"Oh, there's a flattened arena inside, but it's closer from the warehouse. It would take at least forty minutes to get there from here. The path we're on now has a pavilion ahead, and it'll be there in twenty minutes." That's all Yue Lanxing knew about this forest.
They walked for about ten minutes and then saw a pavilion with a stream flowing under it. Xu Zhaoyue went inside the pavilion, walked around for a while, and then came out again.
There's an empty space on top of the pavilion, so you can see the sun and the moon at night. "I remember this was built when my mother was alive. I used to play here when I was little, but I got scared coming here alone later, so I stopped coming."
Xu Zhaoyue didn't feel sad when she talked about these things. She just felt that time had passed and that she must have been very familiar with this place when she was a child. She must have liked to hide from the sun here and play with her mother with her dolls.
Xu Zhaoyue tilted her head back, closed her eyes, and recalled her childhood. Yue Lanxing watched as the sunlight shone through the tree canopy onto the young lady, like a mountain spirit absorbing the essence of heaven and earth. However, her expression was sorrowful, as she was recalling a sad past.
Yue Lanxing didn't dare disturb the young lady, nor did he want to see her immersed in sadness. He looked left and right and then turned his gaze to Qingying. He gently tugged the rope, and Qingying barked happily a few times, "Woof woof woof!"
Qingying's shout successfully made Xu Zhaoyue open her eyes. "Qingying, be quiet!" Yue Lanxing saw that the young lady was looking in his direction, so he immediately pretended to be angry and scolded Qingying.
"Woof...woof..." Qingying barked somewhat aggrievedly, and even rubbed its head against Yue Lanxing's leg, which made Xu Zhaoyue laugh involuntarily. "Alright, look at its expression, it's so funny."
"Really?" Yue Lanxing's mood improved when he saw that the young lady had finally smiled.
Xu Zhaoyue had lost interest in exploring the woods. "Hmm, let's go back. It's almost lunchtime. Doubao, shall we go back for lunch?" Doubao had been lying quietly on the ground just now, but now he was rushing forward impatiently.
Xu Zhaoyue pulled on the rope, letting Doubao walk ahead, while Yue Lanxing, holding Qingying's hand, quickly followed. What Xu Zhaohao saw was the two people, looking like a couple, emerging from the woods.
Their little dog was bumping into each other in front of them, while the two of them were being all lovey-dovey behind them. Xu Zhaohao felt shocked, but also felt that it was unlikely and that he must have been mistaken.
"Sister! Sister!" Xu Zhaohao ran over immediately. "Why are you with him? I was looking for you!" Xu Zhaohao wanted to ask his sister what her relationship with Yue Lanxing was, but then thought it wouldn't be appropriate to ask in front of her, so he kept quiet.
Yue Lanxing immediately sensed the young master's hostility and wisely took a step back.
"I just took Doubao for a walk, and it's gotten so fat." Xu Zhaoyue only mentioned Doubao's condition. "You were worried when you couldn't find it, but after so many days away from home, weren't you worried about whether I was worried or not?"
"Uh, I'm just... I..." Xu Zhaohao's arrogance vanished instantly, and he even felt a little guilty. He scratched his head, unsure of what to say, and finally managed to stammer, "I'm back now, okay, let's go inside, I have something to discuss with you."
"Okay, Lanxing, take them to their kennels." Xu Zhaoyue handed the rope to Yue Lanxing, who, under Xu Zhaohao's gaze, took the lower end of the rope but didn't touch it at all.
Xu Zhaohao now felt that he had misread the situation and happily followed his sister back to the study in the villa.
"Sister, I went out these past few days to take care of something important." Xu Zhaohao was very excited, and then he excitedly told Xu Zhaoyue about what he had been doing these past few days.
After listening, Xu Zhaoyue sighed inwardly, unsure whether to call her younger brother a wise fool or a lucky simpleton. "So, Wang Dongnan wants you to invest in the movie he's investing in, but you don't want to use the script he provided, so you've decided to write your own?"
"Yes, I've already come up with a story, and I've been discussing it with them for two days. Sis, as long as you support me, I'm sure I can make it happen." Xu Zhaohao said confidently.
Xu Zhaoyue nodded, and just when Xu Zhaohao thought she had agreed, she chuckled and asked him a few questions, "The story? Is it just in the conceptual stage now? Will you write it yourself or find someone to ghostwrite it?"
"Do you know what qualifications are needed to make a movie? Do you know what a movie script is like? Do you have casting rights after you provide the script? What is the return on investment?"
"Huh?" Xu Zhaohao was surprised.
Xu Zhaoyue learned from Li Qi that after deciding to write the script himself, he focused solely on discussing the story with those people and knew nothing about the other parts of the filming. Naturally, those people were happy that he didn't ask any questions.
Xu Zhaohao looked puzzled. "Why would I need to know all this? I don't know how to make movies. Professional things should be left to professionals."
"If you only want to manage the script, then why do you need to invest? As long as the script is good, why do you need money? Do you think they need your investment before they'll use your script? Are they interested in your script or your money?" Xu Zhaoyue continued to ask.
This left Xu Zhaohao stumped. "Well... I'm quite talented in this area. Everyone says I have good stories."
“Then let’s write it down first,” Xu Zhaoyue said decisively. “Write down the story first. You know, if you really want to invest, I can get you a movie crew, and it’s the best team in Shanghai.”
“I can find the best screenwriter to help you, but judging from your enthusiasm, you don’t want anyone else to interfere. It’s only meaningful to complete it independently. As long as you write the script and get the screenwriter’s approval, then not only me, but Dad will support you.”
