him hard on the shoulder: "Dansso, your answer is really smart. I underestimated you before. Miss Shui has only been here for a short time, and you are already so loyal to her. You don't care about our past friendship at all."
“How much does she pay you a month? I can pay you double. You poor kids, all you want is a few pieces of silver.”
But Suo was in pain from the slap, his features contorted, and cold sweat poured down his forehead: "Uncle Yin, that's really all I know. I'm just a servant, it's impossible for me to get too much information from Miss Shui."
Uncle Yin stared at him, looking down at him: "I only want one answer. Tell me honestly, are there many valuable stones in Miss Shui's mine? Where did she hide these stones? Why can't I find them?"
Dansuo shook his head with difficulty: "I don't know, I really don't know, Uncle Yin, please let me go."
Uncle Yin slowly picked up a sandalwood cane from beside the chair, his eyes growing colder. He raised the cane high, but Suo, with his head down, saw the shadow of the raised stick and couldn't help but shrink back.
But he still gritted his teeth and closed his eyes.
Uncle Yin's expression was cold, and his cane fell mercilessly, landing squarely on Dan Suo's back. The force was so great that it threw Dan Suo off his chair and onto the ground, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood.
