In the room, Fu Rongyin was lying on the bed with a pale face and dull eyes, as if she was frightened.
"Rong Yin! How are you feeling? Are you feeling unwell?"
Fu Rongyin shook her head and propped herself up to sit up: "I'm fine, I'm sorry to have made everyone worried."
Tang Qizong frowned, held Fu Rongyin's hand tightly, and asked her: "Rongyin, I'm here, and no one will bully you. Don't be afraid, just tell the truth. Was it Lu Anning who pushed you into the lotus pond?"
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone frowned. Even a fool could tell that Tang Qizong's words were too suggestive.
Fu Rongyin stared at Tang Qizon in a daze, then looked at Lu Anning in the crowd, and did not speak for a long time.
Tang Qizong reminded him again: "Don't be afraid! I'm here, and Dad will give us justice."
Lu Anning curled his lips, took two steps forward and stared at Fu Rongyin: "Third aunt, do you remember what we talked about in the corridor?"
Fu Rongyin remembered something and her face froze. Lu Anning was clearly speaking with a smile, but she couldn't help but feel a chill down her spine and trembled all over.
Tang Qizong sensed something was wrong and turned back to glare at Lu Anning: "I'm here, don't try to threaten my wife. Rongyin, just tell me, if it was really her who pushed you, I will never let her go."
Fu Rongyin lowered her head with a conflicted look on her face. Her husband kept asking questions and giving hints in her ears, but as soon as she saw Lu Anning's face, she would remember what they had said in the corridor.
If Lu Anning were to tell everyone about the bad things his son had done in a fit of rage, the old man would kill him.
"I...I don't remember."
As soon as he finished speaking, Tang Qizong's expression froze, and even his voice became louder uncontrollably.
"How could you not remember? Think about it again!"
"Don't ask anymore, I'm so tired. Take me home to rest!" She avoided his gaze and didn't look at anyone.
For the sake of her son, she could only endure it.
Tang Qizong was annoyed. He turned around and glared at Lu Anning: "It's you, isn't it? What did you do to Rongyin that scared her so much that she didn't even dare to tell the truth? My husband and I sincerely welcome you, but I didn't expect you to turn around and murder Rongyin. You have such a cruel heart, Dad. A woman like this must never enter the Tang family."
Tang Jingyuan, who had been silent all this time, became angry. He stepped in front of Lu Anning and looked directly at Tang Qizon.
"Uncle, stop it. Auntie has already said that An Ning wasn't the one pushing her. You have no basis whatsoever and insist on throwing dirty water on An Ning. What's your intention? I brought An Ning back to celebrate my birthday. If you don't like her, you don't have to come back. I respect you as my uncle, but that doesn't mean I can tolerate your family without any bottom line."
Tang Jingyuan was hinting at something. Fu Rongyin's heart nearly jumped out of her chest as she listened. She immediately stood up and scolded Tang Qizong, "Enough! I've already said it all. I fell down accidentally. Lu Anning has nothing to do with it. Did you hear that clearly?"
Tang Qizong was completely stunned, not understanding why his wife wouldn't cooperate with him. He winked at Fu Rongyin, but she ignored him.
She propped herself up and got out of bed, apologies to Tang Jingyuan and Lu Anning.
"Your uncle is worried and confused, and some of his words are unintentional. Don't take them to heart."
Then she turned to the old man and explained, "Dad, it was all a misunderstanding. An Ning and I were talking under the long corridor, and it was dark and we couldn't see clearly. I didn't stand firmly and fell into the pool, or it was Lu An Ning who held me back. I'm fine now."
Tang Qizong stood aside, staring at Fu Rongyin with a dark face, and said nothing more.
Mr. Tang glanced at everyone and didn't delve into the matter any further.
"Since this is just a misunderstanding, let's just call it a day! You were frightened tonight, so go back and get some rest. It's getting late, everyone, go home!"
After the old man spoke, Tang Qizong had no choice but to take Fu Rongyin away. Lu Anning also returned to the small courtyard arranged for them to live in, accompanied by Tang Jingyuan.
The courtyard is quiet and elegant, connected to the main house by a corridor, yet independent of the main house, perfectly ensuring the privacy of each, which completely meets Lu Anning's aesthetic taste.
As soon as the two entered the house, the old man asked the housekeeper to bring the ointment.
"Madam, remember to apply it tonight. The wound on your neck will be gone by tomorrow morning."
Lu Anning was stunned. She picked up her phone and looked at it for a long time before she discovered a circle of red marks on her neck. It was probably because she was pinched by Fu Rongyin when they fought just now, but she didn't know it all along.
Lu Anning accepted the ointment and thanked him, then stole a glance at Tang Jingyuan, who was sitting aside with a cold face, his expression difficult to discern.
The housekeeper put down the medicine and left. Lu Anning looked back at Tang Jingyuan, and seeing that he ignored her, she smiled and walked forward, putting the medicine in his palm.
"I'll finish my shower later, can you help me wipe it off?"
Tang Jingyuan glanced at her calmly: "You are so powerful, do you still need me?"
Lu Anning smiled guiltily, slipped into his arms, put her arms around his neck and gave him a stealthy kiss: "I'm fine, right? She also fell into the water and learned her lesson. It happened suddenly, I didn't expect her to suddenly attack me. Besides, she's your aunt."
After being kissed, Tang Jingyuan's anger instantly disappeared and he sighed helplessly.
"I just came here and started to make trouble. I should have thrown him in front of Grandpa and let him deal with him personally."
Hopefully, the couple can restrain themselves, otherwise, he would be too lazy to hide it any longer.
The arrangements in the house were very thoughtful. All the food, clothing and daily necessities were prepared according to Lu Anning's daily habits. Even the brand of shower gel was exactly the same.
After changing the environment, Lu Anning rarely got used to his bed and slept until dawn. The servants had already brought breakfast to the courtyard.
Tang Lianfeng came at the right time and was ordered to be their tour guide. He arranged the itinerary and the first stop was to take Lu Anning to the Antique Street to see something new.
"Antique Street doesn't open until the afternoon. I'll take you around the old house this morning to familiarize you with the area. At noon, we'll all go to Yunxianlou for lunch, and then head straight to Antique Street. I guarantee it'll be worth the trip."
"Yunxian Tower?" Tang Jingyuan frowned.
Tang Lianfeng nodded repeatedly: "The old man chose the place and ordered the dishes."
After hearing this, Tang Jingyuan stopped asking questions. It wasn't until Lu Anning ran into Ye Haojie at Yunxian Tower during dinner that she understood why Tang Jingyuan was frowning.
It seems that today's trip is not just about eating.
