Chapter 14 Coptis chinensis

Yue Lanxing knew he was joking, but he was still displeased, and his face turned cold. Huang Lian thought he had angered him again. She should have known better than to be so sarcastic. Having this disease was already troublesome enough.

Just as Huang Lian was about to change the subject, Yue Lanxing had already adjusted her mindset. "It's nothing. I work under the young lady, and a few maids made mistakes. I accidentally bumped into one of them while I was supervising them."

"Oh, why don't you just kick her away? Wait, Miss? Xu Zhaoyue! When did she get back?" Huang Lian immediately caught the key words: Miss is Xu Zhaoyue.

Yue Lanxing nodded. "They came back on Monday morning. I picked them up with the young master. Isn't this Xu's Hospital? This lab you and Uncle Huang have is an investment from the Xu family. Do you know the young lady?"

"I don't really know her. I've been staying in the lab the whole time and haven't had a chance to get to know her. She was supposed to come and inspect last year, but I didn't expect her to go abroad to study." Huang Lian finally finished drawing blood.

Yue Lanxing was still sitting there, covering her face with a cotton swab. "Miss said she's going to work at the company, and she'll come to see your experimental results then, right?"

"Sigh, if we're going to look at something, we should go over there first. Our research direction isn't suitable for large-scale promotion. We've already poured a lot of money into it. Xu Zhaoming even wanted to shut down our lab before."

"Later, it was Master Xu who said that the company should be responsible to outsiders, so he kept me on." Huang Lian said with a sense of melancholy, but she immediately recovered. "Now that you are working under Miss, once you rise up, please say a few good words for us."

“I can’t do anything else, but Miss seems very easy to talk to. If the research requires investment, she will make her own judgment.” Yue Lanxing denied the assumption that she could get in, but still spoke well of Xu Zhaoyue.

After Huang Lian carefully preserved his blood, she took out a bottle of medicine from a drawer. "This is freshly made. Actually, your illness is under good control. It's just that you can't get married. A good man should have ambitions beyond his hometown and not be bound by romantic feelings."

"Thank you for your advice, but I never really had any plans to get married." Yue Lanxing took the medicine. "I'm leaving now. I'll come back after I finish the medicine. You don't need Xuanxuan watching me every day."

"Isn't it because you never come? Honestly, Xuanxuan is much more obedient than you." Huang Lian muttered. Yue Lanxing heard this but didn't say anything and went out.

After getting the medicine, Yue Lanxing changed buses several times to get home. "Woof woof..." Before she even stepped into the house, she heard Qingying barking, and then a dark figure darted out.

"Lanxing is back!" When Yue Lanxing's mother saw Qingying run out excitedly without giving any orders, she knew that Yue Lanxing had returned.

Wang Qingqing came running out, "Mom, I'm back." Yue Lanxing patted Qingying's head, and Qingying obediently ran back.

"You've lost weight, you've lost a lot of weight." It seems that all parents who haven't seen their children for a long time will feel from the bottom of their hearts that their children have lost weight when they see them again.

"Mother, how thin could I possibly be? Please sit down." Yue Lanxing recounted everything she had been doing lately to Wang Qingqing. "Mother, why did you agree to let Xuanxuan go to the Xu family to work as a maid?"

“It was her own decision. She said she would only work there for a short time. Besides, it was the young master of the Xu family who introduced her to it. I was thinking that even if I didn’t get to see anything, I could at least build a good relationship with the young master of the Xu family.”

“I know you mean well, but how could she possibly get involved in the Xu family’s business while working as a maid? But there are only two more months left. Once she goes to university, she can quit this job,” Yue Lanxing said.

Wang Qingqing nodded. She already knew that Yue Xuanxuan had no future as a maid in the Xu family, so she naturally couldn't stay there any longer. "That's for sure. It's just that without realizing it, she's already in college, and you've grown up."

Wang Qingqing looked at Yue Lanxing, whose height was evident even while he was sitting. She had fed him medicine little by little when he was little, and it was truly remarkable that he had grown up to be this big. She just hoped that he could live a good life.

Yue Lanxing spent some time with his mother reminiscing before going to cook. After dinner, he brought Qingying back with him.

"Brother Yue, you're back! This is the wolfhound you mentioned!" Xue Huzi saw Yue Lanxing leading a wolfhound back and immediately ran over to take a look. "Can I pet it?"

Qingying is a fierce wolfhound that every man would want to own. When the gatekeeper was checking people at the entrance, he tried to pet it, but was scared away by Qingying's bared teeth. It was only after Yue Lanxing reassured him that he was able to pet it.

Yue Lanxing followed the same method as before. He squatted down and rubbed Qingying's head. "Why don't you try it? Its name is Qingying."

"Qingying? What a nice name." Xue Huzi finally got to touch Qingying. "But did you bring Qingying here to be Doubao's playmate, or to find her some snacks?"

This wasn't just Xue Huzi making things up; everyone thought that the wolf-like breed was inherently fierce, not to mention that Qingying's eyes gleamed with malice, making the docile little dog Doubao no match for it.

"I've already told Qingying to keep quiet. I just brought her over to take a look. If the two of them can't get along, I'll send Langqing away," Yue Lanxing thought.

"No, there's plenty of room in the back. If Doubao is afraid of Qingying, you can put Qingying in the back. Who wouldn't like such a good dog?" Xue Huzi wanted to continue petting her, but Yue Lanxing stopped him.

As soon as Yue Lanxing's hand left Qingying, it stood up. "I'll take it over first. Do you want to come and see?" Yue Lanxing originally thought Xue Huzi would come to watch the fun, but who knew he would shake his head. "I have to watch the front yard. I can't walk around freely. Uncle Sun just taught me that today."
