Xiao Nan brought it over to her again, "Here it is? Do you want me to feed you, Miss?" Xiao Nan scooped out a piece of cake and brought it to Miss's mouth. Xu Zhaoyue was still conscious, so she opened her mouth and ate the cake.
The cakes in this Western restaurant aren't very big. Xu Zhaoyue had already eaten half of it, and now Xiao Nan fed her a few more bites, and she finished it. "Miss, you've finished the cake. Let me take you back to your room to rest."
Xu Zhaoyue finished eating the cake she wanted and didn't make any other requests. She obediently nodded in agreement. However, Xiao Nan stood up and tried to pull the young lady away by herself.
"Miss, let me go find some other servants and ask them to come and help me up," Xiao Nan whispered to reassure Xu Zhaoyue. She didn't dare to lift her up alone.
"No! I'm not drunk. I want to go upstairs myself. I can walk." Xu Zhaoyue grabbed Xiao Nan's arm and stood up from the sofa. She was worried that if others saw her like this, they would know that she couldn't hold her liquor. She couldn't let others know this.
Xu Zhaoyue walked forward with firm steps, and Xiao Nan supported her from behind. "Are you sure you can do this, Miss?" Xiao Nan asked again. It was supposed to be a caring question, but in Xu Zhaoyue's mind, it meant that Xiao Nan was looking down on her.
Xu Zhaoyue decided to prove herself, so she shook off Xiao Nan's hand and strode confidently upstairs. Then, she twisted her ankle. It all happened so fast that Xiao Nan hadn't even had time to react after being shaken off.
"Miss!" Before Xiao Nan could finish speaking, Xu Zhaoyue was lifted up from mid-air by Yue Lanxing. Yue Lanxing's arm strength was amazing; he could not only catch her quickly but also carry her in a princess carry.
"Huh? Stop making noise." Xu Zhaoyue turned around and glanced at Xiaonan, not knowing what Xiaonan was so excited about. Then she turned around and saw Yue Lanxing in front of her, quite close.
Xu Zhaoyue covered her mouth with her hand and exclaimed, "Wow, have I grown taller?" She then gestured with her hand to show the distance between them.
"We're even closer now," Xu Zhaoyue remarked. She hadn't yet realized that she was being held in Yue Lanxing's arms. She didn't realize it, but Yue Lanxing noticed that Xiao Nan next to them kept trying to join their conversation.
Yue Lanxing glanced at Xu Zhaoyue, who was still enjoying herself, her face flushed and her eyes somewhat dazed. It was clear at a glance that her mind wasn't working.
"How about I carry Miss to the road now?" Yue Lanxing suggested, since Miss was behaving herself in his arms. She was already playing with his clothes.
Xiao Nan was initially at a loss, then looked helpless. "Okay, hurry up." Xiao Nan agreed and ran upstairs to open the door first.
Yue Lanxing carried Xu Zhaoyue and walked steadily upstairs. "Who are you? I've never seen you before. Can you stop swaying like that? You're making my eyes blurry." Xu Zhaoyue grabbed Yue Lanxing's collar with both hands.
“Young Miss, my name is Yue Lanxing, and I am your bodyguard,” Yue Lanxing replied.
When Xu Zhaoyue saw him speak, she blinked in confusion. "What are you saying? I can't hear you. Did you say anything?" Xu Zhaoyue wanted to hear what the person in front of her was saying, so she moved closer and closer.
Yue Lanxing noticed that she was leaning upwards, but her posture made it difficult for her to exert any force, so she could only pull Yue Lanxing down with her hands. Just as Yue Lanxing was wondering how to get away, Xiao Nan's voice interrupted him.
"Come in quickly, just put Miss on the bed." Xiao Nan led Yue Lanxing into the room. When Yue Lanxing let go of her, Xu Zhaoyue was very obedient and did not resist at all.
After Yue Lanxing put Xu Zhaoyue on the bed, she quickly left, and then Xiao Nan closed the door.
Yue Lanxing glanced at the closed door and loosened his tie. Just now, when Xu Zhaoyue pulled on his tie to get closer to him, his heart was beating very fast. He even had the illusion that the whole hall was echoing with his heartbeat.
He let out a long sigh and went downstairs, picked up the snacks and went back to his room. He had originally planned to go to the front yard to work in the afternoon, but now his plans needed to be changed.
After returning to his room, Yue Lanxing felt the vibration in his chest continue. He walked around twice but still couldn't calm it down. His mind was filled with the image of the young lady trying to get closer to him. He even wanted to get closer, which was really wrong and shouldn't have happened.
Finally, Yue Lanxing remembered that the young lady had asked him to investigate Zhang Pei's affairs. Having finally found something to do, Yue Lanxing quickly changed his clothes and went out immediately.
Xiao Nan was upstairs taking care of the young lady. After changing Xu Zhaoyue into her pajamas and applying face wash, Xu Zhaoyue was still in a daze. She looked around and realized that the person she had just seen was gone.
"Xiao Nan?" Xu Zhaoyue's face was a little blurry, but she could recognize Xiao Nan by her familiarity with her. "What's wrong, Miss?" Xiao Nan was still making her bed.
Xu Zhaoyue suddenly waved to her and said in a very soft voice, "Xiao Nan, come here quickly!"
Seeing her acting mysteriously, Xiao Nan had no choice but to put down what she was doing and come over. "What does Miss want me to do?" Xiao Nan was very curious about what she couldn't say loudly.
