"Can I just call you Cui Bai?" Xu Zhaoyue turned to look at Cui Bai. They were about the same age, both in their early twenties, and Cui Bai still smelled of medicine.
Cui Bai nodded, "Sure, you can call me whatever you want, Martial Uncle." With an honest look on his face, Xu Zhaoyue led him back to the second floor, but this time they went directly to her own office.
"While you're here, you can work with me. I've already prepared a desk." Xu Zhaoyue had already arranged for a desk and some office supplies to be placed in the office.
Cui Bai sat down, touched the table with his hand, and said, "This table is made of camphor wood. Camphor wood can dispel wind and dampness, clear the meridians, relieve pain, and aid digestion. It can be used for rheumatic pain and cold pain in the heart and abdomen."
"It can also treat sprains and bruises caused by various reasons, effectively relieving pain, treating symptoms, and shortening recovery time. If boiled in water, it can..."
Cui Bai rambled on and on, then suddenly remembered that they weren't in the Hundred Materials Hall. "I'm sorry, Martial Aunt, I couldn't control myself." He then looked at Xu Zhaoyue with his big eyes, trying to gain his Martial Aunt's forgiveness.
Xu Zhaoyue only realized what Master Huang meant by "single-minded" when he looked at her like that. Just now in the conference room and the hall, he had clearly been doing nothing, but now his eyes lit up the moment he touched the medicinal herbs.
"It's alright, it's alright. Seeing how enthusiastic you are, why don't we start now? I've prepared a few plans, can you give me your advice?" After saying that, he took out a few sheets of paper from the drawer.
“Okay, Uncle-Master.” Cui Bai took the paper and was immediately drawn in. He sat down and began to study it carefully.
Yue Lanxing is standing guard outside the door. Although he stands there tall and straight, he is desperately trying to hear through the crack in the door, but the office is well soundproofed and he can't hear anything.
Finally, Yue Lanxing decided to brew a pot of tea and bring it over. When he returned to the duty room, Xue Huzi was puzzled as to why he had gone back. "Hey, why are you back? Are you changing shifts? I'll go now."
"No, I..." Yue Lanxing was about to explain when Tian Dai patted Xue Huzi on the shoulder. "Why are you standing up? He's already assigned the shifts, how could he let you go?" After Tian Dai finished speaking, he looked at Yue Lanxing, clearly knowing that he hadn't come back to relieve him of his shift.
Yue Lanxing walked to the cabinet and started making tea. "I saw that the young lady's nephew has started working. I'll take some tea to them."
"Oh, you're so thoughtful." Xue Huzi nodded, not forgetting to learn from Yue Lanxing's dedication to his job. Tian Dai, on the other hand, seemed to have thought of something and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
After brewing the tea, Yue Lanxing immediately went to the office and knocked on the door. "Come in!" Xu Zhaoyue's voice came faintly from inside. Yue Lanxing pushed open the door and went in.
As soon as he entered, he saw Xu Zhaoyue and Cui Bai sitting together discussing a piece of paper, their expressions quite lively.
"I've made tea for Miss and Doctor Cui. I figured you must be thirsty after chatting for so long." Yue Lanxing placed the plate on the table and served them teacups.
"Oh, now that you mention it, I am indeed a bit thirsty." Xu Zhaoyue picked up the cup and took a few sips. "Did you learn this from Xiaonan?" After drinking, Xu Zhaoyue tasted some of the flavor.
"Yes, these things always need to be done by someone, so I took some time to learn from Xiaonan." This was actually the result of Xiaonan practicing in front of him last night.
After finishing his tea, Cui Bai looked at the cup for a while and then said, "What if we changed the tea leaves? We could use something with the same effect but a cheaper price, wouldn't that work?"
“But what we need is its efficacy. Would it be useful to replace it with something else?” Xu Zhaoyue immediately chimed in. “We can try it, try it a few times and see the difference.” Cui Bai’s eyes started to light up.
Seeing how serious they were, Yue Lanxing quietly withdrew.
After lunch, Yue Lanxing told Xue Huzi and went to find Huang Lian. The process was the same as last time, and his arrival really surprised Huang Lian.
"Hey, it's only been half a month since we last met, how come you're here so soon?" Huang Lian joked as she went to find the blood-drawing equipment.
Yue Lanxing shook her head at him when she saw his actions, "I didn't come here because of my illness. I haven't even taken my medicine much in just half a month, it's not that serious."
Huang Lian looked at him carefully, and only stopped when she was sure he was alright. "Then what are you doing here? Are you bored?" Huang Lian took off her white coat and hung it on the hanger, stretching her muscles.
"Master Huang went to the company today, and he brought his apprentice with him." After Yue Lanxing finished speaking, he began to observe Huang Lian's expression. Sure enough, Huang Lian's expression immediately changed when he heard the name Master Huang.
"His apprentice is Cui Bai, his eldest apprentice. Master Huang is also Old Master Huang's eldest apprentice. You should know him, right?" Yue Lanxing knew he could definitely get some information from Huang Lian.
"Hey, stop talking now. If my dad hears this name, he'll definitely get angry again." Huang Lian said, glancing towards the door as if afraid his father would suddenly come in.
Seeing him staring nervously at the door, Yue Lanxing smiled and said, "Everyone has to knock before coming in. Uncle Huang will have to knock when he comes back later too. What are you so afraid of?"
"Tell me if you have any news. What if Miss brings Cui Bai to the hospital in a few days and happens to come to this lab? Tell me first, and if they really come, I'll see if I can stop them." Yue Lanxing herself was also curious about this matter.
Huang Lian glanced at him, then suddenly sighed, "Oh well, it's not a secret anyway, so I'll just tell you. I told you before that my father ran away from home because he disagreed with my grandfather."
