Chapter 571: More Arrogant

Lu Anning was inexplicably hung up on. Staring at the blackened screen, she fell into deep thought. Clearly, Bai Lu hadn't restrained herself after being assigned to the Municipal Bureau. Instead, she was even more arrogant than before, her words dripping with madness.

She carefully thought about all the possible ways Bai Lu might attack her, and reminded Ding Wan not to go out and play recently, only then did she feel relieved.

Even if Bai Lu wanted to take action, these were the only methods she could use. As long as she reminded those around her to be more vigilant, she wouldn't have a chance to take advantage. As for Tang Jingyuan, he would be alert without her having to remind him.

Or maybe Bai Lu was just trying to scare herself?

Not wanting to worry Tang Jingyuan, Lu Anning didn't tell him about Bai Lu's call. The new project started, and both of them became busy. After working overtime for several days, Lu Anning gradually forgot about Bai Lu's threat.

While chatting, she accidentally heard some news about Bai Lu from Zhong Ling.

"Jianjia Teahouse is open again, and this time, there are even more customers than before."

Zhong Ling said this, placing the pictures she had found in front of Lu Anning. Bai Lu, captured in the camera, wore exquisite makeup and designer clothes, making no effort to conceal her wealth. The most striking thing about her was the diamond watch on her wrist, which practically blinded the viewer.

"Mr. Lu, I remember you also have a watch like this."

Lu An Ning curled the corners of his mouth and after a closer look, he found that most of the jewelry and bags on Bai Lu were similar to Lu An Ning's. Thinking about it carefully, there was a sense of secret competition.

Lu Anning smiled and didn't care. From the beginning to the end, she had never paid too much attention to these things. Everything in the cloakroom was arranged by Tang Jingyuan, and it was replaced every quarter. She couldn't wear them all, and many of them didn't even have the tags removed.

She still remembered Ding Wan asking her why she didn't go shopping much. Lu Anning just curled her lips. Was it possible that the store didn't have as many styles as her own at home?

To this day, she is not particularly clear about what styles of clothes she owns.

She had just discussed this with Tang Jingyuan a while ago. She couldn't wear so many clothes, and buying new ones every season would be a waste. He had nodded in agreement, promising not to send too many to the counter in the future, but she wasn't sure if he'd really listened.

"Let her learn if she wants! Anyway, we don't have much in common."

In the past, it was because of Tang Jingyuan. Now, she and Bai Lu were in two different industries, so she thought that they wouldn't have much time to meet. As for the teahouse, she would not go there either.

On this day, Lu Anning stayed in the company to work overtime as usual. She was so uncertain that she didn't ask Tang Jingyuan to take a detour to pick her up these days. She simply drove to the company herself and took Zhong Ling back home in the evening to ensure her safety.

In a blink of an eye, it was almost ten o'clock and a drizzle began to fall outside the window. Zhong Ling came over to remind her, and Lu An Ning simply packed up and prepared to leave.

She sent Zhong Ling home as usual, and they were chatting and laughing on the way about wanting to have a late-night snack. When the two of them were chatting happily, the car turned a corner and a truck rushed towards her with its horn honking.

The glaring headlights blinded her. She didn't even have time to react and instinctively turned the steering wheel to the right. The truck slammed into the driver's seat, pushing the car until it hit the green belt and stopped.

Lu Anning only heard a loud bang, his head splitting with pain, and he was stuck in the seat, unable to move.

The glare hurt her eyes, and she vaguely felt a warm liquid running down the corner of her eye. She leaned over the steering wheel and subconsciously looked towards the passenger seat. Zhong Ling had fainted.

"Zhong... Zhong Ling..."

Before she could touch Zhong Ling, her vision went dark and she fainted completely.

Thunder roared across the sky, breaking the tranquility of the night, and a light rain suddenly turned into a heavy rain.

Tang Jingyuan felt uneasy for some reason. He looked out the window. The rain was slamming against the glass, making him feel uneasy. He checked the time, stood up, and walked towards the French window on the balcony.

You can see the way in there!

It was pitch black and he couldn't even see a car.

Aside, Aunt Wang was also a little worried: "It's so late, why hasn't Madam come back yet? It's raining so hard, you have to be careful."

Tang Jingyuan frowned even more as he listened.

He was about to call Lu Anning when his cell phone suddenly rang.

"Is this Mr. Tang Jingyuan? Your wife, Ms. Gu Yue, was in a traffic accident and is now being rushed to the City Center Hospital for emergency treatment..."

Tang Jingyuan's face suddenly changed, he hung up the phone and ran out the door.

Along the way, the car drove very fast, and Tang Jingyuan couldn't wait to appear in the hospital immediately.

The road from the company to home is smooth and everything was fine, so how could a car accident happen?

He gripped the steering wheel, his heart aching. When he arrived at the hospital, the patient was still in the emergency room. Seeing the red light, his heart leaped into his throat.

Please don't get into any trouble!

"Third Master!"

A call came from behind, and Tang Jingyuan turned around, only to see Zhong Ling limping towards him, holding on to the wall. Her arms and forehead were wrapped in thick bandages, and there were several scratches on her face.

Seeing Tang Jingyuan, Zhong Ling couldn't help crying out of guilt.

"It's all my fault! If I hadn't been in the car, Mr. Lu wouldn't have been injured so badly. It's all my fault!"

Tang Jingyuan was completely confused: "Assistant Zhong, what's going on?"

Zhong Ling choked up and told the whole story.

"We don't know what happened to the truck. It just seemed like it suddenly lost control and drove towards us. Ms. Lu could have avoided it herself, but she turned the steering wheel to the right, preventing most of the damage for me."

Zhong Ling cried and slapped herself hard: "I shouldn't have let her send me off!"
