Chapter 6: The daughter of a wealthy family is worth less than grass

Tang Jingyuan was stunned, turned around and looked at her again, with a complicated light flashing in his eyes.

Lu Anning felt a little uncomfortable when he looked at her. Was he worried that he would be implicated?

"Don't worry, I won't get you into trouble."

Tang Jingyuan smiled awkwardly, did not respond, opened the door and went into the house.

The house was big, but not as luxurious as any she had seen before. The whole decoration style was rather cool and refreshing, without any worldly atmosphere. It looked more like a model house.

Tang Jingyuan usually lives alone. He doesn't like being disturbed by outsiders. Even the servants only come to clean during the day.

"I don't like people entering my study. Apart from that, you can use any other places as you like. I still have work to do. If you're tired, you can wash up and rest first."

"Wait." Lu Anning stopped Tang Jingyuan and said, "Do you have an extra computer I can borrow?"

"I'll get it for you."

After Tang Jingyuan left, Lu Anning looked around. The large light gray bed behind him exuded an oppressive feeling, just like Tang Jingyuan himself. Thinking about sleeping in the same bed with Tang Jingyuan tonight, Lu Anning was still a little nervous.

Tang Jingyuan came back and saw her staring at the bed in a daze. Her seductive look that night appeared in his mind and his expression darkened.

"What are you thinking about?" A low voice sounded from behind. Lu Anning was startled and fell backwards into the man's strong arms.

Under the light, Lu An Ning fell into his deep eyes, and fragmented images of the two people entangled popped up in her mind. As her breaths intertwined, she came to her senses, escaped from the man's arms, and stabilized her body.

Tang Jingyuan glanced at his arms, which were empty. He hesitated for a second before retracting his action.

"This is the computer you wanted, and also my secondary card."

Lu Anning frowned: "Mr. Tang, I will go look for a job tomorrow."

Tang Jingyuan didn't explain and stuffed the card into Lu Anning's hand: "It's your business if you want to work, but it's my responsibility to support you. You're leaving the Lu family with nothing. Even if you find a job, you still have to buy clothes."

Lu Anning did not refuse. Even if it was a loan, he would pay it back when he made money.

"Also, we are married, you can call me by my name."

"Tang...Jingyuan?"

He responded calmly and went to the study.

Lu Anning put the card away and took a quick shower. Turning on her computer, she couldn't help but check the trending news. Within two or three hours, the news of her expulsion from the Lu family had already topped the trending search list, with netizens' comments becoming increasingly harsh.

The fake daughter was kicked out of the house, and the adopted daughter of a wealthy family was worth less than grass.

Lu Anning curled his lips and closed the pop-up window without hesitation.

Since graduating, she'd dedicated herself to the Lu Corporation, helping her adoptive father secure several major projects. This time, she was primarily responsible for the No. 1 Academy, which her adoptive father had set his sights on. In the next few years, Jiangcheng's major development would revolve around No. 1 Academy. If the Lu Corporation won the bid, seizing the initiative and, coupled with its successful marriage to the Pei family, would surely see rapid growth in Jiangcheng.

Now that her relationship with her adoptive father had broken down, this project had become her trump card. Besides the Lu family, many others were interested in this project, and as long as she came up with a complete project plan, she wouldn't have to worry about finding a job.

In the silent night, the only sound in the bedroom was the typing of the keyboard. Lu Anning, absorbed in her work, had completely forgotten that tonight was her and Tang Jingyuan's wedding night. She didn't even know when she fell asleep. When Tang Jingyuan returned to the bedroom, Lu Anning was reclining on the bed with her eyes closed, the light on her notebook beside her still on.

As he approached, his eyes were attracted by the bidding proposal on the screen and he paused.

Did she just write this?

Tang Jingyuan carefully took the computer from her arms and read the entire bidding proposal carefully. From the calmness at the beginning to the flash of surprise in his eyes at the end, he looked at the woman on the bed again, and his expression became complicated.

That night, Lu Anning slept exceptionally soundly. When she opened her eyes again and saw the unfamiliar environment, she was unable to adapt for a while.

The bathroom door opened, and Tang Jingyuan walked out, fully dressed. He glanced at Lu Anning and asked, "Awake?"

"Last night, I..."

Tang Jingyuan walked to the bedside and leaned over: "Last night was our wedding night."

Her thin red lips moved slightly, as if reminding Lu Anning of what she had missed last night. On her wedding night, she was so busy that she fell asleep alone. Tang Jingyuan didn't think she did it on purpose!

Lu Anning hurriedly explained: "I didn't mean it. At worst, I'll make it up to you tonight."

Tang Jingyuan looked Lu Anning up and down, his eyes blunt: "How do you want to compensate me?"

This really stumped Lu An Ning. She was not familiar with matters between men and women, and it was her first time that night, but she couldn't just give in in front of Tang Jingyuan.

"You'll know when the time comes."

Throwing these words down, Lu Anning slipped out of Tang Jingyuan's arms while he wasn't paying attention and went into the bathroom. As she closed the door, she heard a man chuckle behind her. Lu Anning didn't look until the door was closed tightly, and then she came to her senses.

Thinking of her promise just now, Lu An Ning regretted it again. What did she say just now? How could she make it up to Tang Jingyuan after missing her wedding night?

Many colorful images emerged in Lu Anning's mind. She was shocked by her own thoughts and her cheeks turned hot.

When she finished washing up and came out, Tang Jingyuan was no longer in the room. Lu Anning picked out some suitable clothes to change into, and when she went downstairs, Tang Jingyuan had already prepared breakfast.

Seeing everything in front of him, Lu Anning suddenly felt that a loveless marriage was not as bad as he had imagined.

Before leaving, Tang Jingyuan offered to see her off, but Lu Anning refused as she still needed to check the plan again.

Before going downstairs, Lu Anning contacted several companies she was optimistic about, but no one responded. This was all within Lu Anning's expectations. With so many uncles and aunts in the Jiangcheng business circle, she would always find a bold and discerning one.
