Chapter 97 Trading

Once all the dishes were served, we ate and talked.

“In five days, go to Reporter Zhu and ask for some information. Just say it’s what I asked him for before, because I have to go to sea to discuss business and can’t make it,” Yue Lanxing said.

"Oh, you're going to talk business at sea? That must be dangerous. Luckily you're good at it; I wouldn't be able to do that." Zhao Mutou's tone was envious, but he wasn't jealous. "I just stay home with my wife."

"Wife? You two are getting married?" Yue Lanxing asked, but in his heart he was thinking that he could keep the young lady company and wouldn't be lonely at all.

Zhao Mutou quickly waved his hand, "No, no, we're getting engaged soon, I'm just saying it to get it off my chest. You really are our matchmaker, come on, let me toast you."

“Sure, I’ll definitely give you a big gift when you get married.” Yue Lanxing raised her glass and clinked it with his.

The days leading up to boarding were uneventful, but once aboard, they experienced the rough seas. They first had to sail their own boat to the trading location before inspecting the goods on the other party's ship.

"Miss, we're almost there." Yue Lanxing came up to tell Xu Zhaoyue after hearing the captain's report in the monitoring room.

Xu Zhaoyue nodded. "Yes, I see that you've learned English very well recently. When we meet, don't speak. Just pretend you don't know English. While I'm checking the equipment, listen to what they're saying from outside."

"Okay, I understand." Yue Lanxing nodded.

Upon arriving at the transaction location, the other party was already waiting there. Xu Zhaoyue brought six people who had previously trained on the ship, and after their training on Yue Lan Star, their aura was now completely different from before.

"Hello, Mr. Smith." As soon as Xu Zhaoyue approached, he was greeted with a hug. "Hello, Miss Xu!" Mr. Smith learned a few Chinese greetings.

After exchanging pleasantries, they began to seriously discuss cooperation. Xu Zhaoyue had previously revealed that she had participated in this project, and if Mr. Smith could sell her a piece of equipment, mass production could begin in the near future.

The temptation was huge for Mr. Smith, which is why he agreed. However, he also had a condition: he wanted to see how familiar Xu Zhaoyue was with the equipment.

The process went very smoothly. When Xu Zhaoyue was about to enter the equipment room, Yue Lanxing and his men stood on one side, and Mr. Smith's men stood on the other side.

This time, Xu Zhaoyue, Mr. Smith, and a researcher went in. Mr. Smith was so familiar with the equipment that he knew it would make him a lot of money.

After Xu Zhaoyue went in, she spent the whole time communicating with the researcher. This part took an hour, and Xu Zhaoyue's mind was filled with a lot of professional knowledge. She hadn't had such an exchange in a long time.

"Good, very good. Your understanding of the status device is even better than mine." The researcher's words were like a stamp of approval on this test. Mr. Smith, who was about to fall asleep, perked up again when he heard him praise Xu Zhaoyue.

Xu Zhaoyue accepted the compliment. Now it was time for the final step: to confirm the price. If there was no additional charge, they could return in two hours, but there was no possibility of not having to pay the extra charge.

“Ms. Xu, since you’ve already inspected the equipment, you must know that it’s perfectly fine. It wasn’t easy for me to get it out.” Mr. Smith’s words were clearly a request for more money.

Xu Zhaoyue was used to his behavior. "Okay, Mr. Smith, I can accept the price if it's reasonable. But if it's too different from what we agreed on, then I'm sorry."

"Just add 20% to my price, and I'll immediately arrange for someone to ship it over to you."

Xu Zhaoyue had prepared a 30% premium, but she didn't agree immediately. "If it's 10%, I can pay right away."

"No, no, no, I can give you the equipment right away, even if it's only 20%. Anyway, the equipment is on the ship and we can't run away." Mr. Smith waved his hand, looking like he wouldn't lie.

Xu Zhaoyue thought for a moment, "How about this, I don't have 20% of the money here, so why don't we change the location for the transaction?"

“Oh, where?” Mr. Smith asked curiously.

“We can sail together to the location 100 nautical miles from the dock. Once we get there, I will arrange for someone to go back and collect the money. They will bring the money to the ship first thing tomorrow morning.”

Xu Zhaoyue thought that price was not important; what was important was to keep the equipment under control. Even if she paid now, there was no guarantee that the equipment would be safely delivered to her ship.

Mr. Smith really thought about her suggestion for a moment, and finally nodded, "If it weren't for the fact that I spent so much money, I wouldn't have put Miss Xu in such a difficult position. Let's do as Miss Xu wishes, and set off now."

"Alright, I'll go back to the ship now and have our ship lead the way. I'll take my leave now." Xu Zhaoyue didn't give him a chance to stay and stood up to walk out.

Yue Lanxing and her men escorted her back to her own ship.

"Now head back and stop a hundred nautical miles from the dock. Then have someone take a small boat back to get the money, saying you'll get another twenty percent." Xu Zhaoyue felt much more at ease after returning.

"Okay, I understand. I'll stay outside tonight, there won't be any danger," Yue Lanxing reassured her.

Xu Zhaoyue smiled and said, "Don't worry, I believe you. If you're going to stay up all night, why don't you go to sleep now and get some rest? You don't have to stay until nine or ten o'clock tomorrow morning."

"Okay, I'll go back and rest now." Yue Lanxing stopped just as she was about to leave. "Hmm? Is there anything else?" Xu Zhaoyue asked, puzzled.

Yue Lanxing looked at the boxes on the floor. "Miss didn't bring Xiaonan up. Are you going to pack these up yourselves?"
