Xu Zhaoyue quickly tasted all the pastries in the box, but she didn't eat them all. She didn't eat the ones that didn't look good, or the ones that didn't taste good after just one bite. There weren't many that she could eat whole.
Although Yue Lanxing was giving a report, her eyes were always focused on the young lady's preferences. There were a total of 20 pastries, and the young lady ate 8 of them, mostly delicate small snacks.
She didn't like food that crumbled easily, food that was too oily, or food with unusual colors. Yue Lanxing secretly kept these observations in mind. The food prepared in the villa was carefully selected. Yue Lanxing only knew what the young lady liked to eat, but she didn't know what she disliked.
If she only learns to cook the dishes in the villa from Aunt Wu, she'll probably never catch up to her. It would be better to use some new styles to give the young lady a fresh experience, Yue Lanxing thought.
Xu Zhaoyue didn't know what Yue Lanxing was thinking. She only knew that she probably wouldn't be able to eat much for dinner tonight. Even after getting into the car to go back to the villa, she didn't feel hungry.
"Sister! You're back! Look at the stones we found!" Xu Zhaoyue heard Xu Zhaohao's voice as soon as she entered the door. "Sister Zhaoyue." He Kaiyuan followed behind Xu Zhaohao slowly.
"He's here! Aren't you two tired of playing outside all the time?" Xu Zhaoyue looked at the two of them, so full of energy. They really were like children. But He Kaiyuan usually had to manage things, so it was really thoughtful of him to have time to accompany Xu Zhaohao like this.
Xu Zhaohao ran over and pulled his sister to look at the stones they had brought back. "How can we get tired of playing? These stones are so round. I've been looking for them in the river for ages."
“Xiao Hao said he’s going to do some field research. If he writes it down, I’ll be the biggest contributor to the work. Sister Zhaoyue, you have to be my witness then.” He Kaiyuan’s cheerful demeanor was completely different from his public persona.
Xu Zhaoyue looked at the several round stones that Xiao Hao had taken out, which showed that they had been well polished by the river. "Hmm, I'll remember this. What did you need to write that made you look for these stones?"
He Kaiyuan, who was standing nearby, was also very curious and came over to say, "Yeah, they didn't even tell me."
"Um, I'm just doing some field research, getting in touch with nature to inspire myself. I already have a little idea, I'll show it to you after I write it down, but I can't tell you now." Xu Zhaohao seemed reluctant to say more, but his expression was very excited, making him seem mysterious.
"The food is ready, Miss and Young Master, please eat and chat." Xiao Nan came over to invite them to dinner.
Xu Zhaohao immediately agreed, "Okay, sis, let's go eat. Don't stand here." Xu Zhaohao ran behind Xu Zhaoyue and He Kaiyuan, pushing them one in each hand, and led them to the restaurant.
After they sat down to eat, Xu Zhaohao remembered that Xu Zhaoyue had invited him over today. "By the way, sis, didn't you say you wanted to talk to me about something? Couldn't you have said it over the phone?"
“Dad asked me to talk to you.” Xu Zhaoyue stated the facts first, and sure enough, she saw Xu Zhaohao’s expression immediately become awkward. “Hey, he didn’t send you to manage me, did he? I’ve been behaving quite well lately.” Xu Zhaohao was quite puzzled.
Xu Zhaoyue could tell from his expression that he was unaware of his father's plans. "Sigh, I wish Father would give me such a task, but unfortunately it's not possible." She could already foresee Xu Zhaohao's reaction upon hearing the reason.
Xu Zhaohao was about to be happy when he sensed something was wrong. "Sis, what's with that expression? What did Dad ask you to talk to me about? I'm actually a little scared."
"Ahem, it's just that Dad wants you to study management so you can manage the company in the future." Xu Zhaoyue's words made Xu Zhaohao stand up. "What? Did he really say that? I'm going to confront him right now."
Xu Zhaohao rolled up his sleeves and was about to leave when Xu Zhaoyue quickly called out to Yue Lanxing and He Kaiyuan to stop him, "You two, hold him back, I haven't finished speaking yet."
Yue Lanxing and He Kaiyuan each supported one of Xu Zhaohao's arms and pressed him into a chair. Xiao Nan then went over and closed the door. "Young Master, please listen to what Miss has to say first. Miss will help you," Yue Lanxing said.
"Yes, Sister Zhaoyue will definitely be on your side. Don't be impulsive, don't be impulsive," He Kaiyuan comforted Xu Zhaohao.
The two people beside Xu Zhaohao knew what Master Xu meant; he simply wanted Xu Zhaohao to learn how to manage the company, and the next step was to join the company.
This is a path that most families would have to take, but the Xu family is different from other families. Xu Zhaohao was born to the second wife, and she became the second wife while heavily pregnant. Not only is her status awkward, but her net worth is also incomparable. Xu Zhaoyue's mother is not only the first wife, but she also owns half of the Xu family.
This half was already destined to belong to Xu Zhaoyue. Even if Xu Zhaoyue was incompetent, she could still get half, let alone someone as outstanding as Xu Zhaoyue, who was a role model for all the young masters and ladies in Shanghai for a period of time.
Xu Zhaohao should have just stayed home and lived a quiet life. Now that Master Xu is sending him to learn how to manage the company, it's clear that he's supporting Xu Zhaohao in seizing power. The situation will be incredibly ugly then.
Now all three of them are looking at Xu Zhaoyue, hoping she can help Xu Zhaohao. Yue Lanxing doesn't want the young lady to be stressed, so he doesn't want the young master to be arranged by the master. He Kaiyuan is more concerned about Xu Zhaohao; he doesn't want to see Xu Zhaohao learn things he doesn't like, and he doesn't want him to hurt the relationship between the siblings.
Only Xu Zhaohao didn't think about it too deeply, which is understandable, since he grew up in a carefree environment where no one would bother him.
"Sis, you can't let me be forced to study management!" Xu Zhaohao said with a mournful face.
"I found all your screenwriting teachers for you. Would I force you? I'm telling you this now so you can be on guard, lest someone kidnaps you and you don't even know it when you enroll."
