Chapter 494 I'm Not Sick

After returning home that night, Ji Yan was still not at peace.

Gu Zhiwei arranged for doctors for her, but she drove them all away. From that day on, Ji Yan became even more suspicious, unable to sleep well at night, suffering from constant nightmares, and always feeling that everyone around her was out to harm her.

When the news reached Lu Anning, as Ji Yan's only daughter in name, she immediately thought of a solution.

When Lu Anning returned to the Gu family's home, he noticed that the atmosphere in the villa was even more depressing than before. He heard that Ji Yan had been making trouble, and Gu Zhiwei was not in a good mood. The whole family was trembling with fear, and the young masters didn't want to come back.

The one who suffered the most was Aunt Zhao, who was responsible for taking care of Ji Yan.

After not seeing her for some time, Lu An Ning noticed that she looked even more haggard than last time.

However, when she saw Lu An Ning again, Aunt Zhao greeted him respectfully with a hint of smile in her eyes.

Lu Anning nodded nonchalantly and walked towards the living room with Tang Jingyuan in his hand.

Gu Zhiwei had a worried look on his face as he sat alone at the tea table next to the floor-to-ceiling window, drinking tea in silence. It was obvious that he was troubled by Ji Yan's condition.

Lu An Ning walked forward with a smile and called out "Dad" sweetly. It was obvious that she was in a very good mood.

Gu Zhiwei responded, "You're here. Sit down!"

Tang Jingyuan pulled out a chair for Lu Anning and sat down on the other side.

Gu Zhiwei sighed when he saw his son-in-law who was so considerate to his daughter. His life used to be very peaceful until recently when his wife started to act like a madman and he hadn't slept well for several days.

He also wondered if it was really Professor Alice's problem.

But he quickly dismissed the idea. At the beginning, he had deliberately approached her to show his goodwill, and she had always kept a safe distance from him, never crossed the line, and was always concerned about Ji Yan's situation.

She has such good conditions, what can she want for herself!

He concluded that it was Ji Yan's problem.

"Dad, I see bloodshot eyes and dark circles under your eyes, and your face looks tired. Didn't you get enough rest? No matter how busy the company is, you have big brother to help you, so you have to take care of your health."

Gu Zhiwei sighed softly, "You're still more considerate. You saw at a glance that I wasn't in a good state. The company's affairs are nothing. I've been through this all these years. The main reason is because of your mother."

Lu Anning pretended to be embarrassed: "Is she still making trouble?"

Gu Zhiwei smiled bitterly, "I don't know what's wrong with her! In the past, when I got angry, she would calm down. But this time, the more I talked, the more intense her reaction became. She didn't stop talking until half the night, and I haven't had a good night's sleep in several days."

"Didn't you see a psychiatrist?"

"She refuses to go! She's so reluctant to go when it comes to seeing a doctor that sometimes I even wonder if she's crazy."

Lu Anning understood and exchanged glances with Tang Jingyuan.

Tang Jingyuan said, "We've actually heard about this as well. So, An Ning and I went to see Professor An and explained the details. He gave us a prescription, saying it would be very effective for my mother-in-law's condition."

When he heard An Li's name, Gu Zhiwei's eyes lit up.

"How dare you bother Professor An again! Last time, Ji Yan hurt her, and I wanted to apologize to the professor, but she refused to see me. I was worried that she was angry about that incident. I didn't expect that Professor An would still have such a heart."

"I'm angry, but I also understand. The professor said that in her eyes, there are only patients."

Gu Zhiwei was in trouble again: "Your mother refused to take the medicine. Even your second brother wanted to take a look at her, but she refused to accept it, not to mention..."

“It’s not medicine.”

Lu An Ning smiled and took out a small and exquisite box from her bag. When she opened it, she found that it was filled with a lot of agarwood with a unique fragrance.

Gu Zhiwei just leaned in and smelled it, and immediately felt refreshed.

"This is?"

"I made this in Professor An's laboratory under her guidance. After the dinner that day, I realized something was wrong and told the professor about it. Her foot was injured, so I couldn't let her do it herself, so I asked her to guide me. You can just say this is just ordinary calming incense."

A glimmer of joy flashed in Gu Zhiwei's eyes: "Professor An's prescription will definitely work. I'm sorry for her taking so much trouble!"

"If you don't tell me who did it, I won't know. Just light it before you go to sleep and it will work. I don't want you to get too tired! Try it first and see how it works."

Gu Zhiwei nodded with satisfaction and immediately accepted the box of incense.

"Here's a week's supply. I'll bring you more when it's all used up."

"Ayue, you are really my good daughter. You will find a way. I will try it tonight."

Just as Gu Zhiwei finished speaking, Ji Yan's gloomy voice came from upstairs: "Try what?"

Lu Anning looked up and glanced, then quickly looked away and looked at Tang Jingyuan. No one said anything.

Seeing that her words were ignored, Ji Yan quickly went downstairs.

"What were you talking about with your dad just now? Are you planning to plot against me again?"

Ji Yan stared at Lu An Ning warily, and with a quick glance, she noticed the red box next to Gu Zhiwei.

"What is that?"

Lu Anning explained in a good-tempered manner: "That's a calming incense. Light one before going to bed to calm your mind."

"For me?" Ji Yan sneered, took the box and opened it to take a look: "Are you so kind?"

"This is……"

Without waiting for Lu An Ning to explain, Ji Yan threw the whole box of incense to the ground and crushed it.

"Don't think I don't know what you're thinking! All of you, don't even think about harming me. As long as I'm alive, no one can replace me as the Gu family's mistress. No one!"

As she spoke, she gritted her teeth and glared at Lu An Ning, and the incense under her feet was crushed by her. For a moment, a faint fragrance spread in the living room.
