Chapter 29 Mr. Huang

When Xiao Nan heard about this, she immediately brewed some calming tea and had someone bring up a massage tub to massage her feet.

"Xiao Nan, isn't this a bit too much? What if I sleep until noon tomorrow?" Xu Zhaoyue said with a smile. Xiao Nan's serious attitude was even a little scary to her.

"Miss, just sleep. I'll wake you up. Drink your calming tea and get a good night's sleep so you can visit the elders looking radiant tomorrow. That's how we show our attitude." Xiao Nan said, combing Xu Zhaoyue's hair while supervising her as she drank the tea.

Xu Zhaoyue looked at the tea in the cup and asked softly, "But Xiaonan, what did you put in this calming tea? Why do I smell roses?"

“I added rose petals, white chrysanthemums, and chamomile—all good for relieving fatigue,” Xiao Nan replied. “Oh, it really is calming. Okay, I’ve finished drinking.” Xu Zhaoyue tilted her head back and drank the water in a few gulps, then showed the empty glass to Xiao Nan.

Xiao Nan had already combed her hair. "Okay, then we'll go downstairs." After Xu Zhaoyue's feet were wiped, Xiao Nan led her people downstairs, where they ran into Yue Lanxing and the others on the first floor.

Yue Lanxing and the other two had just returned from the warehouse. This was a great opportunity to learn marksmanship. Even if they only taught Tian Dai, the others would be excited just watching.

"What's that smell on you guys?" Xiao Nan was choked by the smell of gunpowder as soon as she stepped downstairs.

"Huh? Is the smell that strong? I'm sorry, Sister Xiaonan, we'll be more careful next time." Xue Huzi immediately lowered his head to smell himself, but he couldn't smell anything.

Xiao Nan waved her hand to clear the smell from in front of her nose. "It's alright, it's alright. You guys hurry up and wash up. Just don't let the young lady down." After saying that, she left with her people.

Yue Lanxing watched as the person behind Xiao Nan carried a foot bath tub. This was the first time he had ever seen the young lady use such a thing. Was it for tomorrow's visit? It seemed to be something very important.

"Hey, stop looking, let's hurry up and take a shower." Xue Huzi called to the other two to go take a shower. "Oh, coming." Yue Lanxing came back to her senses.

"Oh, right, this is some wine I brought back before. Here are two bottles for you. Don't be shy. You covered a lot of my shifts before." Yue Lanxing handed the wine he got from Zhao Mutou to Xue Huzi and Tian Dai.

Xue Huzi glanced at Tian Dai, and seeing that he didn't refuse, he took the wine. "Alright, I'll accept it then."

The second day finally arrived, and both groups of people had their own things to do.

After Xu Zhaoyue and Manager Yuan met at the company, they immediately went to Old Master Huang's residence. Old Master Huang lived in a slightly remote place, and it took them quite a while to get there.

They arrived outside the house and were easily led inside by the servants. "Grandpa Huang, how are you feeling?" Manager Yuan saw Grandpa Huang drying medicinal herbs as soon as he entered.

"Oh, of course I'm fine, but you're not so good, buddy. When are you coming to my place to recuperate?" Old Master Huang didn't stand on ceremony. He looked Manager Yuan up and down and then said that he wasn't feeling well.

Manager Yuan hurriedly handed the gift he was holding to the servant, saying, "My health is like this, how could I have time to come? There's no need to trouble you, sir. This is some deer antler that I collected before. I wouldn't dare put it in front of you if it wasn't a top-quality item."

While Manager Yuan was exchanging pleasantries, Xu Zhaoyue found the place increasingly familiar, and she also recognized Old Master Huang. She couldn't quite place the connection, but her intuition told her that there must be one.

Sure enough, when Grandpa Huang saw that Xu Zhaoyue was not speaking in the back, he called out to her, "Yueyue, why are you not saying anything now that we're on Grandpa's turf? It's been so long since you've driven, have you forgotten about Grandpa?"

"Grandpa? Grandpa Huang?" Xu Zhaoyue finally recognized him. She used to just call him Grandpa, so she didn't know his surname. "No wonder this place looked so familiar!"

Xu Zhaoyue stepped forward and supported Grandpa Huang's arm. Looking at the old man in front of her, many memories from the past flooded her mind.

"Oh, Manager Xu knows Old Master Huang?" Manager Yuan was stunned. He really didn't expect that Manager Xu knew Old Master Huang. The way he was addressed sounded very familiar.

However, Grandpa Huang is a famous figure in traditional Chinese medicine. How come Manager Xu only recognized him now? How long has it been since they last contacted each other? How did Manager Xu get to know him? Why is he calling him "Grandpa"? Is he the chairman?

Manager Yuan made wild guesses, but Old Master Huang's words gave him the answer. He held Xu Zhaoyue's hand and looked her over from left to right. "Good, good! The child has grown up so much. If Xiao Jin could see you like this now, he would be so happy."

"Grandpa!" Xu Zhaoyue remembered her mother's appearance and her eyes welled up with tears. Old Master Huang pulled her to the hall, with Manager Yuan following behind. He finally remembered where the connection came from.

The chairman's first wife's surname was Jin, which is Manager Xu's biological mother. That makes sense. Manager Yuan followed behind without daring to say a word. It was clearly not his chance to make a name for himself.

Xu Zhaoyue talked to Grandpa Huang about many things, mainly how she had been doing over the years. Grandpa Huang also told her how many disciples he had taken on and how many good prescriptions he had written.

By the time Xu Zhaoyue started talking about the purpose of her visit, it was already past lunchtime. Old Master Huang listened attentively and occasionally offered his own suggestions. Old Master Huang's experience was far beyond what they could match, and Manager Yuan almost took notes of it.

"Alright, I see it's getting dark outside, so I won't keep you overnight. Go home early and be careful on the road. Tomorrow I'll have your senior brother come to the company to find you. He's inherited my true teachings, so feel free to ask him for anything."
