Yue Lanxing had no recollection of this person, but he still lowered his head under Xu Zhaoyue's gaze.
"Miss Xu, please don't blame him. I just wanted to come and have a drink with you. But why didn't you hold a welcome banquet when you came back from abroad? Otherwise, I would have drunk this drink at your welcome banquet." The young lady spoke up after watching the interaction between the master and servant.
Xu Zhaoyue picked up her wine glass and clinked it with hers. "It should be done, but I went straight to the company as soon as I got back, and my father isn't in Shanghai. I haven't found a suitable opportunity yet."
"However, our Xu family's anniversary celebration is in half a month. How about I invite you to come and see my work results first?"
"That would be great, I'll go and see what kind of advanced research it is." The other party readily agreed.
After chatting for a while, they parted ways. Xu Zhaoyue leaned back, and Yue Lanxing knew to take her wine glass. "How come you're so perceptive now? Those people aren't monsters. You don't need to hide next time. But you can't hide forever anyway."
"Their interest in me stems from their desire to obtain information about the young lady. I overheard a lot of people talking about the young lady's new research and development, which the Xu family has yet to announce publicly. They must be planning to reveal it during the anniversary celebration; the more mysterious it is, the more they want people to uncover it."
"I was afraid that if I said something wrong, they would understand what I meant and that would be my fault," Yue Lanxing explained honestly, though he did indeed want to avoid it.
After listening to his words, Xu Zhaoyue nodded her chin in agreement, "Indeed, it's not easy for them to ask me directly, so it's not impossible that they came to find you. Alright, let's rest here for a while."
There was a bench in front of them, but Xu Zhaoyue didn't intend to sit down. She let Yue Lanxing sit down and rest. She went to look at the goldfish in the fountain, where there were already people sitting.
Seeing that the young lady had gone, Yue Lanxing realized there was no reason for her to remain seated, so she quickly handed the cup to a servant and followed her.
A group of young people and a few toddlers had gathered around the fountain. "These goldfish are so hard to catch!" It turned out to be a game the hotel had prepared for them—using a small net to scoop goldfish and put them into glass bottles, but their bottles didn't seem to have any success.
"Hey, aren't you that little kid? I didn't even ask you your name last time!" Xu Zhaoyue spotted the child who had gone missing from the orphanage the last time as soon as she walked over.
"Pretty sister! My name is Prince." The child's sweet, childish reply made Xu Zhaoyue laugh. "Sister's smile is so beautiful, and brother is here too." The child pointed behind him, waved, and ran over.
Yue Lanxing bent down and picked up the child, walking a few steps to Xu Zhaoyue's side. "Why are you playing alone again? Hmm?" The child pointed to the side and said, "Mom and Dad are over there, they are drinking."
Xu Zhaoyue and Yue Lanxing looked over and, sure enough, it was there, but since it had its back to them, it couldn't see what was happening there.
"Xiaoyue! I knew the voice sounded like you." Chen Yun came over from the fountain after hearing Xu Zhaoyue's voice, and she was right. "Who is this child?" She looked at Yue Lanxing holding the child and standing with Xu Zhaoyue, and they looked like a family of three.
Xu Zhaoyue explained the whole story to her. "I see. Little friend, your name is Prince. You'd better be careful in the future." Chen Yun greeted the little friend first, then spoke to Xu Zhaoyue. "I've been searching for a long time here and haven't been able to catch one. Look, little friend, you have one in your bottle."
"Ah, you're fishing over there." The water curtain in the middle was too big, making it difficult to see clearly to the other side, so Xu Zhaoyue was pulled over by Chen Yun. Yue Lanxing wanted to put the child down, but the child grabbed his neck and refused to go down.
"Then I'll take you there." Yue Lanxing had no choice but to take his little bottle and the small net and take the child there.
As soon as they arrived, they saw Chen Yun pointing out a particularly lively little goldfish to Xu Zhaoyue, saying, "That's it, I want to catch it, it's so slippery."
Xu Zhaoyue calmly took the net, and while extending it into the water, she watched the goldfish swim. It was indeed slippery. Others nearby wanted the goldfish, but their efforts were in vain.
"I want goldfish," the child said. Yue Lanxing looked at his bottle; it was empty. He hadn't caught anything yet. He wasn't confident he could catch the goldfish swimming in the water, so he could only comfort the child, "We'll try again later..."
Wow! Wow!
Before Yue Lanxing could finish speaking, the child immediately opened his eyes wide and started clapping. Upon closer inspection, he saw that Xu Zhaoyue had succeeded on her first try, and the fish had already been placed in the bottle.
"Xu Zhaoyue! You're amazing! I knew you could do it, hahaha, here you go, showing off in front of me." Chen Yun was showing off to the goldfish in the bottle.
Xu Zhaoyue had just heard the child's voice, so she picked up the bottle and waved it in front of him. "Look, isn't your sister amazing?" Although she was asking the child, Xu Zhaoyue was actually looking at Yue Lanxing and even nodded at him.
Yue Lanxing was happy to see the young lady sharing her success with him. "Amazing!" He said. Before they could even look at each other for a few seconds, the child interrupted, "Super amazing!" The child reached out to take it, but couldn't reach it.
"Hey, little one, this is your older sister's. Sister Yue can help you retrieve it later." Chen Yun took the bottle first, planning to go find Yue Mingyuan to have her take a look later.
The rejected child didn't seem to be crying, just a little downcast. But before Xu Zhaoyue could comfort him, a familiar voice came from behind them: "Where's the child? Where's my child?"
