Yue Lanxing stood up and picked up both plates. "Miss, you can wait for me outside." Then she went to put the plates on the other side.
Xu Zhaoyue followed the crowd to the corner of the stairs and stood there with her back to the door. In fact, most people in the company only knew that the young lady had joined the company, but they had never seen her in person.
However, given Xu Zhaoyue's appearance, even if one didn't know she was a young lady, one would still want to take a second look at her, and even her back view facing away from the doorway was eye-catching.
Fortunately, just as someone was about to approach her, Yue Lanxing appeared. "Miss, I'm here." As soon as Yue Lanxing appeared, she immediately cleared a space around her. The people walking around nearby also realized Xu Zhaoyue's identity and quickened their pace as they went downstairs.
“Oh, let’s go.” Xu Zhaoyue turned around and went downstairs with Yue Lanxing. They had a lunch break of one hour. “Let’s go for a walk in the garden. I’ve been in the house all morning and my eyes are tired.”
Yue Lanxing nodded and walked over there with the young lady. "With Cui Bai and so many researchers there, there's no need for the young lady to go to the lab every day. It's not good for her health to overwork herself."
"I spearheaded this experiment myself, and the main ideas were also mine. If I hadn't relied solely on Cui Bai, the progress would have been much slower. However, I did get a weekend off, while Cui Bai was working overtime for the past two days."
When Xu Zhaoyue talked about the experiment, she inevitably mentioned Cui Bai, and she mentioned him many times. Yue Lanxing wanted to hear what the young lady had to say, but she didn't really want to know what Cui Bai had done.
Yue Lanxing walked silently beside the young lady, listening to her talk about all sorts of interesting things that happened in the laboratory, as well as many stories from her time studying abroad. He was a very good listener, occasionally chiming in with a word of agreement.
Xu Zhaoyue felt she had talked a lot, but Yue Lanxing listened without any impatience, and seemed to be enjoying it. "Look, I've been talking too much. It's almost time to go back."
"Well, Miss, you should go back and have some water first. Your throat will be sore from not drinking water for so long," Yue Lanxing reminded her.
"Oh, I feel like you're just like Xiaonan. What? She's the one who bosses me around at home, but you're the one who bosses me around outside?" Xu Zhaoyue felt that he was just like Xiaonan every time she urged her to drink water.
Yue Lanxing shook her head. "No, I can't compare to Xiao Nan, and I wouldn't dare to interfere with Miss, but I still need to drink water."
Hearing his words, Xu Zhaoyue thought to herself, "He said he wouldn't dare to interfere, and his tone was gentle, but his attitude is so forceful. Oh well, it's for my own good anyway, so I won't argue with him."
After they returned to the office, Yue Lanxing went to make tea. Xu Zhaoyue, who had nothing to do while sitting there, got up and opened the door to the lounge. She found that the blankets on the bed were not moved, and knew that Yue Lanxing had not rested in the morning.
"Young Miss, the tea is here, be careful it's hot." Yue Lanxing placed the teacup in front of the young lady.
As Xu Zhaoyue sipped her tea, she sized him up. The more she looked, the more she felt that Yue Lanxing had an excellent body proportion, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. He was perfect for wearing a suit, and the suit he was wearing now couldn't bring out his handsomeness.
Xu Zhaoyue's gaze swept over Yue Lanxing, as if she could change his clothes with her eyes. Yue Lanxing's body tensed up for no reason, and he quickly made an excuse to leave, "When I came over just now, I saw the Second Department moving things, so I went over to help."
Yue Lanxing left without waiting for a reply, which startled Xu Zhaoyue. It took her a while to realize that she had been too blatant and made him feel embarrassed.
Xu Zhaoyue felt she needed to reflect on herself, lest she scare him again. So, after finishing two cups of tea, she tidied up and went to the lab, making sure to check if Yue Lanxing was outside, afraid of embarrassing him if they ran into each other.
Fortunately, Yue Lanxing really went to help. Yue Lanxing didn't know that the young lady had already gone to the laboratory. He was listening to gossip, which was about the young lady and a tall, imposing man. But the more he listened, the more it sounded like himself.
"When I was eating in the cafeteria just now, I saw a figure that looked a lot like the young lady. She was accompanied by a tall, burly man. Was she an employee of their department?"
"Hey, you saw it too. I didn't know them at first. When I came down the stairs, I heard someone behind me mutter, 'Miss, hurry up and go,' so I left quickly."
"I was walking behind them, too scared to go over, so I just followed. But I saw them go to the garden. They looked so sweet and affectionate. I didn't see the man's face, but I could tell he was tall."
Yue Lanxing, carrying a bunch of things, listened silently behind them. So many people had seen him with the young lady earlier, and they certainly hadn't seen her face clearly. No wonder he hadn't been discovered while he was behind them for so long.
Yue Lanxing silently helped them carry their things upstairs. Many people came to help, and he kept his head down, trying not to stand out among the group of people in suits.
When Yue Lanxing returned, he knew that the young lady had already gone to work. He tidied up the tea and went to Tiandai to relieve her.
Xue Huzi was there when we were moving things, but he was so engrossed in the activity that he didn't notice what the people around him were saying. Right now, he's sitting there drinking water in big gulps.
"You two always have work to do. Now that I've mastered driving, shouldn't I ask Miss to arrange some other work for me?" Xue Huzi asked, seemingly after finishing his water.
“You can ask Miss when she has some free time. What? You don’t think you’re too bored, do you?” Yue Lanxing naturally agreed with his ambition.
Xue Huzi shook his head, "Hey, I just see you two busy with work every day, while I either stay in the duty room or stand guard. I have no use for all my strength."
