Chapter 453: Too Much

Lu An Ning stared at Aunt Li and frowned subconsciously: "Aunt Li, you misunderstood. I..."

"I understand."

She laughed and simply sat down next to Lu An Ning.

"You young people have too much free time, so you only have random thoughts. You have this today, and you want that tomorrow. It's good enough for you to show up, and Mr. and Mrs. Gu love you, but you still sigh like this. It's really not right. Look at us ordinary people. We are busy with work every day. How can we have time to think about this and that? Right?"

Lu An Ning pursed her lips and looked at Aunt Li: "So, you are very busy?"

"Of course! Actually, being in charge of the kitchen is also very hard work. There is always something to do from morning to night. I..."

"So you still have time to lecture me here?"

Lu Anning's tone turned cold. Aunt Li was stunned. Only then did she realize that she had gone too far. She quickly stood up from the sofa and smiled awkwardly.

"Oh! Ma'am, don't misunderstand me. I'm a warm-hearted person. I just saw that you were unhappy!"

"But I've already said that I'm fine. Aunt Li, I hope you can put yourself in the right place before you speak or act. I don't like servants who meddle in other people's business, understand?"

Lu Anning had initially felt sorry for Aunt Li because she had helped her, so she decided to send her to Bixiwan to help Wang Ma with some of the work. But now she realized that Aunt Li, though seemingly enthusiastic, lacked even the most basic sense of boundaries.

Compared to Wang Ma, she is far inferior.

Aunt Li smiled awkwardly, lowered her head, and responded reluctantly.

"Madam, I'll go down and get busy."

After she finished speaking, Aunt Li turned and left. She didn't know if she had misheard, but as she turned around, she seemed to hear a faint hum.

She looked at Aunt Li's back as she left, a look of displeasure on her face, but she didn't say anything in the end.

Just now, she had given Aunt Li a warning. She hoped that she would change her ways in the future. Otherwise, she really wouldn't be able to stay in Bixi Bay for long.

She took a bite of the bird's nest fruit, lost interest, and put down the fruit fork. At this time, Tang Jingyuan came back.

Lu Anning's eyes lit up: "Why are you here so early today?"

She thought Tang Jingyuan's reply meant that she should wait for him to get off work. She checked the time. It had only been half an hour since he sent the message. Had he already left the company when he replied?

Tang Jingyuan curled his lips: "If someone needs me, I will rush back."

Lu Anning raised her lips slightly and walked forward to hug him. She felt more at ease when she smelled the familiar scent. After a while, she realized that Tang Jingyuan still had his hands hidden behind his back, and she was immediately puzzled.

"What are you hiding back there?"

"I brought it for you."

Tang Jingyuan took out an exquisite little box from behind, which contained a square dessert, which was exactly the one she liked best.

"I didn't ask you to bring it."

"You probably need dessert and me right now. Try this! This is their new product, a double-flavored mille-feuille, mango and honeydew melon, both of which you'll like."

Tang Jingyuan pulled Lu Anning to sit down and carefully opened the dessert for her.

The soft and glutinous cream melted in his mouth, and the fragrance spread in his mouth, awakening Lu Anning's dormant taste buds, and his originally dark eyes instantly lit up.

Before she could speak, Tang Jingyuan said, "I knew you would like it."

Lu Anning ate several mouthfuls in succession, and her previous gloomy mood was swept away. It turned out that the good mood she wanted was so simple.

Seeing that she was much happier, Tang Jingyuan asked, "What happened? Why are you suddenly in such a bad mood?"

"I……"

She was about to say something when she caught a glimpse of a figure in the direction of the kitchen. She turned around suddenly and saw a figure flash by the door and then disappeared.

"Aunt Li? Aunt Wang?" She raised her voice, wanting to confirm who that person was.

After a while, Wang Ma appeared outside the French window holding a pair of large scissors. "Madam, what do you want?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Aunt Li rushed out of the kitchen with stains on her hands.

"Ma'am, I'm preparing dinner."

Lu Anning looked back and forth between the two of them, as if thinking about something.

"Nothing to do, go and do your thing!"

Seeing this, Tang Jingyuan obviously found something wrong. The two exchanged glances and went upstairs with food.

It wasn't until she heard the sound of a door closing upstairs that Aunt Li finally poked her head out of the kitchen and looked upstairs. Unfortunately, she saw nothing.

She was standing at the kitchen door in a daze when Aunt Wang, who had just finished trimming the garden, called her from behind.

"Sister Li, there's smoke coming out of the pot in the kitchen."

Aunt Li finally came to her senses and hurried to deal with the kitchen. Wang Ma was suspicious and looked in the direction she was looking, just in time to see the corner of the master bedroom door upstairs.

Mother Wang withdrew her gaze and looked at Aunt Li who was busy in the kitchen, somewhat puzzled.

Only after the study door was closed did Lu Anning's brows slowly relax.

"Why? At home, there's no need to be so careful."

"I feel like there might be something wrong with Aunt Li."

Lu Anning couldn't be wrong about that strong feeling of being watched. At first, she thought Aunt Li was just being concerned, or that at her age, she couldn't control herself and acted casually.

After observing for a period of time, she found that this was not the case at all.

Aunt Li was paying attention to her every move, and was especially interested in what she was going to do.

Tang Jingyuan's brows tightened: "We'll know if there's any problem if we try it."
