"Hey, he went back and got married last year. My sister-in-law got pregnant recently, so I'll be running off with my father-in-law from now on," the other person chuckled. Xu Shun chatted with him for a couple more minutes before parting ways.
“We servants know a few of us. The one just now, he and his brother are both servants of the He family. I’ve met them a few times when I came here to deliver things.”
"Later I'll introduce you to the young masters and ladies of various families. Let's not go any further, just watch from a distance. That one over there is..." Xu Shun led Li Qi around in circles.
Inside the villa, Yue Lanxing was also learning from Xiao Nan. "I've told you so much, can you remember it all?" Xiao Nan saw him nodding, but couldn't tell if he was actually taking notes.
Then Yue Lanxing began to repeat what Xiao Nan had just said, a move that made Xiao Nan admire him. "You're really good at this. Okay, I'll continue for you... Hey, look at that girl in the yellow dress." Xiao Nan's tone became excited.
"Her name is Han Zhuzhu..." Xiao Nan began to explain what Han Zhuzhu had done in the past, which could be described as brave and valiant.
Xu Zhaoyue and He Lianhua also saw her. "What has she been doing all this time? I just opened the store and haven't even gone to gossip about it yet," He Lianhua said, looking at Han Zhuzhu's back.
“I didn’t either. Her brother is over there. He won’t cause trouble here.” Xu Zhaoyue shook her head. “I remember attending her family’s party before I left last year. She tied up a man.”
"It caused quite a stir back then. She overheard that guy saying bad things about her, and then she tied him up." He Lianhua had heard about this incident. "It's a pity I wasn't there. Oh, you were there!"
Xu Zhaoyue nodded, "Yes, that man deserved it. He said she couldn't get married on her own turf. Luckily, the servant handed her a rope. If he had given her a knife, she would have stabbed him too."
"That's what she deserves. Everyone has to avoid her." After hearing the whole story, He Lianhua realized that the matter couldn't be blamed on Han Zhuzhu. Xu Zhaoyue stopped paying attention to where Han Zhuzhu was and instead looked towards Yue Lanxing. "I'll go check over there. You should go and attend to your social engagements."
“Oh, there’s one over there…that’s the butler!” He Lianhua was about to point out a big lantern outside when she saw Butler Yue, whom she had met before.
He Lianhua was able to recognize Yue Lanxing at a glance thanks to Yue Lanxing's tall and upright figure and extraordinary temperament. Of course, if she could see it, others could too.
"They're looking at you, aren't they? What if they come over and try to chat you up? Should I go over there and hide for a bit?" Xiao Nan wanted to sneak a few bites of snacks, but now that Yue Lanxing was standing next to her and attracting attention, it seemed like that was no longer possible.
Yue Lanxing lowered her head and rolled up her sleeves to reveal the yellow silk on her wrist, hoping to avoid attracting too much attention.
"Oh, Miss is here, she looks so beautiful." Xiao Nan looked at Xu Zhaoyue walking towards them with starry eyes. Her figure and demeanor were simply perfect.
Upon hearing Xiao Nan speak, Yue Lanxing immediately looked up at the young lady. The moment he saw her, he thought to himself, "There's no need to say anything more about this outside."
"You two are just standing there like that? How silly." Xu Zhaoyue's smile was even gentler under the light. She walked up to them and reached out to pat Xiaonan's head.
Yue Lanxing instinctively wanted to look down as well, but then suddenly realized something and pretended to look at the shoes before raising her head.
Actually, Xu Zhaoyue had just realized what he meant, but she felt that Yue Lanxing wouldn't do such a thing because of his personality. Yue Lanxing's subsequent actions were all observed by her.
"Alright, let's go out for a stroll. This is just the beginning." Xu Zhaoyue led the two of them outside, and as soon as they stepped outside, they saw a large lantern, as well as many other beautiful lanterns on display nearby.
The large lantern depicts a jade rabbit pounding medicine. Passing by it, you can see a lantern alley that stretches for half a street. Xu Zhaoyue looked at the lanterns with great interest, while Xiao Nan looked left and right beside her. Apart from festivals like the Lantern Festival, where you can see all kinds of lanterns outside, the rest are only specially made for events.
Xu Zhaoyue held a lantern and spun it around, trying to see if it was perfectly symmetrical. In the gap, she saw Yue Lanxing looking at her with the same gaze she would give a gemstone. She only ever looked at gemstones with that kind of look.
I remember when she was little, she bought a piece of jade the size of her palm and slept with it for five or six days. Later, she was afraid of breaking it, so she put it away.
Xu Zhaoyue steadied herself, her mind uncontrollably recalling Yue Lanxing's information, which she then continuously filled in to make it more complete, but one crucial point was missing.
Why would a family whose father died young and whose mother is in poor health adopt a little girl? He's based in Beijing and isn't short of money, yet he's become a bodyguard—what's his purpose?
Xu Zhaoyue couldn't help but think about these things, and the more she thought about them, the more confused she became. "Young Miss!" Yue Lanxing's voice pulled her back to reality. "Huh?" Xu Zhaoyue responded unconsciously before she came back to her senses.
"Young Miss, were you just spacing out?" Yue Lanxing had just been watching the young lady turn the lantern, the candlelight shining through the red paper, making the young lady's face look rosy.
As Yue Lanxing was pondering this, he noticed that the young lady had suddenly stopped moving. He then spoke up to remind her, only to see that the young lady, who had come back to her senses, was looking at him with a strange expression. Her eyes, which seemed to be smiling but were not, held a lot of emotions. Perhaps she was troubled by something, which was why she had such an expression.
"I was just thinking, could I carve a blue rabbit? The jeweler suggested that I use that sapphire to carve an animal. A beautiful piece of furniture can make a good mood just by looking at it."
