She's all better now, so should she continue her studies or not? Xu Zhaoyue looked at the calendar and then at the fog outside the window. She decided to continue her studies. It was already surprising enough that she came out of the country. The young lady who was supposed to join the company suddenly wanted to study abroad. When her stepmother found out about this, she almost thought that she was playing hard to get.
If she were to suddenly go back, she would have to deal with a whole bunch of people again. Oh well, it's only a year. She'll just treat it as a buffer period so that if she goes back and her behavior changes, it won't attract attention again.
After thinking it through, Xu Zhaoyue tossed the calendar to the foot of the bed, lay back down, closed her eyes, and quickly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Xu Zhaoyue's biological clock woke her up promptly at 7:30. "Little Pumpkin, what's happening today..." Xu Zhaoyue asked subconsciously in her mind, and then it took her a while to realize that she was already back.
"Hoo..." After taking a few deep breaths, Xu Zhaoyue sat up in bed. She was still on the ship. Should she do something to kill time?
Just as she was lost in thought, a dull knocking sounded on the door, "knock knock."
"Xiao Nan?" Xu Zhaoyue opened the door and asked unconsciously when she saw the person who came in. "Miss, this is today's breakfast menu. What would you like to order? Wu Ma will go and get it later." Xu Xiao Nan came to ask the young lady's opinion as usual.
Xu Zhaoyue took the menu and glanced at it. "Pumpkin porridge? Hmm, I'll have a basket of vegetable buns and pumpkin porridge."
"Okay, what color clothes would you like to wear today, Miss? Xiao Nan will go and pick out some jewelry for you," Xiao Nan asked again.
"Blue is fine, and also prepare a sun umbrella so we can sunbathe on the plywood later." After giving these instructions, Xu Zhaoyue saw Xiao Nan about to leave and called her back before she could even think straight.
"Wait a minute..."
Xiao Nan hadn't even taken two steps when she heard the young lady calling her, and she immediately strode back. "What else do you need, young lady?" Just thinking about what task the young lady was going to give her made Xiao Nan inexplicably excited.
Xu Zhaoyue saw her eyes light up. Being looked at with such a worshipful gaze made her feel better. Xu Zhaoyue smiled and said, "I just wanted to ask, is there any difference between me today and yesterday?"
Xiao Nan was taken aback by the young lady's question. Although she didn't know why the young lady asked that, she still looked up and observed her carefully for a moment. Her skin was still so white. The young lady's skin was always like milk. Her forehead, eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth were all examined by Xiao Nan. They were still as beautiful as ever, without any changes.
"No change? Hmm?" Xu Zhaoyue was amused by Xiao Nan's puzzled look, and even the end of her voice rose slightly.
Xu Zhaoyue's voice was still a little hoarse from just waking up; this sounded less like a question and more like a coquettish plea.
Xiao Nan shook her head to bring herself back to her senses, and then answered the question honestly, "No, if I had to say, Miss looks better. Is it because Miss wasn't used to the cabin a few days ago?"
"However, even the highest-class cabin can't compare to a bed at home. It's really unfair to you, Miss."
Xu Zhaoyue watched as Xiao Nan drifted further and further away from her words, then raised her hand and tapped her forehead. She heard a soft "thump" sound. "Miss, why did you flick me?" Xiao Nan didn't feel any pain, but she still rubbed her forehead and asked with a puzzled look.
"You're getting more and more excited. If you keep going, what will happen to my breakfast?" Xu Zhaoyue gestured with her eyes to the menu Xiao Nan was holding. "Oh, Miss, please wait a moment. It'll be ready soon." After realizing what she meant, Xiao Nan slapped herself and then hurriedly left.
Xu Zhaoyue watched her departing figure and smiled helplessly. But was her complexion really better than before? Xu Zhaoyue wondered if Xiao Nan was lying to her. She decided to take a look in the mirror and see for herself.
"It seems really good." Xu Zhaoyue sat on the chair in front of the dressing table, picked up the mirror and examined herself for a moment. Finally, she felt relieved. It seemed that her illness was really cured.
In a cheerful mood, Xu Zhaoyue turned to look at a wardrobe. She happened to have brought a newly made blue dress with her on this trip, which matched the sea perfectly.
When Xiaonan and Wu Ma returned, Xu Zhaoyue had already changed her clothes. "Miss, this is breakfast." Wu Ma carried the plates to the table and took out the items from each plate. "Miss, these buns and pumpkin porridge are just right, not too hot or too cold. I also brought you some rose tea."
"Thank you, Aunt Wu, for being so thoughtful." Xu Zhaoyue sat down in the chair, looking at the golden pumpkin porridge in front of her. Her appetite increased, and she picked up a spoon and took a bite. It was just right. "Hmm, the sweetness is just right, but this pumpkin is still not as good as fresh one."
"If Miss likes it, I'll buy some fresh pumpkin when we get there. I wonder if Great Britain has as many varieties of vegetables as China." Seeing her enjoying the food made Aunt Wu happy too.
Xu Zhaoyue took a bite of the vegetable bun, looked at the filling inside, and replied, "Maybe Aunt Wu can still grow vegetables there."
"That's wonderful. I'm very good at growing vegetables; they're all exceptionally fresh and vibrant. Miss, please eat first, and I'll come back to clean up later," Aunt Wu replied before taking her leave.
After Aunt Wu closed the door, Xiao Nan spoke up, "Miss, do you think these pieces of jewelry are alright? Since there wasn't a blue hat, I took the yellow and black ones."
“Hmm, that’s fine too. By the way, we didn’t bring anything when we came up. How much stuff did Xu Dachuan bring up beforehand?” Xu Zhaoyue beckoned to her to come and sit down.
