“Master, sir—” The old nanny’s voice trembled.
Lord Jiang's face turned ashen; everything Lady Wei said had reached his ears.

Hearing the somber questioning, which sounded like a judgment from the gods, Madam Wei became even more frightened. She had done so many wrong things, and now they were all about to be exposed, leaving her with nothing. Her spirit was on the verge of collapse.
Perhaps if she speaks out, she might receive a lighter punishment.
Mrs. Wei now seems like someone who has fallen into the water and is on the verge of drowning, grasping at a straw for salvation.
She recounted everything she had done back then in great detail.
Lord Jiang closed his eyes and finally managed to calm himself down.
