Chapter 31 The Eight Trigrams

Yue Lanxing had no idea. He coughed and said, "Cough, without any evidence, what am I supposed to guess? Do you think Uncle Huang knows about this? That the young lady is Old Master Huang's second disciple?"

His words prompted Huang Lian to think again. "That's right, my dad has lived for so many years, he must know, he..." Before he could finish speaking, they both heard the doorbell ring.

"Just say you're here for a medical checkup, don't let it slip." Huang Lian gestured for Yue Lanxing to shut up, then went to open the door. "Dad, you're back. How was dinner?"

"Hmph, what mischief have you gotten yourself into? Confess yourself, or I'll have to guess!" Uncle Huang saw Huang Lian welcoming him back with a smile and immediately began to check if anything in the lab was broken.

Huang Lian's expression immediately turned flustered, but he still tried to remain calm and said, "Nothing of the sort. What could I possibly be hiding from you? Isn't that right, Lan Xing!" Yue Lan Xing, watching from the side, thought Huang Lian's acting was terrible.

"Hmph, what do you think I don't know? Xiao Yue, you tell me, don't let this kid stammer and fail to get to the point." Uncle Huang knew his son very well.

Huang Lian was frantically trying to signal Yue Lanxing with his eyes, but unfortunately, because of his exaggerated facial movements, Uncle Huang turned around and saw it. Now, things couldn't be said to be peaceful.

Yue Lanxing carefully considered her words, "Uncle Huang, I went to Old Master Huang's house with Miss yesterday. I didn't expect that Miss is actually Old Master Huang's second apprentice. So Old Master Huang asked Master Huang to come to Xu's to help."

"Master Huang has left his apprentice at the company again, so I thought I'd come and ask Huang Lian if he knows anything about this," Yue Lanxing explained the situation again.

Uncle Huang listened to what he said, but didn't react much, just nodded in response, "Oh, is that so? Hey, when did Xiaoyueyue come back?"

"Dad! You know Manager Xu?" Huang Lian was shocked. He had just been wondering if his father knew about Manager Xu, but now he was certain.

Uncle Huang was puzzled as to why his son was so agitated. "I watched her grow up. How could I not know her? I even know her mother. Besides, without this connection, our lab would have been shut down long ago."

"Hey, wait a minute, so the reason our lab wasn't shut down is because you have connections, Dad?" Huang Lian was genuinely surprised today. "Then... then why do we have so few experimental materials? Could you use your connections to get us more?"

"You're lucky she stayed in the lab, what more could you want? Besides, we haven't been in touch for years, I didn't even know she was back, so don't even think about anything else."

"Xiao Yue, go back and tell Xiao Yueyue that if there's any need, have Huang Lian come over to help. My son and I have done some research on traditional Chinese medicine before, so if you want it, you can come and get it," Uncle Huang instructed Yue Lanxing.

Yue Lanxing naturally agreed, "Okay, I'll tell Miss about it when I get back. Uncle Huang, I have something to take care of, so I'll be leaving now. If I have the chance, I'd like to come and have a meal cooked by Aunt Huang."

"My mom's cooking is delicious, isn't it!" Huang Lian said with a proud smile. His mother's cooking was the motivation for him and his father to leave work on time every day.

"It's nothing. If you want to eat, just come here and pick up my son and me after get off work. We'll go home together for dinner and cook a couple more dishes." Uncle Huang was about to tell Yue Lanxing to go back, but then he remembered Yue Lanxing's work and added, "We can have Xiaoyueyue come over for an inspection. You can come along too."

After finishing speaking, Uncle Huang nodded to Yue Lanxing, as if afraid that Yue Lanxing wouldn't understand what he meant. "Okay, okay, I'll definitely pass on the message and mention this matter to Miss again," Yue Lanxing assured him.

"That's good. You should go and take care of your business now, don't delay anything." After saying what he wanted to say, Uncle Huang didn't keep Yue Lanxing any longer.

After saying goodbye to them, Yue Lanxing left the hospital and went to Zhao Mutou's shop, but Zhao Mutou was not there. The shop assistant said that he had gone out on business. Yue Lanxing asked the shop assistant to tell Mutou that he would come back the day after tomorrow afternoon.

When Yue Lanxing returned to the company, Xu Zhaoyue and Cui Bai had already entered the laboratory, so he had to wait in the duty room. However, with Xue Huzi gossiping, it wasn't too boring.

I don't know if it's because of Xue Huzi's appearance, but he can gain trust anywhere with his silly and cheerful demeanor. He has only been here for a few days, but he has already learned a lot of things through casual conversation.

"The young lady's sister used to be called Manager Xu, but she lost her temper at the Western Medicine Department, so everyone there calls her Manager Xu, but secretly calls her Little Xu behind her back." Xue Huzi listened intently to the news about the enemy.

Yue Lanxing pondered for a moment and then asked, "What do they call the young lady? Do you know?"

"Oh, the person we call her most is 'Miss.' Even Manager Xu doesn't call her that much. It seems that it's because the equipment Miss gave to Department Two is particularly expensive, which made Department One extremely envious. That Researcher Wang is also a top student. Miss gave them both equipment and talent. Everyone says she's rich and powerful."

"So everyone calls her Miss, but in person she's still called Manager Xu. The department doesn't seem to have any objections, but she doesn't usually chat with the people on the lower floors, so there's not much information about her."

After Xue Huzi finished speaking, he remembered something else, which was about the second young lady. "By the way, the second young lady hasn't come to the company for two days. I've always heard that she's a workaholic, making the entire department work overtime every day and holding meetings every day."

"But when I went downstairs today, I heard them say that the second young lady has to go back to class for a few days every one or two months. But she won't be able to attend many classes this semester. I don't know if she will be able to graduate." Xue Huzi pondered to himself after he finished speaking.
