After a round of pleasantries, the officers, not wanting to linger in such poor conditions, left soon after, though their faces were more wrinkled than when they arrived.
"Brother Yue, how much money is in here?" As soon as the person left, Xue Huzi immediately came out from the room next door. The people who had been standing in front were all clever and perceptive, so Xue Huzi hid.
"Don't worry, we won't lose money. After counting everything we found yesterday, it'll be more than this amount." Yue Lanxing watched the car disappear into the distance, wondering how he could get back to the Xu family.
Speaking of taking stock of the assets, Xue Huzi approached Yue Lanxing with a mysterious look, "Brother Yue, if you want this money, you should have taken stock last night. Who knows how much has already been taken?"
Seeing the wary look on his face, Yue Lanxing thought to herself, "Could it be that this kid didn't take anything?" But then she heard him say, "I took some. I'll share half with you later."
So she's not stupid after all. Yue Lanxing breathed a sigh of relief. "I don't need you to divide the cars. Go and see where there are cars, and drive them all up ahead."
"Okay, I'll go right now." Xue Huzi turned around and went to find the car. Yesterday, all the locks on the houses were broken, so if he wanted to find a car, he could just ask anyone where it was.
Yue Lanxing wasn't idle either. He went into the main room and said, "Put away all the boxes and jewels you found yesterday. Don't put the bloody or worthless things here."
"Put the remaining valuables and anything that looks good in boxes and gather them in the hall. Then call everyone in to assemble." This was the instruction given to Tadai.
Once everyone had gathered, Xue Huzi drove the car in. "Yesterday we came in batches on foot. Today I'll take a group back first, and the rest of you will stay here to guard the place. Those who are injured, please carry the boxes onto the car first."
Yue Lanxing got them all moving, then he went to Tian Dai's side and said, "How many of those brothers you mentioned before can you still contact? It's not easy to find someone who can save you in a critical moment. Go and see if they're willing to come here."
“Some of the brothers died here yesterday.” Tian Dai took out a cigarette. Yue Lanxing understood what he meant, but was still surprised that Tian Dai smoked. “You used to smoke?”
"Smoke? Of course I smoke, but these cigarettes are expensive. I got them from the table yesterday. I haven't smoked in ages, so I'll enjoy them to my heart's content." Tashiro's hands were very skilled at handling the cigarettes, clearly indicating that he was a regular smoker.
Yue Lanxing had known him for so long and couldn't tell at all that he smoked. He hadn't touched a cigarette in so long, so it seemed he wasn't addicted.
Tashiro took a deep breath, exhaled a smoke ring, watched Yue Lanxing silently take a step back, then stubbed out his cigarette, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it. "From now on, I'll only smoke this brand."
"I can still contact a few of my brothers, they're all great. When you get back, please thank Miss for me, and also tell her that if she's willing to meet them, I'll take them over."
Seeing that he didn't look cheerful, Yue Lanxing said with a hint of teasing, "Why are you so worried? Are you afraid that the young lady won't like you?" Tian Dai didn't speak, but nodded. He didn't know how he was chosen, but now it seemed that the young lady had a very good eye.
“The young lady won’t be too strict about those who aren’t serving her. She judges people by their character first. As long as their character is fine, that’s good. Alright, I’m leaving with my people.” Yue Lanxing patted Tian Dai on the shoulder to reassure him.
Three cars drove down the street, their bodies freshly washed and dust-free, and drove all the way to the Xu family mansion.
Xu Zhaoyue watched Xu Zhaohao flipping through the pages of a book. He had come over early in the morning to have breakfast with her, and now he was lingering there. It was hard not to know what he was waiting for.
Xu Zhaohao glanced at the door every now and then, and when he turned back, he met Xu Zhaoyue's gaze. "Why don't you just go and wait at the door?" Xu Zhaoyue nodded towards the door.
"I was just worried, sis, weren't you worried too? Sis, you're so bold! Taking over territory, how exciting!" Xu Zhaohao said excitedly, his eyes full of admiration. This was all his sister's plan.
"Ahem, watch your temper and don't get too excited. If you really think I'm something special, wait till Dad comes back. You'll be the one blocking his way. I'm getting you into school and taking over his territory outside. When Dad comes back, he'll be coming after me with a stick."
Xu Zhaoyue's tone wasn't as serious as her words; instead, she spoke with a smile, not at all worried about being beaten. However, Xu Zhaohao still patted his chest and assured her, "Don't worry, sis, I'll definitely rush to the front and carry it for you."
"Yes, I feel relieved to have you here." Xu Zhaoyue responded to Xiao Hao, but in her heart she was thinking that so much time had passed, he should be back by now. What kind of trap did Assistant Qi set up to make her father stay up for so long?
Just as the two were talking, Yue Lanxing's car arrived. Xu Shun was waiting for them outside. As soon as he saw the car arrive, he immediately went inside to tell the young lady and the young master.
When Yue Lanxing saw Xu Shun running back from the car, he knew that the young master was still in the villa. "Later, the three of you drive the car to the storage room, put the things in there, and don't let anyone else see them," he instructed the people in his car.
When they got out of the car, Xu Zhaoyue and Xu Zhaohao also came out. Xu Zhaoyue ran over and asked, "Are you hurt?" Her first question was whether they were hurt. Then, without them having to say anything, she saw the wound that Yue Lanxing had bandaged himself.
"You're tying it wrong. Didn't I teach you all..." Xu Zhaoyue saw the incorrect knot on Yue Lanxing's arm and spoke before her mind could process it.
