Lu Anning was about to step forward to stop him, but Tang Jingyuan stopped her in time.
After just a moment of hesitation, Lu Anning could only watch Alice being taken into the car by her father and the two of them leaving together.
Lu Anning was a little annoyed and broke free from Tang Jingyuan's hand.
"What happened to you just now? I don't believe you didn't see that the relationship between the professor and my father is too ambiguous."
"Since you knew that, why did you go over to stop him?"
Lu Anning was stunned and looked at Tang Jingyuan: "What do you mean?"
"Think carefully about who Professor An is! She's been able to rise to her current position abroad on her own, and she's seen all kinds of men. Do you think she can't see what your father is thinking? Yet, she still gives your father-in-law the opportunity to get close to her. Don't you understand?"
Only after being reminded by Tang Jingyuan did Lu Anning slowly calm down.
She did it on purpose!
"Both of them are getting closer to each other. In the end, it's not certain who will suffer the loss!"
Tang Jingyuan said, staring at the person in front of him seriously: "It's you! Ningning, don't you think that your reaction to this matter is too big? Professor An is just our partner!"
Given her usual personality, she would never care about her partners to this extent.
Lu Anning finally realized that her reaction had been too strong. She didn't know what was wrong, but seeing Gu Zhiwei and Professor An so close together, it felt like a fire had been ignited in her heart.
Her father is a family man. Professor An is such an outstanding person and his reputation should not be tarnished by a scum like his father.
"I'm just worried that once a woman falls in love, all her cleverness will disappear."
"Then let's give Professor An a little more trust! Of course, I will remind Professor An appropriately about your concerns."
Lu An Ning sighed softly. Just now, she was impulsive again.
"Thank goodness you held me back! I don't know when I'll be able to change my impulsiveness."
"No one is perfect, and you don't act impulsively all the time. Perhaps, caring too much can lead to confusion."
Lu Anning couldn't quite put her finger on how she felt about Professor An. She always felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity whenever she saw her. She genuinely didn't want the professor to get hurt.
Especially, a man as versatile as her father.
He deliberately approached the professor, so there was no so-called love involved. I don't know what he was planning.
That evening, Ji Yan received a friend request from a stranger. The black profile picture exuded a sense of mystery, and she almost agreed. A moment later, her phone vibrated.
She stared at the photo on the screen, her eyes blazing with fire. The next second, she swept all the skin care products on the sink to the floor.
The loud noise still couldn't vent her inner anger. She raised her cell phone, but her hand stopped in mid-air again.
There was a noise outside the house. It was Gu Zhiwei coming back.
She quickly took off the mask and rushed downstairs without even washing her face.
Gu Zhiwei had just sent Alice back to her apartment, and it was clear that he was in a good mood. Before he could savor everything that had happened tonight, a figure hurried down, completely oblivious to the pain in his ankle.
Gu Zhiwei was startled by his wife: "What were you doing in such a hurry at night? You were so careless. No wonder you twisted your ankle."
Facing her husband's scolding, Ji Yan looked at him straight as if she didn't hear him.
"Where have you been?"
"Socializing! Didn't I tell you that?"
"Who are you entertaining?"
Gu Zhiwei was puzzled for a moment: "Entertainment, of course it's a client. What's wrong with you?"
"What kind of female client needs you two hugging her like this! Gu Zhiwei, I'm not dead yet!"
Gu Zhiwei frowned: "What are you doing?"
"I'm crazy? Look at what you've done."
Ji Yan put the phone in front of him. They had been married for decades. In the past, Ji Yan would have turned a blind eye and let it go, but this time was different.
This woman came here on purpose to take revenge on her, and she would never allow this woman to get close to her husband.
When Gu Zhiwei saw the photos taken on his mobile phone, his face darkened.
"Who gave you the courage to have someone follow me?"
"You admit it?"
Gu Zhiwei impatiently threw the phone to Ji Yan and explained casually: "Things are not what you think. Don't go crazy here. I'm very tired after a busy day and don't have time to accompany you."
This sentence again!
The more Ji Yan thought about it, the angrier she became. She grabbed Gu Zhiwei and wouldn't let him leave. The two of them started arguing in the living room.
"Talking to me is tiring, but chatting and laughing with other women is enjoyable. Gu Zhiwei, you must make things clear to me today."
"Have you had enough of this? Figure out your role in this family. Have I been too indulgent with you lately? If it's menopause, have Aunt Zhao accompany you to see a doctor tomorrow."
Gu Zhiwei shook off Ji Yan and went upstairs impatiently. He happened to meet Gu Yue coming down the stairs. He just glanced at him and respectfully called out "Dad" as if he didn't hear anything.
Ji Yan was so angry that her face turned blue, but she was helpless. She looked at Gu Yue, wanting to say something but stopping herself.
Gu Yue said hello politely and turned to leave. Ji Yan's words stopped on her lips, and she could only watch Gu Yue pick up the magazine and go upstairs again.
Lu Anning had just come out of the shower and didn't expect to hear such a wonderful recording.
She vaguely heard something like "photos", but when she thought about it carefully, she didn't notice anyone taking pictures at the time.
Did Ji Yan really send someone to follow her father?
It seems that the relationship between them is not as harmonious as outsiders see.
I just don't know what the professor's purpose is in approaching her father.
Out of kindness, she still sent a message to kindly remind the professor, writing and deleting in the editing box, but in the end, it still failed to be sent.
Jing Yuan’s reminder was correct. This was the professor’s private matter and he shouldn’t interfere.
