When Xu Zhaoyue woke up the next day, she was grateful that she didn't have the headache that comes with drinking. Yesterday, Wu Ma was almost in tears while talking about it, so she suggested that they have a drink and talk slowly.
Then she followed Wu Ma to the backyard, where she reminisced about the past and drank quite a bit of wine, sipping it slowly.
"Miss, please get up quickly, Butler Yue is waiting outside." Xiao Nan came in with clothes. Xu Zhaoyue was about to ask him what he was waiting for when memories flooded her mind. "Oh, I remember now."
"Cough cough, how did I become so dramatic after drinking this time?" Xu Zhaoyue said to herself, spreading her arms wide.
Xiao Nan came over to help her get dressed. "It's alright, Miss. She always manages to surprise people when she's drunk."
After Xu Zhaoyue finished tidying up, she opened the door. Xiao Nan went out first, and then Yue Lanxing came in.
"What do you want from me?" Xu Zhaoyue asked as she sat at her dressing table and watched Yue Lanxing enter.
Yue Lanxing walked up to her and knelt down on one knee. He took out a box from his pocket. Before Xu Zhaoyue could react, he opened the box, and inside was a seal.
"I thought you were going to propose?" Xu Zhaoyue patted her chest to comfort herself, realizing she had been thinking too fast.
Yue Lanxing's expression shifted. "If Miss agrees, how about we make it a ring next time?"
"Judging from your performance, it won't be easy for you to get me to agree to marriage," Xu Zhaoyue said somewhat coquettishly. Yue Lanxing was amused. "Well, I'll start preparing now."
"What's this in your hand?" Xu Zhaoyue stopped talking to him about this. She picked up the seal and looked at it, not understanding why Yue Lanxing had given it to her.
Yue Lanxing explained, "This was given to me by Yue Wenxing, my uncle, when I went to the Yue family. He said that he would put the company under my name later, and it's a symbol of my status."
“I thought about it a lot last night, and I realized that verbal promises are just empty promises. Only the most practical things can give you a sense of security, so I’m giving this to you.”
"Although this wasn't achieved through my own efforts, it's the only thing I have that truly represents my feelings," Yue Lanxing said sincerely.
Xu Zhaoyue put the seal back in the box. "You said it yourself. If you betray me, I'll sell all your shops and leave you none of them."
"Besides, compared to you, who is more important than this seal? You are the most important person." Xu Zhaoyue put the box into the drawer.
Actually, if the boss were here, who would listen to someone with a seal? But Yue Lanxing liked Yue Lanxing's attitude. Yue Lanxing was also happy to see that Xu Zhaoyue accepted it.
The machine had arrived, and Manager Hong began arranging for people to learn how to use it. Once they had mastered the machine, she planned to have her grandson undergo an examination.
"Quan Quan, did you have fun when you came home last time?" Xu Zhaoyue asked, pulling Quan Quan's hand as they sat on a bench on the lawn. "Yes! But they only come back once every two months, so I'm not happy," Quan Quan said, pouting.
Xu Zhaoyue rubbed his little head, "You can go out with them after your surgery."
As the two of them were sunbathing, an old lady came over and said, "Young lady, aren't you the girl who helped me the other day?" Xu Zhaoyue turned around and saw that it was the old lady she had met in the parking lot that day.
"It's you! Come and sit down." Xu Zhaoyue quickly helped her sit down.
"My surname is Qin, you can just call me Grandma Qin." After Grandma Qin sat down, she took Xu Zhaoyue's hand and said, "I have to thank you, it's all thanks to you."
Xu Zhaoyue modestly said, "Grandma Qin, there's no need to thank me so much. I just helped you find a hospital."
Grandma Qin shook her head and said, "I came here today to ask a doctor to come to our house for a consultation. My daughter is confused and can't leave the house. None of the servants were home that day, and I was so anxious that I came out by myself."
"After I told the doctor, the doctor disagreed, but the nurses and doctors said that you brought me here, so they found a doctor and nurse who were off duty to accompany me back."
Xu Zhaoyue hadn't expected this. "If that's how it is, then I guess I've done a good deed. Is your daughter alright now?"
Grandma Qin patted the back of her hand. "It's nothing. It's an old problem. When it flares up, she doesn't recognize anyone. She's even more confused than an old lady like me. She can't be without someone by her side."
"It's also my fault. I gave them the day off and only left the kitchen staff behind." After chatting with Xu Zhaoyue for a while, a maid came to find her.
After seeing Grandma Qin off, Xu Zhaoyue took Quan Quan back home. The research team was still working on their research.
"Vice President Xu, this is indeed very precise. Is what you told me on the phone before true? You can even draw these blueprints?" The research director clearly did not believe it.
Seeing that he didn't believe her, Xu Zhaoyue naturally had a way to make him believe her. "Just point to a part now, and I'll draw it and you'll see."
"Oh?" The research minister was genuinely surprised. "You, even if you participated in the project, this is too arrogant. Okay, draw this one for me." He didn't point to the most difficult one, which was already giving Xu Zhaoyue face.
Xu Zhaoyue nodded, "Okay, let's go to the conference room to draw, and let them watch for a while longer."
After the two arrived at the conference room, Xu Zhaoyue took a piece of paper that was wider than her arm and placed it on the table.
The research minister sat next to her and watched her draw. At first, he didn't pay attention, but after half an hour, he said, "Why don't you take a break? You can't draw well if your hand is tired."
"Ah? Okay, I'll rest for a while." Xu Zhaoyue put down her pen, sat down in the chair, and relaxed her fingers.
