Chapter 582 Black Rose

Lu Anning was startled: "Is that a pair of phoenix eyes? She just took my blood pressure and left from over there."

Tang Jingyuan didn't have time to ask anything else and chased in the direction the nurse left.

Liu Quan died of poisoning, and the entire department's medical staff was busy, and the scene was chaotic. Tang Jingyuan watched the hurried figures coming and going, and the corridor was full of gossip. He was the only one there, and he didn't know which direction to go after him.

That person appeared right under her nose, and she actually let her go like that.

He clenched his fists, blaming himself for not being vigilant enough. He had thought those people wouldn't be so brazen as to attack in the hospital openly, but he didn't expect that they wouldn't even let go of a patient with terminal cancer.

If Liu Quan were alive, even if there was no direct evidence to prove that Bai Lu was involved in drug-related crimes, the fact that she hired someone to kill someone would be enough to arrest her.

Has the well-behaved college student whom he sponsored now become a demon who kills people without blinking an eye?

Thinking of this, Tang Jingyuan was terrified.

Lu Anning watched Tang Jingyuan chase him out, lost in thought. The nurse was right in front of him. If she was someone Bai Lu sent to silence him, she would have had every opportunity to attack him.

Then was her appearance in front of him just a provocation?

She almost had a brush with death again.

An Li's exclamation brought Lu An Ning back to her senses. She looked up and saw An Li holding a piece of notepaper with a rose pattern on it, with a strange look on his face.

A palm-sized notepad had a hand-painted black rose on the white back. Somehow, Lu Anning felt a chill as he stared at the flower.

"Mom, what is this?"

An Li shook her head: "I don't know either. I just saw it on the table. Isn't it your painting?"

Lu Anning shook her head. She had learned everything, but the only thing she couldn't do well was hand-drawing.

"What's written on it?"

An Li came back to his senses, stuffed the note into his pocket, and smiled: "It doesn't say anything, just some incomprehensible words. It must be someone's prank. Just ignore it."

mischief?

Lu Anning stared at his mother, feeling something was strange.

After a while, Tang Jingyuan came back. It was certain that he did not catch the person. However, there were surveillance cameras everywhere in the hospital. If he wanted, he could at least find out that the other party went to Hong Kong. Tang Jingyuan decided to go to the monitoring room to check.

"Mom, please stay with Ningning for a while. I'm going to the monitoring room and will be back soon."

Tang Jingyuan briefly explained and left. Lu Anning watched as his mother chased after him. She stopped Tang Jingyuan in the hallway and seemed to hand him something. Through the window, Lu Anning couldn't see clearly, but he vaguely felt that Tang Jingyuan's face changed. When his mother returned, Lu Anning asked again, but she refused to say anything.

"Mom, please don't hide anything from me. It will make me more likely to have wild thoughts. Is the thing on the note just now related to Jing Yuan?"

An Li sighed softly, "You're in such a bad state now, what's there to worry about? Take care of yourself first, and when you recover, you can worry about other things. Jing Yuan is such a grown man, there's nothing he can't handle, why do you need to worry about it?"

Lu Anning was scolded by his mother with a cold face for a few words, and then he stopped asking questions.

She understood the reason, but she just couldn't control her brain.

It was more than half an hour later when Tang Jingyuan came back. Seeing that he didn't look well, Lu Anning comforted him with a few words.

"It's understandable that they didn't find it. These are what the police are supposed to do. Don't worry too much."

Tang Jingyuan responded, and even his smile seemed a little forced. Lu Anning could tell at a glance that he was worried.

Could it be related to the note from earlier? What exactly was written on it?

Lu Anning began to feel bad about her injury. Now she could do nothing but lie in bed.

Knowing that An Li had finished lunch with Lu An Ning, he prepared to leave.

Lu Anning felt tired and asked Tang Jingyuan to see her off. He then slowly closed his eyes.

After the commotion in the morning, Tang Jingyuan no longer dared to let Lu Anning stay alone in the ward. Even if he left, he would arrange for someone to guard the ward and not allow strangers to approach.

In the corridor, Tang Jingyuan accompanied An Li to wait for the elevator. It was lunch break and it was quiet at this time.

An Li finally spoke: "Lone Wolf, that's you, right? That note was specially left for you."

Tang Jingyuan frowned and responded, "Don't worry, I will handle this matter well and will never let Ningning get involved."

"They're clearly coming for you. I believe you're capable of handling this matter. However, as a mother, Jing Yuan, I don't want to see my daughter in any danger. Do you understand?"

"I will definitely protect her."

"I've always believed in you. I still say the same thing, if you need my help, just let me know. If it really doesn't work, wait until Ningning is discharged from the hospital and arrange for her to recuperate in a safe place. Once you've dealt with everything, let her come back."

"I'll think about it."

The elevator door opened, and Tang Jingyuan was stopped by An Li just as he took a step.

"No need to send her off, go back and look after her!"

"Be careful on your way!"

The elevator slowly closed. Tang Jingyuan took a deep breath and took out the crumpled note paper from his pocket. The hand-painted black rose on it was particularly dazzling. His past memories were awakened again. Looking at the familiar handwriting, Tang Jingyuan's brows were wrinkled into the shape of the Chinese character "川".

There was only one simple sentence written on the clean paper: Lone Wolf! How are you?

Just from the strokes, Tang Jingyuan could sense the sharp edge of the other person. A cold light flashed in his deep eyes. He crumpled the note into a ball and tossed it into a roadside trash can.
