"Finally back!" Xu Zhaohao stretched after getting out of the car. "It feels like you haven't been back for ten or fifteen days. Is it really necessary to be so emotional?" Xu Zhaoyue looked at him with some disdain.
Xu Zhaohao chuckled, then ran up to her and said, "I was just feeling sentimental for you. We haven't seen each other for over a year. A few days ago, I specially replaced the carpet in your room with a new cashmere one. It was quite expensive."
"Wow, you're so nice to me!" Xu Zhaoyue exclaimed in agreement.
"Yes, let's go in quickly and try out how it feels on our feet." Xu Zhaohao pulled her hand and walked forward. "You two come too." Xu Zhaoyue called out to the two siblings who wanted to go to the other side, so Yue Lanxing and Yue Xuanxuan had no choice but to follow.
"Miss is back!" Xiao Nan had just stood at the door when she saw her mistress return, and she quickly went to greet her.
"Xiao Nan, have you seen the new carpet I laid for my sister? Isn't it beautiful?" Xu Zhaohao asked. Xiao Nan nodded in affirmation, "Xiao Nan saw it, Young Master, you've really gone to great lengths."
"That's good. Come on, sis, go upstairs and take a look." Xu Zhaoyue was pulled upstairs before she could say a word.
After Xu Zhaohao pushed open the door, the carpet that he had been praising appeared before everyone's eyes. It really was a good carpet, with pure white and flawless plush. In Yue Lanxing's mind, it was more like a fine carpet with no visible stitching.
"Is this a carpet?" Xu Zhaoyue also had this question.
Xu Zhaohao nodded subconsciously, then shook his head. "Yeah, uh, the person who gave it to me said it was a blanket to drape over themselves. Actually, I don't think it looks good on me in white, so I brought it over for you to use as a rug. It'll definitely feel comfortable to step on."
"Hmm, it's so white, it's not really suitable as a shawl, so let's just leave it there." After looking at it, Xu Zhaoyue was about to turn around and go downstairs when she saw Yue Lanxing and Yue Xuanxuan standing outside.
"Who was in charge of selecting bodyguards? Let him bring them over. You all go down and wait. I'll change my clothes before I go down." After Xu Zhaoyue finished speaking, Xiao Nan gestured for them to come down.
"It's Xu Dachuan. I'll go find him right away. Sis, you just got off the ship and then took such a long car ride. You must be tired. Take a rest for a while, okay? No rush."
Xu Zhaohao led his men downstairs. Xu Dachuan didn't need him to go looking for him personally. He used the phone downstairs to make a call to the back, and soon heard a call back. Xu Dachuan was coming over with his men.
"Young master, these are some new pastries I made. I wonder if my skills have improved after a year abroad?" Aunt Wu came out carrying two plates of pastries.
"How could that be? Aunt Wu, your cooking is definitely the best." Xu Zhaohao picked up a piece and stuffed it into his mouth. "Hmm? This tastes great, but why does it feel different from before?"
"I added some fresh milk. Miss doesn't like foreign food and has lost some weight, so I added some milk to the pastries." After saying that, Wu Ma looked at Yue Xuanxuan and asked, "Is this the maid you hired?"
"Hey, you two, don't just stand there, come and have a taste. Aunt Wu, this is my classmate Yue Xuanxuan. She'll be working here for a few days, she's not one of our maids," Xu Zhaohao said, greeting them while explaining to Aunt Wu.
Wu Ma nodded to indicate that she understood, but Yue Xuanxuan walked to the table but did not sit down. Instead, she walked over to Wu Ma and said, "After I came here, I was in charge of maintaining those porcelain and antique collections."
"Oh, you know so much at such a young age. You're a very smart child. Come sit down and try these two snacks." Aunt Wu took her hand and helped her sit down in a chair.
"What kind of snacks are they? Is it your specialty, Aunt Wu?" Xu Zhaoyue's voice floated down from upstairs. Turning her head, she saw that Xu Zhaoyue had changed into a cheongsam, completely changing from head to toe. Yue Lanxing could tell that she had changed into a pair of flat shoes that didn't match the cheongsam, probably because she was at home.
Xu Zhaoyue walked over, and Wu Ma immediately pulled out a chair for her. "Miss, what kind of tea would you like?"
"Hmm, jasmine tea, brew it a little weak. What about you guys?" Xu Zhaoyue asked, but only Xu Zhaohao could express his preference, "I'll drink Biluochun."
"Yes, young master, I'll take care of it right away." Wu Ma went to the kitchen.
Xu Zhaoyue noticed where they were sitting and said, "You can sit next to me. I'll be using the chairs opposite me later."
She said so, and they did so. Yue Xuanxuan and Xu Zhaohao sat on either side of her, which was quite symmetrical. Yue Lanxing was about to stand up when she was stopped. "Hey, you don't need to. Just sit there."
"Yes, Miss." Yue Lanxing sat down again. It seemed that they would be tested later. She wondered what kind of questions the young lady would ask.
"Miss, the things are here." Xiao Nan held a rectangular box about thirty centimeters long, with a stack of papers on top, and placed it in front of Xu Zhaoyue.
Xu Zhaoyue put the paper aside and opened the box. "Wow! Sis, why did you buy so many pens? One, two, three... there are ten in this box."
Xu Zhaohao touched them all first, then asked, "Are there any for me here? I think I could have one." He had originally wanted to take a fountain pen.
“There’s none for you here.” Xu Zhaoyue picked up one of the cigarettes and gave it to Yue Xuanxuan. “Happy graduation, this is a gift.”
"This must be very valuable, right? You're giving me a gift on our first meeting, I can't accept it." Yue Xuanxuan quickly waved her hand, while Xu Zhaohao beside her continued, "There are so many here, isn't there one for me?"
"I've put yours away separately, I'll give it to you tonight." After Xu Zhaoyue assured him, Xu Zhaohao stopped talking and secretly chuckled to himself.
