Dr. Feng agreed with her cautious consideration, "Yes, just to be on the safe side, I'll let him rest for two more days after he comes back, and then let him observe other surgeries first."
After the matter was settled, Xu Zhaoyue and Manager Hong went to check on Quan Quan. The child already knew he needed surgery and would no longer need to stay in the hospital after the surgery.
"Sister, sister, I really want to have the surgery soon so I can go back to school." Quan Quan had never had a formal education before, and all she wanted was to have friends when she went to school.
"Quan Quan, you really want to go to school. You can have the surgery in another week, but you'll need a recovery period. During that time, you'll have to be able to endure the loneliness and rest quietly."
Xu Zhaoyue took a comb and tidied up Quan Quan's messy hair. Manager Hong, who was standing next to her, couldn't help but get a little teary-eyed when she saw this. If Xu Zhaoyue hadn't come back, who knows how long her grandson would have had to wait.
"Grandma, are you going to cry?" Quan Quan had just finished combing his hair when he turned to look at his grandma and saw her secretly wiping away tears. He didn't understand the adults' attempts to hide their tears, so he blurted it out.
Xu Zhaoyue saw it too, but she didn't say anything; it was inevitable that she was somewhat emotionally agitated.
"Oh, you little rascal, you saw everything! Come here, Grandma will hold you." Manager Hong quickly put on a smiling face and went to hug Quan Quan.
Quan Quan climbed out of bed and stretched out his little arms to hug his grandma's neck. "Grandma, don't cry, Quan Quan will wipe your tears."
Xu Zhaoyue had already reached the door when she saw the tender moment between the grandmother and grandson. Not wanting to disturb them, she went out. Just then, she saw Yue Lanxing waiting for her at the corner.
Yue Lanxing thought she would have to wait a while, but she didn't expect the young lady to come out so quickly. She immediately straightened up from her leaning against the wall, which successfully amused Xu Zhaoyue.
"Aren't you bored standing here?" Xu Zhaoyue walked towards him.
Yue Lanxing watched as the young lady walked towards him with a bright smile, his heart pounding in his chest. "I'm not bored. The young lady is right here in the ward. What could I possibly be bored about?"
He stepped forward and reached out to take Xu Zhaoyue's hand. This time, he didn't hesitate at all and took her hand very easily.
Xu Zhaoyue let him hold her hand, and the two walked down the long corridor.
Once outside, they automatically separated. Xu Zhaoyue noticed that he remembered not to let outsiders know about their relationship, and his actions were so natural that they didn't seem like they were in a secret relationship.
The next day, I arrived at the Fang family's house as planned.
Xu Zhaoyue had specifically told Brother Fang beforehand that she had something important to discuss with him, so this time they went directly to the gate. After Xu Zhaoyue got out of the car, she went to the study with Brother Fang.
"Oh, Little Crescent Moon, what's the matter? You sound so serious. Tell me and I'll sort it out for you," Brother Fang said magnanimously.
Xu Zhaoyue shook her head. "Not now, but I'm afraid I might need it later, so I'm keeping a backup plan."
Her words made Boss Fang frown. "What do you mean? Who wants to harm you? Or have you heard some news?" Otherwise, he wouldn't have come to him.
The eldest son of the house went through it in his mind and found that the Xu family's business was thriving recently and there were no problems at all.
"Oh dear, it's my dad. He's planning to make my younger brother his heir, even though he doesn't want to right now," Xu Zhaoyue sighed, feeling utterly helpless.
"What? Is your dad planning to remove you from your position? Where would he remove you if there are no problems?" The eldest son of the house immediately understood after speaking; any problem could be addressed according to need.
Xu Zhaoyue's purpose in coming here was to steer the conversation in this direction. She needed to ensure that her belongings were not taken by others during her absence, and even if she were to get them back later, it would be hindered.
If she wanted to retain a means that couldn't be taken away from the beginning, the biggest means she could access was the Fang family. Of course, the Yue family, with Yue Lanxing involved, would also work.
“I’ve been thinking these past few days, what if something happens to me? Wouldn’t all my mother’s hard work be for nothing?” Xu Zhaoyue’s mother is from the Jin family in Beijing and is the eldest son’s senior in school.
Fang Laoda even regarded Jin Tingyu as his idol at one point. Of course, Jin Tingyu did not disappoint him. She was the one who laid the foundation for the Xu family. It was just a pity that she passed away early.
"So what do you want to do?" Boss Fang asked directly, without trying to persuade Xu Zhaoyue to calm down. But after thinking for a moment, he added, "He is, after all, your father. He wouldn't put you in any danger, would he?"
Xu Zhaoyue nodded, "Yes, we are related by blood after all, but it's better to be safe than sorry. If there are any opportunists trying to take advantage of the situation, it will be even harder to control."
"So I want Brother Fang to help me contact the Jin family. It's not that I want to contact them, but there are some things that my mother originally owned half of, and I should inherit them."
"If something really goes wrong, I want the Jin family to take it back, as a way of thanking them for taking care of me."
Xu Zhaoyue had been taken care of by the Jin family. Before her mother passed away, she called her parents and brother over. The Jin family had carefully planned and handed them over to her, leaving nothing behind.
“Back then, my maternal grandparents and uncles came to help me, but we haven’t been in touch for years. I was afraid they wouldn’t want to see me, so I haven’t been to the capital,” Xu Zhaoyue said, recounting the past.
The eldest son of the house also recalled that time. He thought the Jin family had come to take their things back, but he didn't expect them to come to support their granddaughter.
“Oh, you’re family, how could you have such a deep grudge? Perfect timing! I’m going to the capital tomorrow to discuss business, and I’ll make a special trip to the Jin family to deliver your message.”
