After speaking, he deliberately raised his arm, the muscles on his arm pushing up his suit jacket, making his muscles bulge out.
"Alright, alright, stop showing it off, or you'll ruin the clothes! Fine, but the young lady definitely has plans for you; it's just a matter of time," Yue Lanxing comforted him.
Just as they were talking, Tashiro returned from outside, reeking of medicinal herbs. "You two are here."
"Where have you been? Why do you smell like medicine all over you? Go outside for a walk. If you stay in this room, all three of us will smell like medicine." Xue Huzi quickly put the lid on the cup, afraid that the water would have a taste later.
Tashiro casually patted his clothes, but didn't go out. "What are you being so dramatic about? I'm going to Hyakutsai-do to get some medicinal herbs. Hyakutsai-do is full of pots for brewing medicine, nearly 100 pots are brewing there, how could it not smell?"
“When I used to drop Dr. Cui off at the door, I didn’t feel anything through the car window, but once I went inside, it was really something. The whole place was filled with the steam from the burning medicine pots.”
"Alright, sit down. I just passed by the lab, and the smell inside was similar to this. Don't worry about bothering others later; everyone probably smells about the same." Yue Lanxing gestured for Tian Dai to sit down.
Yue Lanxing was right. The lab made some progress today, and the researchers smelled of medicine when they came out, but their dosage was small and the smell was faint.
As Xu Zhaoyue rode home, she was still wondering why the smell of medicine seemed to grow stronger over time, when she didn't smell much medicine when she came out. Yue Lanxing saw her smelling the back of her hand and explained it to her.
"Young Miss, Tashiro went to Hyakutsai-do today. When he came back, he was covered in the smell of medicine. Tiger and I spent the afternoon with him, and we got the smell on us too. I'm glad you didn't get choked by it."
Xu Zhaoyue lowered her hand, thinking to herself, "No wonder. I see. I've never seen what the Hundred Materials Hall looks like. I can visit it after the experiment is over."
"Does Miss want to visit Master Huang? Is it necessary to bring the results with you to show sincerity? Master Huang probably won't care about these things." Yue Lanxing thought that if Miss wanted to go, she wouldn't have to wait until the experiment was over.
Xu Zhaoyue shook her head and smiled gently, "I'm going to visit Uncle Huang. I should have Cui Bai show me the way. He's more interested in the experiments than anything else right now. I doubt I can persuade him to take a day off to go back."
"Young Miss, you're so thoughtful." Yue Lanxing paused for a moment. He hadn't expected that the young lady would also consider Cui Bai's thoughts.
They quickly returned to the mansion while chatting. Xiao Nan was waiting outside again. As soon as Yue Lanxing saw Xiao Nan, she knew something was wrong, otherwise she wouldn't have come out to greet her.
Sure enough, as soon as the car stopped, Xiao Nan came over and opened the car door. "Miss, Miss Chen is here." Xu Zhaoyue was about to say that it was fine for her to come, and that she should serve tea and snacks first, but judging from Xiao Nan's expression, that was clearly not the case.
Xu Zhaoyue helped Xiao Nan out of the car and approached her to ask, "What brought her here?"

Xiao Nan told Xu Zhaoyue everything she had observed. Xu Zhaoyue didn't know why, but her intuition told her that the photos were useful, so she quickly went into the villa.
"Xiaoyun, have you been waiting long?" Xu Zhaoyue called out as soon as she entered. Chen Yun heard her voice and immediately ran over to hug her. "Yueyue! Why did you take so long to come back?"
Xu Zhaoyue hugged her back, "Oh, why are you complaining? Do I smell bad?" Chen Yun's attention was drawn to her words. She leaned over and took a deep breath, then shook her head and said, "No, you smell nice."
Yue Lanxing and Xue Huzi wisely stood at the door and did not enter the hall.
"You speak so sweetly. Come on, let's go back to our room and talk slowly." Xu Zhaoyue pulled Chen Yun's hand and headed straight for her room. They would probably be sleeping together tonight.
Xiao Nan followed along. She needed to ask where they would eat and how much food they would prepare.
Xu Zhaoyue and Chen Yun arrived at the room. "Miss, is it alright if we have dinner in the room?" Xiao Nan asked from the doorway. "Yes, just bring it into the small dining room. Get your clothes ready. Xiao Yun, you don't need to go back tonight."
“I originally came from school, without even telling my family, so it’s great to stay with you,” Chen Yun said.
Xu Zhaoyue waved to Xiao Nan, "Go and prepare." Soon, Xiao Nan came up with her maids, bringing six dishes and two bowls of rice to the small dining room.
The entrance to the small dining room is to the left of the dressing table. People usually don't notice it when they first come in, as the dressing table blocks most of their view. Inside is what the small dining room looks like. The maids set out the tea, food, and tableware and then left.
After Xu Zhaoyue and Chen Yun sat down, they began to eat. "This dish looks like it was made by Aunt Wu. When she makes chicken, she always cuts the ginger into diamond shapes. I remember you also like Aunt Wu's cooking. Try it."
Chen Yun picked up a piece of chicken and put it in her bowl. After eating it with her head down, she immediately choked up a little, "Mmm, it's still as delicious as before."
Xu Zhaoyue had been observing her, and even her voice had changed, indicating that this was no small matter. "I know you're feeling upset and want to cry right now, but don't cry yet. Finish your meal, and you'll have more energy to eat later."
