Uncle Yin slightly turned his head, and a sharp glare swept over him, making Military Governor Zaga tremble in fright.
He saw Uncle Yin's profile, and yes, it was exactly the same as before, both in appearance and in that air of authority.
"Commander Zaga, have you completed the tasks that Miss Shui entrusted to you these past few days?" Uncle Yin asked slowly.
"Everything went smoothly and proceeded in an orderly manner. Miss Shui is also satisfied." Commander Zaga said, giving Qiao Lian'er a flattering look.
“Very good, keep it up. I need to rest and cultivate my mind now, so I can't come out to guide you often. Just listen to Miss Shui’s instructions.”
"Yes, yes."
Despite his respectful demeanor, cold sweat rolled down his back.
He was certain that the original Uncle Yin was dead, and now another Uncle Yin had appeared, with no difference except for his attitude towards Miss Shui.
This is terrifying, this is unbelievable.
How did the Water Maiden manage to do that?
Night had fallen, and the newly dug stones were moved into the warehouse. Qiao Lian'er went down to inspect the goods.
The adjutant was making a record, and Military Governor Zaga followed behind, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.
"Speak freely, Commander," Qiao Lian'er said, stopping the conversation.
“That’s how it is, Miss Shui. Sangkun will arrive tomorrow, and he definitely won’t want to see her. Since Uncle listens to you so much, he might cause a scene,” said Military Governor Zaga.
He now owns another mine and earns more than before. Moreover, Miss Shui is actually a good person, unlike Uncle Yin who always puts pressure on him and covets his mine like a venomous snake. He hopes the situation will always remain this way.
People are most concerned with their own interests. As long as their interests are not harmed, or even increased, who would go against the current situation?
“I understand your concerns, but you have to believe that Uncle Yin is very adaptable. In front of his son, he is no different from before.”
She went to Uncle Yin's warehouse area to appraise stones every day. Although it was always at night, someone would always notice her. But that made sense, because Uncle Yin needed her appraisal skills.
The next morning, Sangkun arrived, leading a cavalry team to the warehouse area with great speed and efficiency.
Like most people from Puchen, Sangkun had a dark complexion and was around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, resembling a younger version of Uncle Yin.
He dismounted, first took a look at the stones, asked the soldiers a few questions, and then went into the stilted house.
"Father." He went in and instinctively looked around, because he had heard that his father hadn't shown up for a long time.
However, he soon saw that Uncle Yin was sitting cross-legged facing the inner wall, with a transparent screen behind him, and tea steam rising in front of him.
It remained as solemn and majestic as ever, but now it possessed an added air of mystery.
Thinking of the rumors circulating recently, Sangkun walked around the screen to take a look at the real person.
Uncle Yin was almost fifty years old, with a few streaks of white hair on his head. He wore a white robe and held prayer beads in his hand, each bead engraved with the image of Naga Buddha.
Sangkun was filled with respect and relieved, but he still had doubts.
Uncle Yin seemed to be resting with his eyes closed: "Sang Kun, you've arrived. Why so quickly this time?"
“Father, I’ve heard some bad rumors.” Sangkun sat on the side cushion, looking at Uncle Yin.
“Some people say they haven’t seen you in a long time. You used to receive caravans and handle various affairs every day, but now you’ve handed it all over to your adjutant. Although Ya’ang is trustworthy, he is still an outsider. You can’t entrust everything to him like this.”
