"What did you just say?" Xu Zhaoyue doubted that she had heard correctly. She could understand Xu Zhaoming wanting to deal with her, but the fact that Assistant Qi in front of her was actually her father's man made it possible for her to start thinking about this.
Assistant Qi thought Xu Zhaoyue didn't believe him, so he said very seriously, "It is indeed the Second Miss who wants to deal with you. Xu Zhaoyue was exhausted when she got home. "Miss, you're back! I made some soup, please try it later. Aunt Wu said I made it quite well this time." Yue Lanxing had been waiting at the door for a long time and went to greet the young lady as soon as her car arrived.
When Xu Zhaoyue got out of the car, she saw that Yue Lanxing's face had recovered. He looked much better and seemed more energetic. She was surprised to see him as soon as she got home, but then she was happy.
"It's so nice to have someone waiting for you at home," Xu Zhaoyue remarked. It felt so warm to have someone cooking soup at home and waiting for her to come back. She was saying this as she walked in, and Yue Lanxing, who was next to her, immediately widened her eyes.
However, he quickly composed himself and asked, "What has happened to you lately, Miss? Who has upset you?" Yue Lanxing sensed the displeasure in the young lady's tone regarding something.
"Sigh!" Xu Zhaoyue sighed. "Let's eat first, lest we lose our appetite later."
“Okay.” Yue Lanxing followed the young lady to the restaurant. “I’ll go and ask them to serve the dishes and bring the soup over.”
"Miss, you're finally back! My job in the kitchen has been taken away from me." Xiao Nan ran over to complain to Xu Zhaoyue. "Really? He's not around often anyway. From now on, you'll be in charge. Just relax a bit and keep an eye on him." Xu Zhaoyue said with a smile.
"Oh right, I'm going to the kitchen now." Xiao Nan said and hurried off.
A little while later, Yue Lanxing and Xiao Nan came over together. Yue Lanxing was carrying a soup he had stewed, and Xiao Nan was carrying a plate of vegetables. "Miss, these are pumpkin pancakes that I learned to make. They are soft, sticky, and sweet. Aunt Wu said so herself."
"Miss, please try this first." Xiao Nan picked up a piece of pumpkin cake and placed it on Xu Zhaoyue's plate, looking at her expectantly, waiting for her comments.
"Pumpkin pancakes are sweet, but it's not good if they're too sweet. You can have some loquat and red date soup, which is good for your lungs." Yue Lanxing ladled out a bowl of soup and placed it in front of Xu Zhaoyue.
