Chapter 9: The Second Selection

Seeing his surprise, Xu Zhaoyue gestured for him to look across. Xu Zhaohao saw that Yue Lanxing had already written half of it, and then he shut up. His sister was definitely ahead of him and could see further.

Yue Lanxing knew that the young lady meant "it is not convenient to receive guests now." This was different from the sentence structures he had seen in Yue Xuanxuan's book. He couldn't write them down by simply memorizing them, but fortunately he had studied these things.

Li Qi had no idea what the young lady was talking about. While he was scratching his head, he suddenly noticed that Yue Lanxing had put down his pen and sat up slightly. He realized that Yue Lanxing had actually finished writing. Li Qi winked at Yue Lanxing, hoping that he would raise his hand.

Yue Lanxing noticed his little action, but he was unsure whether to show it to Li Qi when Xu Zhaoyue glanced over, and Yue Lanxing subconsciously raised his head.

Xu Zhaoyue could see all their little movements, and naturally she also saw the two opposite her. She nodded slightly, and Yue Lanxing immediately pulled her right hand back a little so that Li Qi could see it.

Li Qi was still thinking that Yue Lanxing was a good person to get along with, and that he really let Yue Lanxing copy his answers. He was so happy that he would definitely treat Yue Lanxing to a meal once he was selected. He didn't notice the exchange of glances between Yue Lanxing and Xu Zhaoyue.

"Xue Huzi, repeat that sentence to me..." Xu Zhaoyue said it to Xue Huzi again. As soon as Xue Huzi heard the young lady's voice, he focused his attention highly. After hesitating for a while, he still spoke up based on his instant memory.

Although he spoke haltingly, Xu Zhaoyue did not laugh at him; instead, she nodded gently.

"Alright, everyone, hand it in now that you're done writing, Xiaonan." Xu Zhaoyue saw that they had used every trick in the book, so she could collect the papers now.

"Yes, Miss." Xiao Nan came over from behind, collected the papers one by one, tidied them up, and handed them to Xu Zhaoyue.

Xu Zhaoyue took the paper, looked at the names on it, and read them aloud to match the names with the people.

"Three for each person, right?" Xu Zhaoyue looked at Xu Dachuan. "Yes, Miss, Master said it should be divided equally." Xu Dachuan nodded.

Xu Zhaoyue arranged the papers in the shape of a fan, then picked out two. "Yue Lanxing and Xue Huzi, I want these two first. Xiao Hao, see which one suits you best."

Xu Zhaoyue choosing Yue Lanxing was a certainty, but Xu Zhaohao didn't quite understand why she would choose Xue Huzi. However, even if he were given the choice, he couldn't come up with a clear answer. "As for me..."

At this moment, Li Qi was eager to show himself. He never expected that Xue Huzi could take up a spot. However, Xu Zhaohao saw his eagerness and thought that he wanted to come to his side.

"Hey, let's go with him, he looks smart." Xu Zhaohao pointed at Li Qi and said. "Huh?" Li Qi was stunned. Just as he was about to speak, Yue Lanxing nudged him with her leg.

Li Qi, realizing what was happening after being bumped by Yue Lanxing, replied, "Yes, it's my honor to be the young master's bodyguard."

"Are there any others?" Xu Zhaoyue took out the paper written by Li Qi. Although it was copied, not a single letter was wrong.

Xu Zhaohao hesitated for a moment, "I can't tell either, why don't you help me choose, sister?" Although he wasn't good at judging people, he trusted that Xu Zhaoyue wouldn't pick a bad one for him.
