Chapter 155 Breaking the situation

"Why are you back?"

On the sofa, Lu Anning looked at the two men curiously. She thought they went directly to the construction site.

"If you want to catch ghosts, you have to eat first."

Knowing Lu Anning's temper, if she wasn't brought along, they would probably meet at the construction site, let alone get her to eat well.

The meals they packed back from Haiyuelou were all light in flavor, dishes that Lu Anning liked. The three of them ate and talked about the detailed plans for tonight.

Lu Anning nodded from time to time and ate quite a bit without realizing it.

Before setting off, the two of them confirmed again and again that Lu Anning's injury was not a problem before taking her with them.

Around eleven o'clock, Lu Anning arrived at the construction site on time. The only people waiting for her were the three people who had caused trouble before. The other workers were still afraid and did not dare to show their faces.

The three of them exchanged glances when they saw Lu Anning limping out of the car.

A Qiang, the leader, stepped forward and said, "Miss Lu, is it okay for you to come here alone like this? You are so delicate and fragile. If you encounter a ghost later, we won't be able to protect you."

"I'm not afraid, so why are you worried? Haven't you heard that a man with a clear conscience fears no slander?"

"Okay! If anything happens later, don't blame us."

"Please lead the way, everyone!" Lu An Ning's polite attitude and frank eyes made the three people feel a little uncomfortable.

They walked in front, leading the way, occasionally glancing at each other, as if planning something. Lu Anning followed closely behind, turning on his phone to start a live broadcast.

The entire construction site covers a large area. The further you go in, the quieter it becomes. The wind is blowing all around, carrying the smell of mud after the rain. In the pitch-black night, the footsteps of the few of them are particularly clear.

Lu Anning followed them around for more than ten minutes, but they still didn't stop, so he lost his patience.

"After walking for so long, where is the place you said you saw the urns and human bones? Where is the place you said was haunted?"

A Qiang stopped and shone the flashlight on Lu An Ning's face. "Miss Lu, why are you so anxious? The construction site is so big, and we're still ahead! These things must be in a place with few people and strong yin energy. Just come with us. Don't get scared and pee your pants later."

A Qiang glanced at Lu An Ning with disdain, and the three of them quickened their pace.

The further in he walked, the colder Lu An Ning felt. Suddenly, a faint whimpering sound came from somewhere. The three people in front of him froze and dared not move.

A Qiang swallowed and looked at his companions.

One of them asked cautiously, "Did you hear that just now?"

The three of them turned around and looked at Lu Anning, their eyes filled with fear: "Miss Lu, did you... hear that?"

Lu Anning frowned: "What did you hear?"

"Listen carefully."

Everyone held their breath, silent, their ears filled with the sound of the wind. Just then, the sobbing sound appeared again.

This time, even Lu Anning could hear it clearly; it sounded like a woman crying. Alarm bells rang throughout her body, and she looked around. There were only deep pits dug everywhere, used for foundations or underground parking lots. No one was in sight.

Where did this woman's cry come from?

The sound became clearer and clearer, and the three men huddled together in fear. Suddenly, one of the men screamed, pointing behind An Ning with trembling hands, his eyes almost popping out.

Lu Anning turned around quickly, but there was nothing behind him.

A cold voice drifted over with the wind: "I died such a miserable death! Wuuwuwu..."

The three men screamed in fear and fled in all directions. Lu An Ning wanted to call them, but it was too late. In the blink of an eye, three figures ran in three different directions and soon disappeared into the darkness.

Now, she was the only one left.

She clenched her fists and looked around vigilantly: "Come out! You dare to act like a ghost, but you dare not show yourself?"

After a long while, the sound appeared again, and with it, a flash of white shadow appeared.

"I died such a tragic death! Come down and accompany me..."

Lu Anning turned around suddenly, but still couldn't see clearly what was floating past. However, this time she determined the direction of the sound.

She wiped the sweat from her forehead and walked towards the southeast corner, staring at the time on her watch. Sure enough, the sound appeared every half a minute, and it was not just from one direction.

She followed the sound and came to a big pit, only to see that the pit was blocked by bricks and stones. Lu Anning looked carefully and just squatted down on the side when a shadow flashed past her from behind.

Lu Anning narrowed his eyes and stared at the direction where the white shadow disappeared. He hesitated for a moment, then reached down into the pit and sure enough, he touched a hard object along the edge of the wall.

The flashlight illuminated what she had taken out. Looking at the mini speaker in her hand, Lu Anning curled his lips.

I see!

If it were someone else, it would indeed be a bit scary.

The sounds from other directions continued. At this time, Lu Anning was no longer afraid. Following the same method as before, he found several other mini speakers in different directions.

As for that white shadow...

Hearing the warning voice, Lu An Ning moved very quickly, turning around as instructed, reaching out and grabbing the dummy wrapped in white cloth in mid-air. Lu An Ning pulled it down along with the rope. Lu An Ning took a closer look and found that it was a very thin fishing line, completely invisible in the dark night.

At the source of the fishing line, a hurried sound of footsteps came. Lu An Ning was not in a hurry. After more than ten seconds, a man's wailing was heard not far away. Lu An Ning smiled. It seemed that the ghost on the construction site had been caught.

The lights came on, and the entire construction site suddenly became as bright as day. Tang Jingyuan and Xiang Yang, who had been hiding in the dark, came out with their men. The person being escorted in the crowd was the 'ghost' they had just caught.

When she saw the other person's true face, Lu An Ning couldn't help but frown. This result was somewhat different from what she had expected.
