“Ordinary people don’t come to jade shops. Anyone who needs one has to make an appointment in advance. Let’s go in and take a look.” Xu Zhaoyue had just taken a step inside when someone jumped out, startling her.
Yue Lanxing quickly grabbed Xu Zhaoyue's arm. The man in front of her was tall and thin. "Do you two have an appointment? We can't serve you if you don't have an appointment." He had an arrogant attitude.
"What, you can't come in without a reservation? You're running a business with your doors open, you're not turning away customers." Yue Lanxing stepped forward and used her height advantage to suppress the other person.
The other person glanced at his clothes and then, seeing that Xu Zhaoyue was beautiful, immediately changed their expression. "Oh, no way, I'll take you in right away."
Just as Yue Lanxing was about to let the young lady walk ahead, Xu Zhaoyue grabbed his arm, looking like a little bird clinging to him, and said, "I don't know how to look at jade, why did you bring me here?"
"You can buy it even if you don't know how. Whatever you like, I'll buy it for you today." Yue Lanxing seemed to understand what the young lady wanted to do, so she cooperated with her.
The person in front of them twitched their ears upon hearing this, and immediately took a lot of jewelry upon entering. "Hey, miss, look at all these good things, you'd better be careful."
Xu Zhaoyue glanced at them and knew they weren't high-quality goods, but she still smiled and nodded, "Okay, may I try them on?"
"Well, you can take a look at this first, and let me know if you want to try it on later."
While Xu Zhaoyue was pretending to look at it seriously, this person pulled Yue Lanxing aside.
“Brother, our shop is famous throughout Shanghai. You’ve come to the right place with your girl. Give me this amount, and I’ll help you win her over.” He held up three fingers.
"This person is definitely not a good person," Yue Lanxing said, pretending to be wealthy and powerful. "What? Are you going to introduce me to the best things? How else can you help me?"
"Hey, you can't say that. Did you see that batch of goods just now?" the man asked. Yue Lanxing frowned and said, "It really wasn't..."
"You can tell, but this girl can't. Here's what I'll do: I'll make it sound amazing and give you a high price so you can save face in front of her, but in reality, I don't have that much money."
This gave Yue Lanxing a knowing look, which disgusted him greatly. While he was dealing with this waiter, Xu Zhaoyue met a familiar waiter.
"Shh." Xu Zhaoyue stopped him in time before he could reveal his identity. "What brings you here? These materials aren't very good, are they?" Xu Zhaoyue remembered that this old friend's name was Xiaobai.
Xiao Bai saw that the boss was looking at these things and wouldn't let him reveal his identity. He realized that the boss was on an incognito visit. He looked around again and sure enough, he saw the guy surnamed Lü.
"His surname is Lü, and he's only been here for half a year. He's Old Lü's nephew." Xiao Bai quietly revealed the identity of the shop assistant from earlier, and Xu Zhaoyue nodded to indicate that she understood.
Seeing someone talking to Xu Zhaoyue, Xiao Lü immediately brought Yue Lanxing back. "Xiao Bai, this is none of your business, go ahead and do your work." She tried to push Xiao Bai away as soon as she came over.
"I just wanted to introduce this beautiful lady to something inside that is more befitting of her status." Xiao Bai didn't let him rummage around and darted to the side.
Xiao Lü pursed his lips. It's true what they say, being good with words makes a difference. He started flattering her right away. Too bad, he had already agreed to pay her.
"This young master and young lady came together, so it depends on their opinions. You don't know anything and you're just spouting nonsense," Xiao Lü said disdainfully.
"Is there something even better? I don't know much about these things. Shall we go in and take a look?" Xu Zhaoyue pulled Yue Lanxing's arm and looked up at him, seemingly genuinely interested in what Xiaobai was saying.
Yue Lanxing took her hand and said, "Okay, let's go in and take a look. These things really don't do justice to you."
"Alright, this way please, you two." Xiao Bai came out from behind the counter and led them upstairs. Xiao Lü followed behind him with an unpleasant expression, wondering what kind of trouble he was up to.
As Xu Zhaoyue went up the stairs, she would occasionally exchange glances with Yue Lanxing, looking very affectionate. Yue Lanxing was radiating happiness, and anyone who saw him would think that he was in love.
Xiao Lü turned around and saw their interaction. He felt nothing but contempt. The girl was so easily swayed by a few kind words that she bought him expensive things. If they got married, wouldn't he have to give her all his money?
Xu Zhaoyue and Yue Lanxing had no idea what he was feeling. They felt like they were playing a game, and only after entering the VIP room did they realize that what they had outside was really not that great.
Of course, this feeling was Yue Lanxing's; Xu Zhaoyue felt as comfortable as a fish in water, without any sense of constraint.
"We've just received a new batch of glass-type and icy-type jadeite. Please take a look." Xiao Bai took out two boxes, and when they were opened, they were indeed beautiful and radiant.
"This looks nice, I want to try it on." Xu Zhaoyue reached out her hand, and Xiaobai put on the gloves and then put the bracelet on her wrist.
Looking at Yue Lanxing, who was still laughing happily, Xiao Lü wondered if this guy even knew how much money this cost. It's not like it's his wife, why would he spend so much?

"No, I only like this one. Put it on my tab, and have Lao Yang come over on Saturday." Xu Zhaoyue said to Xiaobai while wearing the bracelet. "Okay, do you want to see anything else?" Xiaobai put the box away without even asking Xu Zhaoyue if she wanted to put the bracelet away first.
