Chapter 33 The Deputy Editor's Daughter

"Young Miss, what are you laughing at? Am I wrong?" Yue Lanxing noticed that the young lady was laughing, a smile of being immersed in her own world, looking very gentle and quiet.

"Huh? Oh, I was thinking that if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known so quickly. What kind of reward do you want?" Xu Zhaoyue came back to her senses, but her tone became more relaxed.

Yue Lanxing was stunned for a moment, not knowing what to say. She could only stammer, "This is, this is what I should do. What Miss wants to do is what I should do. There is no need for a reward."

"Ha, since you don't want anything, I'll just do what I want. Let's go down for dinner." Xu Zhaoyue didn't ask any further questions, but she did express her intention to give a gift.

Yue Lanxing saw that the young lady had already stood up. He opened his mouth but didn't say anything, hiding his expectations. Then he went downstairs with the young lady.

Just as Xu Zhaoyue was about to finish washing up, Li Qi called. The maid answered and immediately came up to tell the young lady, "Young lady, Li Qi, the young master's bodyguard, is calling. Would you like to go down and answer it?"

"Okay, I'll go down and answer it." Xu Zhaoyue had just taken off her jewelry when she realized that Li Qi must have news about Xiao Hao, so she decided to go down and answer the phone.

"Hello?" Xu Zhaoyue picked up the phone and greeted him. Li Qi on the other end then told Xu Zhaoyue about the young master's recent activities. Half an hour passed just like that.

"Okay, tell Xiao Hao that I asked him to come back on Saturday. If he doesn't come back, I'll go find him myself. That's all." Xu Zhaoyue hung up the phone.

Xu Zhaoyue sighed. She didn't have any connections in screenwriting. Xiao Hao was actually interested in writing. Just as she was thinking, the noise from the back door was particularly noticeable in the empty villa.

As soon as Yue Lanxing entered, she instinctively looked around and saw the young lady standing under the light. The light shone softly on the young lady, as if embracing her, but the young lady seemed to be troubled by something, and her expression was not clear.

"Young Miss, you're still awake?" Yue Lanxing had just finished asking when Tian Dai came in. He smelled strongly of gunpowder, and Yue Lanxing hoped he would go back to his room quickly, afraid that the young lady would be choked by the smell.

Fortunately, they were quite far away, so Xu Zhaoyue didn't smell anything. Tian Dai was initially startled to see Yue Lanxing standing there, but quickly noticed the young lady's presence, "Young lady!"

"Hmm, you train until this late every day? Go back now." Xu Zhaoyue simply greeted them and had no interest in continuing the conversation. Yue Lanxing and Tian Dai knew this, so they quickly walked back to their rooms.

After returning to her room, Xu Zhaoyue thought for a while, but Xiao Nan reminded her that it was time to sleep, so she washed up and went to bed.

Compared to the issues Xu Zhaoyue had to deal with, Xu Zhaoming's situation was much simpler. She had been dealing with her relationships with teachers and classmates for the past few days, barely even opening her textbooks and instead looking at the materials provided by the class representative.

"Hey class monitor, the key points you gave us are only a few sheets of paper, isn't that too few?" Xu Zhaoming found the class monitor during a break between classes.

The class representative looked very upset when he saw that the materials he had painstakingly compiled were being questioned, but he still patiently explained, "Once you understand these, you won't have any major problems with the exam. You'll understand if you combine these materials with your textbook."

“Okay.” Xu Zhaoyue returned to her seat. When her classmate next to her saw her return, she immediately turned around and started talking to her. “If you don’t understand anything, you can ask me. There are many parts in the textbook that require the teacher’s explanation to understand. It’s normal that you don’t understand if you didn’t listen in class.”

With just that one sentence, Xu Zhaoming sensed something else: "I didn't come to class, but I can study by myself." Her sarcastic tone startled her classmates, until someone pulled her over.

The atmosphere on their side suddenly became awkward, but because the whole class was talking, it didn't stand out; only a few students nearby were exchanging glances.

Xu Zhaoming was neither interested in nor concerned about the changes around her. She opened her textbook and started reading, but then felt that it was too noisy and there was no atmosphere for studying. The sound of turning the pages was particularly loud.

Even so, Xu Zhaoming was still angry when she returned to the villa. The maid who came to greet her could tell that she was in a bad mood, but she was afraid that if she asked her any questions, it would make her mistress lose her temper, so she did what she was supposed to do and then left.

Saturday arrived quickly. Xu Zhaoyue declined Cui Bai's invitation to work overtime over the weekend, but Cui Bai insisted on going to the lab. He was very eager to know what the finished product was and was extremely enthusiastic.

Xu Zhaoyue was waiting for Xu Zhaohao to come home. She was sitting on the swing wearing a casual long dress. Doubao and Qingying were circling around her legs. "Doubao, have you gained weight?"

Xu Zhaoyue put Doubao on her lap. Seeing that her little friend had been caught, Qingying sat down and rubbed her head against Xu Zhaoyue's leg. "Hmm, Doubao, look into my eyes."

Doubao seemed guilty, shaking its head from side to side without raising its head. Xu Zhaoyue stroked its fur, thinking it was because it had too much fur, but looking at Doubao's face, she knew it must have gotten fat.

"Doubao, you can't stop exercising. Puppies your age are all running around everywhere. Look at Qingying, she hasn't gotten fat." Xu Zhaoyue coaxed Doubao while looking at Qingying and noticed that Qingying's fur was shiny and healthy.

"Qingying, shake hands." Xu Zhaoyue freed one hand and reached out to Qingying. She just wanted to try it out. Unexpectedly, the next second Qingying actually put her hand on hers, which made her extremely happy.
